1.
The farce is strong in this one.
2.
Local band [...] starts doing the paperwork announcing that he will be scoring me for each song and recording it
. Never EVER be in a band like that. Are they the Miles Davis Quintet? I took a job once under similar circumstances. Never ever again. Kudos for trying. Congrats on escaping. best, bert
 3.
.. Nina and Frederik, [s]dutch[/s] Danish warblers ...
Danish-Dutch, I'd say. best, bert
 4. Can't tell you what to do, but can tell you what I did in a similar situation: I moved to Paris. Now this didn't last long (didn't get the applied-for study loan), but at least I did what I could. How about London? best, bert
 5.
Context is everything:
Yup, and I'd imagined something like this. Throwuppingly empty and poser-like. In such a way this faux-violin shape does fit the faux-Mozart-metal. Not that I don't condone music that some people love, mind. But if great stuff exists, then by definition not-so-great stuff exists. b, b
 6.
Jesus! Is this not THE WORST looking guitar you have ever seen? http://www.gak.co.uk...lack-onyx/77543
I'm not entirely sure. It's fugly indeed, but within its realm does seem to have some style. The one below lacks even that, and the child-like decoration makes it even worse, imho. best, bert
 7.
A year and a half seems like quite a long time to make a bass guitar.
Then again, he recommended the guy, not the building course, so me gathers they don't do a lot of bass building together. best, bert
 8.
I finally signed up as i`ve been playing too much guitar recently and have become rather too fond of myself as a result.
. Best. Intro. Evaah. Welcome, Dave, to the surface of this thing. Breathe! And post please. This looks relatively brill. best, bert
 9. Hey T-bird, Welcome from another noob. This place is full of info, most oftenly presented in a friendly fashion. Ask and thou shalt be served. Enjoy! best, bert
 10.
I think he plugs his bass into the headphones socket
Yup! My other amps have the input on the left, with the exception of the Terror Bass, but that one doesn't have a headphones output, so I'm secure there. b, b
 11. Orange Micro Terror. Look and guess what I do again and again. best, bert
 12. Squier decals in my MIA Jazz.
 13. Thanks for posting his pic then, so we know who to terminate. Your address again? Congrays with the bass! I've been ogling them for some time. Cheap as chips, and your decription makes them even more attractive. Red of course. best, bert
 14.
Now that is interesting i never knew pups were sited at node points, thanks for that.
I was actually thinking they'd gone away from it in part - these days putting them wherever the Hull they wanna put them. Back in the days, I was taught that a harmonics test would reveal a classical guitar, and I assumed the same went for basses. However, BC recently taught me that between bad and good harmonics is a good set-up. best, bert
 15.
I disagree.
If it's the Van Morrison song you guys are talking about, then I disagree with you. best, bert
 16. Bonjour Yvette, Welcome to BC! Just start reading every thread that seems interesting in the different sections, and ask questions along the way. Enormous amounts of info will come your way. Always mention a budget - this is the thing most forgotten when people ask for advice. At any rate: there is no real need to buy expensive gear. A £3,000 bass will often perform just as well. Enjoy! best, bert
 17. Welcome to BC, Rob. Enjoy and partake indeed. best, bert
 18. Hey Dougie, Welcome from yet another dinosaur. best, bert
 19. Love this. Thanks for posting! best, bert
 20.
Where is that 'like' button
Here you go, mate:
 21. Just wanna say I think G&L and Epiphone are overdoing the leftie thing a trifle. Also, it feels like disrepect to all lefties. Maybe I'm too stern in these matters, and should loosen up a bit. ;-) best, bert
 22. Why in the world would you want to play with these amateurs? I don't get it. Congrats, man. Sounds exciting. best, bert
 23.
Keep practicing & you can then move on to "In God's Country".
Noooo! Not "In God's Country"! That's Real Gunslinger Virtuoso stuff !!! Seriously though, I'm really not looking down on this. In fact, U2's basslines were one of the inspirations that made me pick up the bass. I had this idea that simply being in a position to play stuff like that was enough for the whole project to be worthwhile, as I love the U2 bass so much. best, bert
 24. Yeah, hot indeed. Enjoy!
