Hey Hrodwulf, Can one say "welcome" in a situation like this? Anyway, it's great you're being upfront about it. For advice, I'd say just stick your description on General Discussion, seeing as there are different pieces of equipment. The more info the better, and pics will help too. Upload your pics to PhotoBucket and copy and paste the IMG links from there into your post. Make sure you mention that you'll be selling on here only after having paid the fee. You'll be met with a more positive attitude then. Selling on BC is hard these days, but I gather it has its own advantages. Don't expect people to just send you money, so make sure you provide alternative ways to do this in your ad. Good luck! best, bert

Thanks, guys! Glad to know I can't afford it, as it sounded very nice. That bass has a characteristic I love: it really wants to play, just like any other good instrument. BTW, that guy is Jan Erling Holberg, a Norse bassist who has a project, aptly named Jan Holberg Project, involving Joe Lynn Turner, and it's on Norse TV from this evening, as a series. Looking forward to it. Must be the first ever series about a bassist who's bored with everyday office life, and despite being a family father, chooses to follow his muse at age 47 (all the others I've seen are about people aged 46). Wow, this is certainly interesting, but I have to admit I don't have them. I only have those bad ones. Seriously though: yes! Bad days nothing seems to work. Good days everything reaches the sky. My ex used to recognise this, and remark that she liked my lesser days better, as I tended to play more conventional music those days. Gig-wise, I've never found a link between my own perception of my playing and the audience's. Only once have I experienced that someone in the audience had been present three days in a row, and had the same perception as I about those three gigs, but he was a muso. best, bert

No, I don't have issues with being a little ashamed when admitting something. Seriously though, and I don't know it it's similar enough, but though I love classical music, and it's the only type of music that I master, I can't for the life of me contemplate playing it for classical audiences. I dislike classical audiences, and would much rather play happy, funky music for happy, funky people. Funk is a good style for that. best, bert

This is the main reason I have so many basses. A song is not learned until I can play it on all of them. Learned this when, as a keyboardist, I had trouble playing well-practised music on a different keyboard. Problem was easily solved once I realised this, as after that I consistently either played the stuff on different instruments, or played them using different sets of techniques so as to "mimick" playing on a different keyboard. Worked wonders, and I became a much more usable player after that. From what I read on BC, my feeling is that more bassists should adopt this keyboardist trick. best, bert

No, I don't gather I was born a bassist, but I was certainly "born" a musician, and I've always loved bass frequencies. Brought up on Bach, Beethoven & Brahms, I noticed I loved Bach's basslines more than most stuff. Then, Chris Squire happened, and I finally heard popular music with interesting bass parts. Loved his sound, and loved the bass from that moment. Yes music was what immediately steered me towards rock music. Skip a decade and a girlfriend noticed I was always constructing bass sounds on my synths, just as she was herself. Skip several decades, and both she and me now play bass (or try to, in my case). best, bert

So you've already played for more than two years and still reckon there's more to learn? That sounds like mighty mature for a youngster.
