1. Great gear, Sgh, but now we can all see what a liar you are! It's not .. . . . : . . . . . but .. . . . : . . . . : Do you like shoving the Streamliner through Vanderkley? I ask, as that is what I plan on doing soon. 112EXTs in my case.
2.
Does anyone else play.?
Yup! I have some very old gear (mid 80s), in a Yamaha KX88 MIDI keyboard and a Roland MKS20 piano module. Great gear, but I would still like to get a new piano that has everything in one unit, including an amp and enough good speakers. However I tend to use my money on bass gear given half a chance. The piano is a fantastic instrument in my mind, and I would hate the day I am without one.
3. Thanks for posting! Finally someone who plays like I do! (banging on bass body - - though in my case it's an attempt at reaching the strings). Seriously though, though I don't dislike bass solos like others do, and liked this well enough, happy and effective as it was, what moved me most in this vid was in fact those low double notes. I love relatively tight intervals in the lows.
4. As you may expect, I'm not able to say anything about culture and reasonable expectations in the UK. But IME, in order to limit the amount of noise experienced on the other side of walls and floors, in addition to reducing the bass frequencies, the best thing is to augment your cone area, IOW to buy an extra Compact. Though it may well be that my experience is too limited, and this idea defies physics. Me, I always use two cabs, one placed in ear height when I stand, and one in ear height when I sit (leaving just enough space between them for the amp to sit). I then play sitting/standing within one yard from them, them pointing directly at me. When I check with the neighbours (my ex and my daughter), they'll always tell that they hardly heard me, and it wasn't annoying at all. Of course my ex isn't a grumpy stranger, and also she herself is guilty of playing a classical guitar every now and then (which I wisely do not criticise ).

10.
It is not based on repetition and most people like repetition.
At it's core, music is based on repetition, so that statement in that exact wording will fall in the very first stages of a serious discussion. You may wish to rephrase.

Hi

Welcome, grogg! bert
12. Huh? Wo' we say?
13. Welcome, Ben! Yup! The pattern is you'll have an SR3205 within 60 months from now. Sadly, limited data resource access disallows more specific statistical extrapolation at this point. Enjoy the fold! bert
14. Welcome, Chris! (I'm happy you added "was a piano teacher" to that. ) bert
15. Welcome, John! (btw, it's not called "expand". It's called "turning the volume knob clockwise".) bert
16. Welcome, aalam! Great intro. Enjoy the bass and BC! bert
17. Ours was a viola da gamba (bass viola much like a cello). Happily I was allowed to take it home to practise, and so could ditch the bow, hold it horizontally sitting on my lap, and pluck it as if it was a real instrument. Also, it helped with a microphone into a mixer and that signal fed into a Small Stone (IMS) and certainly a Big Muff Pi. Great days! BTW, music teacher was not too convinced about my progress with bow playing.

Welcome, smokin! bert
19. New tracks to be included on the re-release of The Next Day, which is coming next week. I hope people outside Norway can hear these: http://www.aftenposten.no/kultur/Her-kan-du-hore-fem-nye-later-fra-David-Bowie-7356175.html#.UnDxdxAb_kc
20.
Wouldn't make me a better player, but would make me a better person.
Nonsense! You're a better person already. It's the Geddy Lee!
21.
Visual fail, so it's a no from me
Doesn't matter to us at all. We still need out gut shots!
22. Welcome, Julius! bert
23. Those who do not love jazz are time and again described as lesser specimen, but in fact some of the most musical people dislike jazz. I think it is much about what way you listen to music, and to what degree you can accept the enormous amounts of weak choices that are made in jazz. I personally can accept those weak choices (and love jazz), but some people just can't.
24. Welcome, Andy! bert
25. Two 112EXTs, a Midget and a Compact. Yup, I'm looking forward to it.
