1. Sorry, should have thought of that right away of course. The thread, in Dutch, is here: http://basgitaarforum.nl/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=48720 and the mp3 is behind the large fonted word "KLIK" under the picture of the basses, or here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16926252/Mp3s/Instrumenten/Bassic%20conversation.mp3 Now the stereo isn't perfect, but from left to right: Bongo, TRB6, Ex Factor b, b
 2. Hey Mark, Welcome to the surface then, and ... breathe! Yup, fuzz=good. Never overdo it though. One or two still audible tones per evening would be nice, but screw the rest indeed. OK, keep enjoying and be no stranger. best, bert
 3.
Doom metal wedding band? Hmmm...
My Dying Bride
 4.
What would you do with 1000w?
Suppose you play bass in Wishbone Ash ... best, bert
 5.
hand job done
That's off topic though, cameltoe.
 6.
will this harm my bass amp or speaker in any way? I remember someone telling me that you can't play an electroacoustic guitar through an electric guitar amp, cause the different/lower frequencies will harm the speaker.
Nope. A bass amp may have been designed and built for a different voicing, eg. adequately representing low frequences and limiting the output of the highest frequences, but that's all. Also, you may expect the output from a guitar to be lower than the output of a bass. As to the electroacoustic guitar, I don't know what ever might lead someone to say something like that, but I may be missing something. In my mind: An alectroacoustic has no lower frequencies if it's not down-tuned. Of course an electric can be down-tuned as well. There are no "different" frequencies. No amp or speaker says no to chosen frequencies within the spectrum it's built for. The pickups of an electroacoustic with steel strings may work exactly like those on an electric. If microphones or piezo pickups are used, nothings changes as seen by the amp, let alone the speaker (pedagogical lie, but you'll forgive me). The only thing I can see is a possible mismatch between guitar output and amp input impedances, and augmented noise from turning up the gain more. That said, I might be wrong. I was wrong once in '63/'64 too, so I'm not perfec. best, bert
 7.
I posted this link last week, but it seems to have vanished.
Yeah, I thought someone had done so, but couldn't find it in a search. and concluded I'd seen it somewhere else. Nice to know I was right. Then, I'm always right. b, b
 8.
I think my biggest pleasant surprise was a Carpenters live set with some great drumming and a couple of fantastic sounding guitar solos.
I think I know which show you're talking about. In case, it was great, and those songs with the guitar solos rocked yer socks off - comparatively speaking. Do you remember whether they had motorcycles riding on stage at one or two points? Apparently, the show that was distributed widely on TV in Europe, was later released - at least on CD. There's also a CD set of outtakes that is reported to be just as good as the "official" release. Me like. best, bert
 9.
I have edited the post to acoustic/electric to avoid any confusion!! [...] So where exactly is Soegne?
. You silly man! Shouldn't edit a perfec pos! Soegne is just left of Kristiansand, and actually its neighbour community. You're not by any chance actually telling me you were in that very good duo from the UK that did Kristiansand at the end of the eighties, are you? Nah. Would've been a bit too accidental, I gather. b, b
 10. Paul, stand back from that mobile!
 11. Some here might be interested in a quick buck. er ... Sovereign! http://barrydallman....-ive-ever-seen/
 12. Hey Brian, Welcome! I like your style. Supposing, that is, that you DI, and the guitars are unmic'ed. ;-) Enjoy the site! best, bert
 13. That would have been nice to have heard. If I find some contact info, I'll ask him for them. Will let you know how it went. Coincidentally, on a Dutch bass forum, a guy posted a track to compare the Ex Factor with the Bongo H and a TRB6. I went straight for the Ex Factor, and I'm the sad loser with the four Bongos. :-) b, b
 14.
There are 10,000 people who know what a bass line is?
Yup! And 16,000 others on BC who do not. best, bert
 15. The most loved solution for me was a headphone with built-in amp, mono jack input, stereo line input, and mix and tone knobs. It was cheap as well as portable. These days I don't like over-ear headphones that much anymore, and I switch between using either: bass --> iPad with bass amp software--> in-ear-phones and, maybe surprisingly: bass --> Orange Micro Terror amp --> two Orange PPC108 cabs placed rather closely to my ears. Whoooooo!!! Good luck! best, bert
 16.
Told you I was clueless!
Just remember that old adage "There are no clueless people - - only people asking clueless questions". No ... wait! My guess is some buyers will like the idea of a regular neck, and may bite. But if the neck is not a perfect fit, I think most will be inclined to not take the risk - even if there may not even be a technically sound reason for being wary with this combination. Like others, I have no idea what the best thing to do is, but I would start with trying to sell it as a complete item before taking the risk of only getting rid of one of the parts. Good luck! best, bert
 17.
whether the two cabs are in-phase or not
Bah! Who cares. best, bert
 18. Hey Emily, Welcome to BC!
my name is Emily...
Job done then. That will get you friends.
Having only one bass rather sucks.
Ah! You're one of those, eh? Those ... w i s e ones ...
That's all I can think to say for myself now.
It's all good, E. Enjoy the banter as well as the happenstantial exchanging of ye info. best, bert
 19.
I once tried a 3rd, making the whole thing sound like a 1st inversion, it made my head hurt and I had to sit down for a while. I think it was Jazz....
20.
Ok i think ive worked it out. This is me with the wife and inlaws!
Congrats! Luvly pic. OK, I think I've worked it out too: You didn't mean the usual FLTR but weirdly chose to adopt FRTL !! Anyway, you DO have lots of charm, and I guess your wife's father is really just her young stepfather? Good luck with your new marital stage! ... State! Status! best, bert
 21.
Start with Jamey Aebersold playalongs. Google it.
This^ if you want to be as good as I am. I used them and stink at playing jazz. Just kidding! I think they're seriously good, but I also think you do need an idea of what is expected of your role, as in requiring jazz listening experience. Problem with CD players normally being you can't change the speed, I'd say it's best to convert the Aebersold tracks to MP3, and play them in a program like Audacity - at low speed at first. I was adviced to not start with book 1, but sadly can't find my books right now to pass on the advised ones. Others may chime in. Edit: I do remember book 2 and 3 being amonst them though, and upon checking, find that book 1 now comes with an extra CD with the music at considerably lower speed. Good luck! best, bert
 22. Hi Neil, Welcome! I'm sure you'll find loads of nice stuff to read on here. Beware though: start smoking BC and you risk taking it intravenously very soon. As to your quest, are you sure about the Spirit? If I remember correctly, people warn against it as being far from as good as a Hohner. At least, after reading, I went for a Hohner myself. You coulddo a search in the Bass forum within the Equipment section to check this. Anyway, good luck with it. Enjoy the site! best, bert
 23. Wow! Great initiative that is. Thanks for posting! best, bert
 24.
Leave it for a week or two. Absence makes the heart grow fonder! Maybe swap some of your gear around?
That is very stupid advise. Must be, coz I agree totally. best, bert
 25. When a great bass also is a design classic, then ... er ... er ... Idunno, but at least it's a great bass and a design classic. Well done. Congrats! best, bert
