I checked, and Yup! A Casio DH-100. I liked that thing. It did what I needed - at budget price. Several times, audiences gasped at the noise from that bit of plastic, not realising it was connected to six or eight thousand quid worth of synthness. When you took that thing home, did you only have the built-in sounds, or connect it to MIDI equipment? IMS, the YAS 52 was the exact sax I used to play a bit, and I too think the sax is not too demanding to start on. I see it as very forgiving in that everyone gets a sound out of it. I'd played the flute for a decade or more before, but liked the sax better and wanted to eventually be as cool as the Dutch sax player I'd seen who put his soprano flute in the horn of his tenor sax. Sadly, I never got a tenor, and only ended up building my own flute floor stand, where the flute would stand vertically over a thin stick covered with flute cleaning cloth. Yes, I'm lazy AND smart. I'm impressed you would practice that much on a new instrument. I've never managed that. Do you NOW feel better about abusing other people's time with your reminiscensing? In case: mission accomplished!
"No time to catch your breath" Rats by The Kinks
I'm impressed, RR. I'd already thought it was too difficult, and needed replacement.

"Kill or be killing faster sins correct the flow" Yes - Gates of Delirium Must have been an easy one indeed, since even I, officially lyrics deaf, recognised it immediately. New one: "Like snakes crawling through the grass"

Yes and no. Haven't used it for two decades or so, but I used a cheap one that was almost a toy. A Casio, if I'm allowed a guess. The thing not only had MIDI, but also on-board, bad, sounds as well as a built-in amp and speaker. Nice feature was that it was easy to switch between vari-blow and fixed volume. Despite its limitedness (limitedity), it worked a treat. My background was playing the flute (and a tiny bit of sax). Congrats with WX7. Fine instruments if memory serves, and a lot more sexy than my plastic blob.
I'm losing faith in Basschat rapidly as I read this topic. In fact I think it is sucking the life out of me.
I know that you know, but for young readers: this has nothing to do with BC! It's that cable on your computer!
Because they don't start every explanation with "We believe..." and end it with "Just £3.500!"?
Good and central point, but the following text:
But you cannot buy expensive and identify it from cheap by sound alone.
reads as snake oil the other way to me. I'm not afraid of a snake oil seller I don't believe. I'm afraid of a technician who claims to represent physics and whom I do in fact believe. In reality (s)he is a mere human using subsets of understanding, and I'd better be very aware of that.

Hey Mel, All the best with this! Twas a bad read, but one turning to what seems like well founded hope. You go, girl! Bert
You can get specially trained woodworm to do it. I think.
This is correct. For dry wood, you use any of the common ones. If however, you've recently played the bass, only the Pentarthrum parallelum huttoni will do.

Going by accounts on here, it's wise to phone them beforehand to make sure they have a slot for you.

Yes, I understood, and asked you whether you were satisfied with how that worked out, or at least I tried to ask you that. -
Welcome, TheBassManuK! I can't think of anything mildly and limitedly amusing right now, but you're still very welcome. Enjoy the site! Bert OK then, have a dog:
The magic of Yes is the composition, arranging and vocal harmonies not the playing.
Aye. Yet, when Steve Morse did a Steve Howe track on a Yes tribute album, and seemed to have a much easier job than Steve Howe ever had, so to speak, on first listen the track did seem to lose something. Hm. May have to revisit.
Setting up a sound on a bass and rig on its own is pretty much a waste of time unless you actually go out as a solo player, so I put the stereo up loud
How did that work out, do you find? I'd guess that it was a pretty great compromise when one doesn't have live circumstances at hand. Haven't tried it yet though. -

Thanks. Incidentally, after you, I followed the link myself, and found this gem of a cut thumb that seemed to fit the subject matter quite well: "Don't overdo it, and watch yer fingers!" -
I won't be beating around the bush with this: Are you ready with your big balls, Discreet? You're all screwed up, and it ain't no fun. Oh, wait! Sorry, baby! Please don't go!

In my band (link below) NO band member gets to just play whatever he likes. A song is talked through, and for each tiny segment, we reach agreement about the terms for each individual player. That way, we never have to tell people to play less or more busy or whatever. Each one has their part, and we just put all those parts together. Works a treat, or should I say ...? -
Welcome, Sir Ser! Don't be so evasive. What do you like best: AC or DC? (for me it's DC. I'm the sensitive type) Anyway, enjoy! Bert
-
Welcome, AME! I like you already. Your intro was impressive in its low-key, down-to-earth openness. So (one is not allowed to start a sentence with that word, mind) you're into black metal, eh? I'm sure you like some Dutch nymph metal too, like Nymphicus Hollandicus! Enjoy the site! Bert
Funnily enough, eBay just messaged me saying we have been sent your item, please tell us your correct address and we will send it back to you, I replied saying that I have already taken action and explained what I've done so I don't want the item and return it to the seller. I made it very clear that I do not want it, I said it 3 times This G3 is simply amazing, it sounds and plays just as I hoped!
Congrats with the G3! I hope it serves you well. Did you get any response from eBay after this? I'd imagine they could be quite stubborn about it.
