1. Hey Paul, Welcome! best, bert
2. Hi Geoff, Can't add anything. Welcome! best, bert

4. As far as I'm aware, Ashdown's CL range is their high quality, British built series that spawn the same type of classic sound as the defunkt LB series (Little Bastard). The defunkt LB-212 got fantastic reviews, but was only made in a limited number. I didn't think the CL series comes in a 212 format, but I may be wrong. I personally love the LB and its carefully rounded but not dull sound, but can't compare it to the Ampegs. Have tested it with Ashdown valve, Orange hybrid and Promethean discrete amps, and think it works wonderfully, but can not be specific about the CL-410/414h - - merely expect that they will be in the same league and of the same type of sound. If correct, maybe it might also partly explain the seeming lack of interest in reviewing them. The LBs did get reviews. Also, the CLs are very new (IMS a few months old only) and probably still have a limited user base only. best, bert
5.
I think I was well within my rights to kick off at having my actual character questioned to the point of slander though (And by a moderator..Oh the irony....) But onwards and upwards, all water under the bridge.
Water under the bridge, eh? Is that why the thread title clearly suggests Kiwi is not lovely? Is that why you feel the need to repeat your oversensitive response to an interwebs remark? Is that why you feel the need to use constructs like "well within my rights" and "to the point of slander"? Well, I don't buy it. You could simply have said: "Kiwi, mate, I don't know what happened, but as far as I can remember, I've never done what you think I've done." We all know what you opted for instead. The pressure on Kiwi must have been enormous. Myself having been on the receiving end of similar, potentially income threatening remarks, I surely think I understand your feelings. They can however be dealt with in vastly better ways. best, bert
6. Hey Tom, Welcome! I'm sure you'll have a great time here. Just remember tomatoes are great in fruit salads even though they're greengroceries. best, bert
7. Oh, no! Another newb! Download times are augmenting excrutiatingly, recently. We really must do away with a few thousands unused accounts soon. Anyway, Welcome, colonel. I'll have an Islay. Cheers! Enjoy the site. Read a lot and ask a lot, and knowledge will be sent you way. best, bert
8.
and the responses from the BassChat crowd was vehement hatred.
Hm. I'd call it reasoned dislike rather than vehement hatred. Good reasons too. best, bert
9.
borked?
Shhhhh. We don't want the Bork to know that we know they're here.
10. Hey Robin, Welcome back and welcome! Your etikit is fine, as is your basskit. No worries. Now join the banter and the occasional info exchange, and enjoy it. best, bert
11. Leen, you're OK. It's not that you lack intellectual capacity, but just that you lack old age. Us old ones can still remember when the radio DJ announced the first proto punk songs as The New Wave in British Music, and we were longneckedly looking out for Punk Proper to emerge from Proto Punk's future ashes. I guess one had to be there. b, b
12. Hey Kev, Welcome back to the dark side! The light you saw was behind you. Be careful where you go. Enjoy! best, bert
13. Hey Manuel, Welcome! best, bert
14. Hey Andy, Welcome! Good ramblings, though some elements were less than uplifting. Let's hope your enjoying playing the thing will continue. Enjoy! best, bert
15.
Oh and how long before Marcus decides he fancies a Rickenbacker instead? or a Modulus, GB, Status, Fender etc etc
I'm quite disappointed that you would ask a tasteless and inconsiderate question like that, when everybody knows it's on Tuesday. b, b
16. Oooow. You are soooo seling that to me, and I'm officially a burst hater. Are you aware of the Date of Birth thread on the EBMM forum? http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-basses/1254-music-man-serial-number-database-520.html#post915684 If you ask nicely they'll not only provide the date, but also the configuration and where it was sent originally. Enjoy it! best, bert
17.
Sometimes I wonder if some people can read simple stickers like "Fragile", sometimes I wonder if they can read at all.
Huh? best, bert
18.
Erm... I took a look at the website, but I'm still not clear what material is being used.
Of course it's ink they use. I'm flabbergasted that you even need to be told. best, bert
19. Yeah, at this price point, I expect a simple and cheap lowpass filter, with a few dB/Octave. But no-one would ever state that the tweeter can be closed with the EQ of the amp, so... But yeah, it's probably just bizarrely worded. Google Translate even maybe. b, b
20. Here's what I found on Thomann: You'll see the text says that the tweeter may be "closed" (as in switched on and off?) with the Color switch on fitting amps (as in some Ibanez Promethean, Beta Aivin, Harley Benton or RedSub (White Horse) amps) . I can't remember even having seen demands for a special cable or whatnot. Also, the amp manual says nothing about it other than that the Color control knob adjusts the overall tone colour from vintage to modern. I don't believe it, and think it's quite illogical, but am open to being corrected. best, bert
21. If "song" is allowed to mean "any type of composition", then: It totally depends. I night start with just a chord or an interval, and "build the road as I walk on it". Other times, I might develop and repeat something in my head long enough so I've made myself a picture of the whole thing that I then might have a chance of possibly being able to write down. Ideas are never a problem (as in that gazillions of them pop up every day), and it doesn't matter what style or where I start (Top Down approach, or Element Commands Structure approach), but finishing the demn thing is always very time-demanding if I write every note down, which is near always. best, bert
22. Hey Carlos, Welcome amongst the living and posting! Keep on enjoying! Oh, and we want to see your basses. We love basses so much that some of us even play them. best, bert
23.
Weed out people who just want 'to be in a band' because 'being in a band' isn't what being in a band is all about.
BC Famous Quote. best, bert
