1.
WTF Bert - do you have a flying camper van?
Only on South Stack I do! b, b
 2.
Oh yeh - forgot to say......... it rains a lot here
Just move to Holyhead. There, the rain blows away, keeping you dry. [written in my camper van on South Stack, just seconds before landing again - in Valley] best, bert
 3.
Another update.
Thanks lefrash! You expressed what I couldn't. ...but if I could've expressed it, then of course I could've expressed it a lot better. Me, I couldn't hear the difference between the real seventies big muff in my head and this emulation. Then again, I reckon it's the single most easily emulated effect, seeing as we're talking sum and difference frequencies, or what those are called in foreignish. best, bert
 4.
It's only fair - he's shown a picture of his tractor :-)
Hey! That's my CAT you're talking about!
 5. Hey Camille, Welcome to BC! You want serious chats, eh? I'm outta here! I hope you enjoy the site and the multidirectional information flow it channels. When everything on the site works again, then please show us a picture of your bass, yes? best, bert
 6.
only to stumble and do a backwards roll into my other shed!
Arthur!? Are you really Arthur Jackson? BC is honoured, I'm sure. Get well soon! best, bert
 7. Cool stuff! Looking forward to the next one, with grape jelly, marshmallow spread and peanut butter. Subscribed. best, bert
 8.
Yeah Bert, how is that progressing then?
Sorry, Leen. Nothing has happened. I do have the string lying here, but haven't put it on yet. Too busy trying to sell the bass. I guess nobody wants a bass with three roundwounds and a flat B.
 9.
Thanks Leen. Fifer eh? My wife is a wee bit familiar with Kirkaldy
Ouch! I came in too late to warn you: Don't mention the war! Don't mention Kirkaldy! Sorry, mate! Edit: Demmit! Leen beat me to it! Hate you, my friend! best, bert
 10. Hey Tuone, Welcome to BC! Great introduction you wrote. Thanks. You'll fit right in here, I'm sure.
I am a great believer in keeping my bass lines simple
Ah! Adam Claytuono! Should have named your other band, though. That modesty is not becoming. Anyway, enjoy the site and the banter! All the best, E-bert (I still only play the low E, but have just received a tip on trying a flat B or something, Idunno).
 11.
Eh, decided its not for me unfortunately. Now up for sale.
Hey Shock, Could you say more 'bout that? I'm convinced it's interesting to others. best, bert
 12. Separates for the win! Others have already told why. In part due to my bad back, I sold my MAG 300 combo with 4*10 that was roughly 44 kilos. Then bought a Little Bastard (14.5 kg) and two LB-112 cabs @ 14 kg or so. Three light lifts is better than one heavy one, and, more importantly in my case, gives better spread and direction to the powers that else would ruin my back. Very satisfied. best, bert
 13.
as soon as you staart pumping out those fat bass lines
Sorry, Leen, but "staart" is not Welsh.Try: "as soon as you dechrau pumping out those fat bass lines" best, bert
 14. . . Helo, mister Oldman, syr! Croeso! You must be a man after my heart:
Must admit i don't play 'traditional' ukulele type songs and have a lot of fun seeing how far i can push the sound of an electric ukulele using effects and technique.
I've done likewise ever since I found the spring reverb in my first electronic organ, and up to playing classical music with prepared pianos. Lotsa fun. You being Welsh and old and having that bassy things hankering, you'll fit right in. Ask away! I'm sure millions of BC'ers are in line already to help you get a good start. Enjoy what BC has to offer! Or is that "offr"? Hwyl be upon you. best, bert
 15.
Strange..! I don't recall having played drums with you before..? (...but you've certainly got the right attitude..!) Where have you heard me..?
But Dad?!
 16. 23RD PSALM FOR BASSISTS: The Lord is my drummer; I shall not rush. He maketh me to lay out in tasteful places; ... He leadeth me beside cool meter changes; He restoreth my "one." ...He leadeth me to the right repeats For His name's sake. Yea, though I read through the trickiest road maps, I will fear no train wrecks; For Thou art with me; Thy ride and Thy snare, They comfort me. Thou setteth up a solo for me In the presence of mine guitarists; Thou annointeth my lines with drive; My groove overflows. Surely good feel and swing will follow me All the tunes of each set; And I will dwell in the pocket The whole gig long. AMEN!
 17. Hey Xock, Welcome to BC! Yes, there is a lot to learn here. The site is very large. I hope you will enjoy it. best, bert
 18. Kevin Gilbert & Thud: "Waiting" - live Kevin Gilbert is way, way too unknown. Inspiring craftsman. This video prob won't show that, but here it is anyway:
 19.
Are they pretty easy to use then?
I think so. But I also think one must read a little in the manual to get a good start. For example, the earlier made rmark about the sensitivity is very important. It's a real steal, and I think everyone understands that, but this thread contains a lot of uncertainty. My take: it's a well-made machine of great usability, and with overall good sound. It will never do better than a range of separates, but in my mind it is a steal already at 400 quid, let alone at 109. That and the tube really glows! Worth the price of admission alone! That's enough! I'm gonna pull it out right now, and experiment s'more! b...
 20. Yes, yes, Dan. We're all happy that you're still here.
 21. What an interesting turn of events in this thread. Thanks, guys. While Sean Malone has been a hero of mine ever since Cynic's "Focus" came out, I had no idea about Steve DiGorgio. Also had no idea about fretlesses being used. Thought Sean played a Warr or maybe a Stick. You're gonna cost me money again, demmit. best, bert
 22.
Hope these were also Bontempi
Yup! Great toys those were. best, bert
 23. Ah! Thanks, guys! best, bert
 24. . . Welcome to BC! Man, I love Rubbi's basses, specially his Hat model! How on earth did you get hold of one?
All the gear but no idea
You're here only to make fun of me? Anyway, enjoy the banter and ask away. Answers from others, as I have all the gea ... Oh, you know that. best, bert
