Earplug recommendations - ACS? Or something else?

Massive thanks for the code! Just put in my order. Need to book in for the appointment now. -
Signal Path splitting with multi-FX - any 'budget' units good at doing this?
MichaelDean replied to visog's topic in Effects
Depends on the budget! I don't think anything under £300 can do parallel signal chains though (happy to be corrected on this!). Boss GX-100/GT-1000/GT-1000 Core, Line 6 Helix family are probably easiest to find under £400 that can do it. Mod Dwarf is a fairly niche product, it is super flexible in terms of signal routing, but you have to do all of your editing on a computer. Don't know if that's a deal breaker. Form factor will be something to think about too. How many foot switches do you want? Is an expression pedal useful? If you have an audio interface for your computer, you can try out the Helix plugin for 15 days to see what you think of parallel processing too. I found that I didn't like splitting by frequency on my GX-100. I couldn't find the right frequency to make it sound good to me. I much prefer having a bass effect and a guitar effect layered. Ive mixed back to pedals for my fuzz tone though. I've put a Mojo Mojo into a Bass Big Muff in blend mode in the effects loop of my GX. Sounds massive. -
Looks like the HB-50 has finally been released. 34" scale, cherry or vintage orange. @neepheid anything look different to the prototype you had? https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_hb_50_cherry_red.htm

I've actually got my first gig with it on Saturday alongside Godless Suns, Battalions and Witchsorrow (we're Hora). Really looking forward to using it live.

Which companies are dead to you?
MichaelDean replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in General Discussion
They also have their own drivers. If a takeaway doesn't have dedicated delivery staff and doesn't want to deal with hiring/firing, it means they can reach a wider audience. -
There's no tube, I'm assuming that it's like having a fancy pedal in your head. I don't personally care though. Less potential for breakage and still sounds great.

My brother bought a b stock Taylor acoustic from Thomann. The frets were cut a bit too deep and the ends hadn't been filled. He liked the guitar so kept it, but probably spent the same money as a non b stock one getting it put right plus a setup.

What am I actually trying to achieve and with what?
MichaelDean replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Amps and Cabs
The heads are class D, so they've clearly got a new version that works. I'd also be very surprised if they don't update the combo soon. -

I'm just listening to The Stranglers (not sure I've given them a listen before, but as an '87 model, they were a bit before my time...) and I'm doubling down on my Digbeth recommendation. I think you'll be able to get right where you want to be with it as a one box solution. No, it isn't the smallest head out there, but it's not massive either. -
Original Gibson and New Epiphone G3 Mike Dirnt
MichaelDean replied to Minininjarob's topic in Bass Guitars
The grabbers are coming in at £929, I wouldn't be surprised at £1200+ for a signature G3 based on their recent prices. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/epiphone-grabber-bass-natural -

I'd suggest trying a Digbeth head. I might be biased as I just got one, but the distortion is tubey in nature and the tilt control is a bit of magic. You can make it light or dark sounding with a twist of the knob, then fine tune with the EQ. 500W RMS too. It's plenty loud enough in a loud band. Seriously good bit of kit. -
We're looking at triggering some visuals (videos, effects) with MIDI somehow. Does anyone have any first hand experience of doing this in an unobtrusive manner? And best software? It looks like there are bits of software that do it like Magic Music Visuals and Synesthesia. The thought I've had so far is to set up triggers on my GX-100 along with banks of custom patches for each song, so that when I hit a switch, it sends out a MIDI signal and the visuals change.

Lots of my friends were into Linkin Park, but I never quite got them. Heard the popular songs plenty of times though. She sounds great. Maybe the original vocal parts were in an odd range for her, but really? It sounds like she's doing a fine job. First live appearance with the band too. There's got to be some nerves with the crowd anticipation, even for a professional. The new song still has the LP vibe to me.

Go Go Penguin are pretty interesting. -
Just a few more thoughts to add. Yes, it takes drive really well, but you can also get a lovely plummy sound out of it too. You can easily get a full sounding vintage 60's sort of a sound, or a more modern pop sound, but it's never too harsh. There's a smoothness to the top end that you don't get in some amps. Laney have really knocked it out of the park for me with this one. I don't think I'll be changing amp any time soon. Volume wise, I had it in mixed mode, each on about 3 or 4 out of 10 into my 212. Any more and it was too much. Lots of power available. It is also total a bargain at £399 in most retailers. They could be charging £600 and you'd still be pleased with the tone and build quality. The headphone out sounds great too, so I'm sure the DI will be of equal quality. I'll give that a try soon. Yeah, just so easy to get lovely tones.

We self published on CD Baby. At no point was there even an option to upload lyrics. It just isn't a thing.

Phwoar! What a sound. Love the amp. Loads of heft and a lot darker than my ABM, but you don't lose detail. It does just what I wanted it to do! It's the best class D amp I've used from that perspective.

Sounds right up my street!

I run a Zilla 212 in a metal band. It more than copes with the demand volume wise. In a past life I also ran it as the main signal for me at functions. I reckon the Hartkes are worth a punt. My only reservation would be that at 15.4kg for each cab, they don't seem that lightweight to me but it is compared to the rig you're currently rocking!

New bass on route from Thomann. Current EU border delays?
MichaelDean replied to DocTrucker's topic in Bass Guitars
Last time I placed an order, I ordered on the Monday evening and it got delivered on the Friday. There was no tracking until the Thursday evening which was a bit excruciating as I was excited and I'm impatient!
