Hi Everyone, Just bought a nice used USA Pbass from Thornybank, so keeping strictly to my policy I have to sell a bass :-( (plus I have some car repairs due soon). So up for sale, (reluctantly) is this nice Made in Japan Q serial number (2002-2004) P bass.

Nice condition, a few dings and scratches but nothing notable.
The neck and fretboard are pretty unmarked.
The bass feels nice and light so I suspect it is a basswood body, which was stock on the standard model Japanese P basses of that era.
Under the hood it's clean and tidy with good quality CTS pots and a switchcraft jack socket.
The previous owner bought this new and changed to black knobs and screws. It also has a genuine white USA scratch plate, which really sets this off.
The bass really plays and sounds good, nice pickups with a healthy output. The instrument has good intonation/set up- no issues there-the strings are fairly recent too. Oh and it comes with a gig bag. So that’s it, any queries, questions etc. give me a shout. Only after a sale on this one, no trades thanks. I’m Bristol based so would prefer collection –Though do have a box so postage could also be arranged at buyers expense. £380 Cheers Neil

Though this was interesting, I have this exact cab and it is a pain at 40kg plus the handles are not central- so lifting it is a pig. What do we all think? looks like the porting isn't compromised. Hi Everyone Just a heads up on some strings I bought cheap on eBAY, which I thought were great value-so I'd share the link. I needed a set for a cheap bass, and though I would take a punt on a set, they seem to be around £15 normally and the seller has a good stock.I'm not linked to this seller- honest. They are only £4.74 +£1.00 P+P . Nickel round wounds on a hex core .045/065/0.80/.100 gauge, they come in a good anti corrosion box. Mine arrived promptly and they sound and feel fine, well worth only few quid as spares etc The Brand is SG (Sound Generation) Apparently they are Brazils number one string manufacturer, some variants are endorsed by Celso Pixinga ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Set-4-Electric-Bass-strings-0-45-100-high-quality-/220873924643?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item336d1ca023 Cheers Neil

Hi Everyone, Decided after much (and much more) deliberation to sell my Fender ’50s “Classic Series” Precision Bass in Fiesta red. There is much justified praise for these basses on the web, the necks are simply sublime. Serial = MZ******* (2009) Made in Mexico. The bass is near mint and my reason for selling is I just can’t get on with the body colour!! I thought about changing the body as the neck is so nice- but I might as well sell it on and get a bass in the body colour I want. Home use only, a couple of dings- one on headstock and one on lower rear, plus a minor scratch but otherwise excellent condition, plays really well with a good low action ( the strings may be original-can't remember ever changing them). Full spec here:- http://www.fender.co...rtno=0131702303 The bass has the classic 50’s wider C profile 1.75 inch (44.45 mm) neck at nut , vintage reverse style tuners and an anodized 10 hole scratch plate. You can see a stock 13 hole P bass scratch plate also fits (missing out a few holes). I used it this way for a while with the tortoise shell scratch plate, but it is sold with the gold original anodized scratchplate. [s]I’m thinking £400 [/s]Now accepting offers for this bass delivered, or a discount if you come around and collect (preferred) from Central Bristol (BS3). We can also discuss case options depending on postage/collection. No trades thanks Any queries etc, please PM Cheers Neil.

Hello, I quite like Schaller pickups, they are not so popular (yet), so they tend to turn up cheap on Ebay ttc so it's worth keeping a look out for them. The PB6 has 6mm (1/4") pole pieces like the SD QuarterPounder, I picked up a set for £15 used. They may be expensive new. Hello, Anyone know anything about the green bodied bass Jeff Ament has been playing with Tres Mts? Seems to have an old left handed neck and big chromed humbuckers, sounds nice on the Sirius FM tracks on Youtube - but Jeff is a great understated bass player. Seems a waste having Doug Pinnick of King’s X playing guitar, it really could be a bass playing supergroup... Cheers Neil
