1. John, you're not worth them. Be a christian. Send them to Southern Norway this very minute. Please. Congrats, man! best, bert
2. Aww man, I feel guilty enough as it is without you rubbin' it in! People publish so much on so many places, and even trying to read something here inbetween customers is a hard task. .... OK, I'll try right now. No promises. best, bert
3. Hey Rod, Dunno. I think we kinda felt interesting knowing we were stalked. But g'day to you too. I liked "seriously(ish)" very much. As long as one enjoys it, it's OK, right? Now, be welcome and please enjoy! best, bert
4. Hi Teegee, Welcome! I suppose you want to understand what's he's on about, yes? I think you came to the right place. Enjoy! Ask anything you need to ask if a little search doesn't help. best, bert
5. Info? Me? You must be the most sarcastic bass tard on BC, Leen! Anyway, welcome to BC, Steve. From reading your intro it's apparent to me that you'll have a great time on here even though I disturb the peace here way too often. Nice to read that you play bass, btw, and as Leen says: it's very good for the environment too! Enjoy! best, bert
6. I wanna marry you too, just like Bluejay and SpaceChick!
7. Sorry I forgot to tidy the room before they recorded this at my house. Seriously though, this is GAS inducing. Thanks for posting. best, bert
8.
There is no excuse for owning a headless bass
Stephen, you know I love you like a brother, but this ... ! The cricket bat is one of the coolest bass designs in the history of mankind. Fact. Regular bodies with headless necks are another story, but I'm not gonna empty my stomach just to describe them. best, bert
9. Essential: overdrive, fuzz, chorus. Then: compressor, octaver Then: a distortion if needed, and maybe a phaser or flanger, but I personally have used them for way too long, and am bored with them Then: a power supply for this! YMMV etc. etc. best, bert
10. I've used these for decades, and love them even more than I love my ex. There's another version that I like better, with two long arms with crocodile pinchers, so you can keep two objects very close to each other. best, bert
11. OK, but how do I turn on the function to ignore the sigs with all those nice Yammie BB's that I wish I had?
12. That's not funny at all! Also, we should have the death penalty back, if only for those baby oil producers! [/rant] best. bert
13. Hey Gorbyrev, Welcome to BC! That was a nice story. Sometimes we just get lucky. Now teach us some, learn some, and take part in the banter. best, bert
14.
Ha ha ....good one bert!
Bowing gratefully, but: You forgot to welcome Jair-Rohm, you... you ... best, bert
15. Hey Meenie, I have NO idea. Full stop. But welcome to BC! Don't be a stranger, eh? best, bert
16. Hi Jay, Welcome to BC! I can imagine you liked what you saw here. I like it too. Congrats on the Jazz! I'm a believer in them. Now be a good boy and do some posting here. best, bert
17.
I have spent the day in London with my other half Still managed a visit to Wunjo bass lol
Pix of the other half and all the basses you bought, please. Trust doesn't come for free, ya know. best, bert
18. As a bass player: As a bassist though: (ordered 3 basses, 2 amps, 2 effects, 1 board power supply, 2 cases. Will suffer for this. Will enjoy the stuff.) best, bert
19. You made me realise that I've seen myself as a bass player from day one: when I decided that the bass was to be my new main instrument. Never thought about it. It was just like that. Probably has a lot to do with the fact I left organs, pianos and synths that day. Fun thing is, I could find myself not playing synths for years, and not care at all (though I was always thinking about music). Now, with the bass, a day is lost when I haven't played it. best, bert
20.
I recently enquired about a pre-owned LB212, and the owner kindly weighed it for me. It came in at a fraction under 28kg, which is twice the advertised weight. Be wary if weight is a deciding factor.
Whoa! Thanks, mate! Weight is essential, as the friend who's gonna borrow everything is a petite lady who works in IT. Happily, she is able to press down the keys on her keyboard, and win over me in a catfight. best, bert - fetching his LB30 tomorrow morning and plugging it in a MAG410 for the time being. Sceptical about that, but hey.
21. Hey Dunc, Welcome to BC! Share some wisdom and buy some basses! best, bert
22. Thanks very much guys! This has really helped. Not being able to test them, I'm going for the Little Bastard that is on special offer. Can always get hold of an OTB later should I want some serious wattage.
And the matching LB212 cab. A match made in heaven......
Ah! There you have it. I'd been wondering about a special cab for the LB, and here's my answer. These are not imported to Norway, so I'd never seen one. On the Ashdown site both the LB 112 and the LB 212 are under Legacy, and under Dual Tube one can find the VS series. I notice the VS models weigh quite more than the LB, and have a "road-ready" description. They seem a lot cheaper though. LB 112: 09 kg VS-112: 17 kg LB 212: 14 kg VS-212: 31 kg Q: would the LB 112 do as well? There are some left in UK shops. Q: would the VS series do as well? (I already just ordered a super cheap VS 112 for a friend of mine, but ... well ... ya know ... GAS) best, bert
23. Thanks very much, guys! My listening experience in a shop today taught me again what I'd forgotten: that amps may well need a lot of volume before showing their true character. Can't test these two though. I have planned on using the new amp almost exclusively at home only, so I don't need the OTB's 500W. I'm guessing the Little Bastard will sound well in the living room, and that the "overkill" aspect has to do with price, yes? There's one on offer locally where I basically get it at half the price of the OTB, which makes it more tempting. Would the OTB sound well at low living room volume, you think? I guess it won't. best, bert
