Hey Wayne,
Welcome to BC. You'll find people very helpful here, and you might even have to tidy the kitchen table so one of us can have a go at one of the Arias with his filthy and eager fingers.
Anyway, enjoy this GAS-inducing spot in the universe.

That was quite the sad follow-up to the other thread.
Seems you made the right choice since their words were empty on some level - or the communication was lacking.
Good luck with the next step!

Hey He-Man,
Welcome to BC.
Must check out the RBX774 - had never even heard of it.
The amp will come in place. It's buyers' market right now, and enough of amps on the For Sale forum.
Enjoy the site!

Didn't know that. Thanks for the heads-up, and DONE.

Yeah, you bettah say hullo!
Welcome to BC!
Sounds reasonable in these moderne net times that you should investigate some first. Just save money till you have roughly 5K quid ready, and we'll sort out some rather OK basses for you.
Enjoy!

Hoi Rob,

Good Lord, what great outfits in the previous posts! It's fun playing with those things. No need whatsoever to wear suits and ties 'n' stuff.
You're in function bands all of you, right?

Most missed the question [/quote]
C'mon, don't be so harsh, please. We're only bass players!
Additionally, you can safely overlook what we all wrote.

Bah!
How can our lives be good? You still haven't married us!
Congrats on your first year!
You may now proceed and congratulate me with my first year and a few weeks.

Yep!

Thanks big time!
I can now finish the "manual" and get it out to her today. Tomorrow my new Bongo will arrive at her house, and she'll start her bass career with that plus a Squier CV Jazz '60s.
Not bad, I imagine.

Sounds like the question of an idiot, and of course it is.
Haven't got my 4-band HH Bongo here, and am writing a manual for another noob about a 3-band HS I've never seen.
So: can anyone please tell me what the different knobs on the HS do?
I'm guessing, FLTR on right-handed bass:
- volume
- pup blend
- bass (+mid?)
- treble (+mid?)
Or?

Hi Stevie,
One Love right back atcha.
Welcome to BC, the greatest ever basschat forum in history with the name basschat.co.uk!
I see a lot of love for the Westones here on BC. Back in the days I was stupid enough to just assume they were just another brand not worthy of investigation.
Anyway, join the banter and enjoy your stay.

I may sound like a broken record even though I have the kilos to prove I'm not, but I keep stressing that taking care of the voice is the most important thing, closely followed by a motivating steep-as-possible learning curve.
It's experienced teachers that will give you this.
How is a YT-film going to listen to what he does and correct it right there and then? How is an instructional video going to work out a reasoned and professional plan for the specifics of his actual use of his voice?
See the teacher!

Someone I occasionally play with as a dep was marvelling at 'all those effects pedals' I was using. What he was looking at was a tuner, a DI box and the receiver for my wireless unit. Not a single 'effect' in any of them!

Bloody fantastic! Must get me some of those.

As to Schoenberg, he broke his own rules and would exchange a theoretical note with one that sounded more musical to his ears. As far as I know, he never admitted this.
Same goes for Xenakis, BTW, and he never admitted on doing so.
