1. Welcome! Me, as a pro bore, I have a workday boring Pecision as well as a weekend boring Precision. You could learn stuff from me! Enjoy! Bert
2. Yeah, stick around, feel welcome and enjoy! Bert
3. Welcome, Goran! There's at least one other Goran on here already, so soon you'll be in the majority. Enjoy! Bert
4. Welcome to BC! Enjoy! Bert
5. Sorry for the confusion. I was just being a bitt silly and playful about the very concept of splitting units into two components, after I realised one would do it with an amp, but hardly by separating the neck of a bass from the body, or the speaker elements from the enclosure.
6. I hear you, but in the great BC tradition of answering a different question, please allow me to put forward the notion that you're attacking this from the wrong side. If you want a component system to have a discernable effect on the sound, then the amp is the last factor you want to change. Better start with splitting the bass and/or the cab into two components each. These separates will have a dramatic effect on your sound. Also, while I realise it's not a popular subject, I'd also have to mention cables. Chop them in two, and be in awe! Glad to be of help! (Just couldn't resist.)
7. Left-handed, but can't handle left-handed basses. Edit: just realised I can't handlle right-handed basses either! So: are there basses around that don't require one to handle them? A synth maybe? PC-software?
8. Welcome, Mcarp, from a traitor. Enjoy the forum! Bert
9.
I wouldn't want to carry anything bigger than a small 1x12" on a bus.
Bah! Just take the SVT 810! It's just a matter of leaving all the Ritters at home.
10. Now I'm not a technician, but IME deep lows mean cab volume, and cab volume means cab weight. If you need to avoid that, then AFAIK, we're talking money. Since 750 quid is way outside your budget, my guess for the time being is that keeping the Fusion is the way forward, unless I or hopefully someone else comes up with an idea that is better. The Barefaceds, Aguilars, Bergantinos and Vanderkleys on this planet all come with a price tag. Could you do with a little MarkBass? They're voiced with personality (some hate them, but I love them) and very loud too. Also often a lot cheaper than aforementioned brands. Edit: Discreet beat me to it. Also, have you already been in Leamington to test some stuff? Mark should have enough in stock.
11. Have you already seen http://basschat.co.uk/topic/466-the-lightweight-cabs-thread/ and similar threads? Can you narrow it down a bit as to what style you're after? Like the Focus, or different? Is the budget important? Also, does it have to be a 210? The Vanderkley 112MNT is terribly loud and weighs nothing, apart from reportedly being a fabulous cab. The 112EXT reportedly sounds even more Hi-Fi, at the cost of volume.
12. Welcome, Ian! Bert

18.
Hey look they do a Musicman one too!
LOL! I'm soooo getting a white Bongo and equipping it with a... er... "custom" picture pickguard!
19.
been playing bass for a year or so and using Rocksmith and RS2014 as my sole output.
Just want to add the RS2014 is one Hull of a cabinet, but it's overkill really. Personally, I think TC Electronic should never have built it.
20. Welcome, James! 12 strings, eh? Tuned B E A D G C F Bb Eb Ab Db Gb certainly? Enjoy! Bert
21. Welcome, Dave! Nice intro too. Enjoy the forum! Bert
22. Welcome to the surfac then, Gas! (Gas is always welcome of course.) Bert
23.
It's not your job to change them or impress upon them them the error of their ways. All you want is their custom , not their friendship. Give them every opportunity to buy, regardless of their manner, and then politely show them the door.
I think I'd largely agree with this, but still: in my mind your job is not only to sell something but also to do it in a fashion that allows you to "keep up your self esteem" so to speak (I lack other ways of describing this better). In some extreme cases, where obnoxious customers try to remove your dignity, I think it's a good idea to withdraw from the dealings, and probably to confront them - not in the way of "you must change your ways" but more like "I'm outta here". To put some numbers to this: where I come from it's regarded as a given that 5% of customers are complete arses. I'd reduce that to half that number, and have personally allowed myself to confront 3 customers out of roughly 1,700.
24.
How did that happen!?
I don't know personally, but from what has been written about it previously, I get the impression that this happens most to people who post from tablets and mobile phones. Did you? Also, I have no idea about how and why it happens. Software bug maybe? Slight problem with compatibility?
25.
now stop reading and go get yourself out there
Class! Almost like all those humanitarian organisations whose main purpose is to stop existing.
