  1. I've got the first gig of my band coming up soon! We're Hora. Just working on mixing the EP at the moment and then we can properly start up the social media accounts.
  2. I've got the Lekato WS-90. Nabbed it from AliExpress for a fair bit cheaper than Amazon. Does the job! Haven't had it flake out at all and it's been fine with active, passive and skinny stringers. It does seem to be a little bit quieter than a cable though. My GX-100 has an input level and it noticeably dips when that is connected. I just turn up the input signal a bit.
  3. Ok, I'll need a drive, a fuzz, delay, reverb, and a tuner. My prices are from PMT. I'll take a Laney Black Heath distortion (£99) that I can run as an always on thing. A Russian Big Muff (£85). A Zoom B1 Four (£79) can do the delay and reverb and tuner. And I've got a bit left over, so I'll take a boost (£29) to run into the drive should I need it. That's £292, so the remaining £8 can go towards some patch leads.
  4. Says it's chambered and only weighs 3.1kg though. If you need a light bass, that ought to do it!
  5. Dude, you came in with a really strong opinion and incorrectly used the word "statistics"* when you have no data to back up your claim. People disagreed and wanted you to explain it a bit, you continued to fly off the handle. Just because you have a leduc or two, doesn't make you arbiter of what is good or bad. Mass produced basses have been working for a lot of people for a long time. Get off your high horse. If you'd taken the time to Google it, the Ibanez Iron Label is a metal orientated multiscale 5 string bass with a 5 piece maple and walnut neck. Should be pretty stable, and to answer OP, I reckon the neck sounds fine and has room for adjustment if it needs it. *Def: Statistics is the discipline that concerns the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistics?wprov=sfla1
  6. I'd say the nut is probably fine. The E and A strings may sit a bit higher than the D and G. They're thicker strings, so only the base of the slot needs to match the others. How far down the tuning pegs are the winds? If they're too high, they can cause some unwanted vibrations due to the break angle.
  7. I recently got a Roqsolid one for my ABM600 with a free foamguard upgrade as a part of a promotion. Seems like a nice upgrade from the ampguard one I had on my Ampeg cab, which was also fine and held up to a lot of loading in/out over the years I had it.
  8. It's all come together really nicely and sounds great! I bet it'd love a bit of dirt too...
  9. Again, I wouldn't say dull is like dark. Dull, to me, is a hofner with tape wound strings, tone rolled off. Dark is more like a P bass with rounds and the tone down a bit. There is a bit more harmonic content in a dark sound than a dull one.
  10. I think this must be the same bass and has been a project for @Waddo Soqable... https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/473682-rickys-had-his-head-chopped-off-bosh/
  11. No, I wouldn't say dull. It's different to dull. Dull to me is negative, dark isn't necessarily a bad thing. One of the guitarists in my band has several SGs, a Les Paul and a Heritage H170. The SGs are a little scooped sounding, the Les Paul has a lot more mids. I would describe the Heritage as darker. It is almost more focused and has an extended bass response. It has a clarity that the others don't have by sacrificing a bit of the high end. I know that's skinny stringers, but hopefully that's helpful...
  12. Nah, that'd work well. The stage is so covered with smoke that the audience just sees the flashing of a pick and hear a massive wall of sound. I'd have no complaints as a punter!
  13. Yeah, that looks really cool. Love a bit of chrome!
  14. I would have liked to compared your B6 to my GX-100 too.
  15. I've not liked any of the flats I've had over the years, and yet, for some reason, I'm tempted to buy a set of these for the bass I'm building. Is that absolute madness? I think it might be...
  16. If I didn't love my ABM 600 (don't know why we didn't get one of those on stage!), I'd have been looking for one. It was a lovely thing. So easy to dial a good tone on. I know I spent a while on the old school Trace, but that was trying to get rid of a rattle from the speaker.
  17. I've had spells where I've just not played much for a year or two. It happens. Give yourself some time and be kind to yourself. Your interests are allowed to wax and wane.
  18. Here's one I added to my Combustion so I have a passive tone control.
  19. I'll never understand why they must insist on "launching" products when it isn't available to buy. A Google search can't even find a teaser video for it. Same with the new Roasted series basses - there is a bit more about them online, but still not available to buy, just pre-order. Launch it when you have the product to sell! They're just killing any new product buzz they might get by constantly jumping the gun.
  20. Your Les Paul would have had me tempted!
  21. I was mainly suggesting it to make the gold strings work. The JMJ Mustang comes with flats strung through the body. I haven't heard of anyone having issues with that...
  22. That looks like a gorgeous combination of woods! Fingers crossed the new bit of ebony arrives safely🤞 Could make it a string through body and then you should be ok with the regular scale gold strings... No need to worry about length of posts. I find it can help to get thoughts out.
  23. Thanks! I'm really pleased with the fingerboard. I think it looks much better than the original one.
