1. Whatever is wrong with the good old Blue Collar Friday? It's not as if we're all suddenly allowed to wear casual white stuff on Fridays, is it? Or how was that again? best, bert
 2.
'they were too expensive' [...] didn't consider me a proper customer.
Something, somewhere must have gone horribly wrong. You're really, positively sure that he hasn't heard Prescott? Seriously though, he was lovely on the phone when I called him once, and his basses are too expensive to me, and I noobly am not a proper customer. (Though I have decided I will buy off him as soon as I have sold my cars.) Sounds like you two didn't blend very well, or he had just married. Whenever I experience something like that, I give the shop in question one more chance to change my impression. After that it's [s]genocide[/s] [s]murder spree[/s] Captain Charles Cunningham B. best, bert
 3. . A not too recent pic of me during a pub gig. Crowd shanting "Christianfaker" or something all the time. Huh? Wazzat? best, bert
 4.
I mean an avatar although I don't know what an avatar is.
It means that we wanna have evidence that the English deity Pestie really has descended from the heavens. अवतार (ava-tāra), innit? I mean, you do know your Sanskrit of course? A picture will do. We're easily satisfied. Glad to be of help. best, bert
 5. Hey Schpudd, Welcome! Now you may as well grab your comfy chair, coz shooting is not required just yet. SR300 reportedly is good stuff with lovely EQ. I lust after one myself after having read about them. Anyway, enjoy! best, bert
 6. Hey Terry, Welcome! Good choice as well, methinks, that you allow us to be your brethren and sistren. We'll do our best, some of us. So, what kind of experience do you have on the bass, and do you have some original gear we need to see? Many here dig gear porn, see. Enjoy! bet, bert
 7.
I don't think things work like that in the far East.
Indeed they don't. Also, in China, when pressure upon a certain producer or exporter is felt or sensed, production is moved to an unknown place at lightning speed, often just a few miles away from the previous place, but maybe slightly more in the backland, and very hard to find for westerners trying to have an impact. OAN: Demmit! Where's Harriet?!?!?! b, b
 8.
Hmm. That was weird. I must have been drunk!
Clairvoyant, perhaps, and right now you don't understand it anymore? BTW, How in the world did a laughy smiley get into the quote? No' me wot don' tha' b, b
 9. Hey Donkelley, Welcome! As said, BC doesn't discriminate so much. Also, if you just state that you are indeed Canadian, you should be totally safe. Please spread some wisdom, and do partake in the banter. BTW, what's that with the ugly finishes on US Subs? I've head about it before but am not aware of what they consist of. Are they shine through, or bad versions of the regular colourful ones? best, bert
 10.
not many people know this, but he actually started out on saxophone.
(Demm! Beaten to it. That's what you get for being slow and lazy to boot.) How was Bill Maynard to work with, Nigel?
 11.
You have to see Lofoten. It's breathtaking.
Damn you racist! He has to see Lofoten and Vesterålen! b, b
 12. JH prefers me to tell the inquring punter: - "It's a Jazz, but only a Squier. One day I'll get a Custom Shop! They're bloody fantastic" rather than: - "It's a 4003, but only a Rockinbetter. One day I'll get a real Rickenbacker! They're bloody fantastic" I guess this means they have very limited production capacity. I've said it before, but all I've ever lusted after was: Rickenbacker, Rickenbacker, Rickenbacker, Rickenbacker, Bongo, StingRay, Streamer, Thumb, Corvette, Hohner B2, Jazz, Precision and some more. I own or will soon own: Rickenbacker, Rickenbacker, Rickenbacker, Rickenbacker, Bongo, StingRay, Streamer, Thumb, Corvette, Hohner B2, Jazz, Precision and some more. b, b
 13. I wish some of you would finally understand that good EQ'ing means to push every band to the max. Those and the volume knob. That way, your gear WILL find the frequency holes the others leave you for your bass. Simples. Sorry - couldn't resist. b, b
 14.
Lol. I can't stand the piss people try to pass off as beer. Someone called me a hipster for drinking IPA. If that is the case, I'm a hipster. But I doubt it, I don't drink it ironically.
LOL. Great post. Hipster, eh? How do they even manage to invent so much tripe. Me, I love IPA. Can't find too many of them locally though, but do find enough types of Nøgne Ø and enough Belgian ales like Westmalle Tripel. Yummy. Spike, don't be like some Dutch friends of mine who, whilst staying with us in the extreme South, opened the map one morning, and proclaimed they'd have a day trip to Narvik by car that day. b, b
 15.
Why would I drink Mack beer when I can drink Nøgne Ø?
Magne, it's official: I love you. b, b
 16.
Err, well I was pissed enough to accidentally create two introduction threads 4 days apart :/
LOL. Recognised your name, but am ashamed to say I didn't even remember it was from an intro thread - whilst not having touched a drop for many days! Bloody fantastic! b, b
 17. Nah. More a fan of weird greens, I gather. Right now working on my poopoo picture pickguard for a white Bongo. It'll be ace, I tells ya! But seriously, I know zilch, but do try to buy what takes me fancy. They're said to be fantastic basses, and I love their design. Bought one SH and loved everything about it, especially ergonomics and the 4EQ, so bought some more. You seem to have three great basses. Are they comparable, you'd say? b, b
 18.
I have no idea what that means but it sounds rude
Of course it's rude. It's Norse. It can however also be desperation, like when he talks about his stock of Mack beer. b, b Edit: rats; they beat me to it.
 19. Samme her de siste to årene. Rett fra vinter til sommer. Vitenskapen mener visst det er en sjanse for at det vil bli sånn mye oftere, også her nede. Fæ'vennen er full av det. b, b
 20. Hey John, Welcome from another noob. You came to a really informative site. Lost of stuff to read, and lots of people to answer your question, or to guide you towards the right gear to fit your needs. A good way from being able to play in a band? Bollocks! You like jazz, don't you? Just join AMM or Evan Parker, and you'll be alright. Enjoy the site! best, bert
 21. Hey Adji, Welcome! Sad to see you're in South-East Wales. The contingent from there will soon take over the world ... ... and BassChat soon after that. Good you at least have exquisite taste in stringed instruments. Is it Sterling Silver? Not Egyptian Smoke, I presume. (mine are Dargie Delights I and II, and Sapphire Black) Anyway, have a great time here. best, bert
 22. Hallå harsta'gøtten! Velkomm til BC. Mine Nårsk ær nått så bra såm jur Engelsk, menn jai hoppast du will trivast hær ( ... og nå får vi se åssen disse folka greier seg med gogel trens let. ). Velkommen fra den andre sida! Våren bryter såvidt gjennom her. Og der? I hope you'll thrive here. As a wise man said before me: they're (Generally) lovely people. Dunno about many Norse folks here, but I know of several foreigners living in Norway - like myself. Anyway, do partake in the fun. Don' be no stranger now. best, bert
 23.
Start off with lots of money......!
Perfec
 24.
Hope he reads this and sees the damage he has done to his own company.
Hm. Not so sure about that. He's fully aware, and possibly has a team of people calculating the pros and cons. b, b
 25. Not on bass, but maybe still relevant: - depping in all kinds of music, and on different instruments - teaching - steady money but it takes a lot of time away from playing, so it's a mixed bag - depping in all kinds of music, and on different instruments - playing in church every sunday plus weddings and funerals - depping some more None of those would give an income alone, but together they made me survive. Never made income type money playing with a band or playing my own music, and all proceeds from radio and tv were regarded as accidental extras that would get me an LP or two. best, bert
