Great news. Thanks for posting. One has waited six years for this album to surface, and reportedly the wait was worth it.

Need help with listing an instrument for sale!!!
BassTractor replied to Dacre's topic in Introductions
Hi Dacro, Welcome! What Gust0o said, plus: make sure the bass is available for testing, and let people know where it is. -
If it makes you feel any better, the serial number of my Bongo is F12647.
SHED! I've got a cheap Nigeria clone!

Another great, inspiring read. Thanks for posting! If this continues, I'll stop smoking BC and will start injecting it straight into my veins.
Am I getting something different than hitting up an HH Stingray?
If I understand what's written on the Music Man forum correctly, then the StingRay HH has retained much of the typical SR H sound in its pushiness, despite the bridge humbucker being closer to the bridge than the original H was. Same forum tells me that a Bongo can never imitate an SR and an SR will never do a Bongo. The Sterling is said to be inbetween them. In my noobly experience, the four band eq on the Bongo is especially important for the two mids when choosing character. The bass and treble regulators are just that, and of course important enough in their own right, but still. It's not too difficult to come close to a P sound for example, so whatever the deviation, functionally it will do old Motown. Remember: noob talking. Part of the joy in owning a Bongo is the comfort for the plucking hand. For me personally it's also the nitro neck paint that feels very quick and very secure at the same time. Haven't tried with sweaty fingers though. Plus it's a Bongo fer cryin out loud! Y M Does V

Congrats! Can't say I'm surprised really. Even to my noobly senses, the Bongo evidenced soo immediately that it's a beast, and even I realised it plays the bass for me. Love the Ferrari and concerto notions. I may use them. You tolerant about copyrights? BTW, CB, do you know what that colour of yours is called? I'm pretty sure it's the same as mine, and I couldn't find out about my colour definitely on the EBMM site. Your picture was a lot clearer.

Well? It's already Tuesday, and we haven't heard a thing!

No, I didn't know at all. Just had a wild guess after reading:
I dig vintage gear that´s why I have a couple (make that 5 70´s fenders), 2 80´s Stingrays and a 67 Silvertone
I also guess you have an SVT from the seventies. How did I do?

Eight years or so before there was a real band rather than bands made for specific occasions. My first real band was mainly for accompanying the youth choir in church, but we had a blast and it gave us much needed experience. Ultra cool to put electric and electronic instruments into the church room. Drums even! This was not exactly the norm back then in '71 or thereabouts. Lots of trouble before that got sorted out. It gave me the confidence that I could do it, and I'm happy for the experience.

Gigs, GAS and a reminder that we are all individuals ......

LC? Hm. I'd rather see Debs' face as she leaves the premises with the fretless. Must've needed a zipper to get that head remounted. Great story! -
Got my Bongo 4HH today.
Congrats, Cloudburst! I'm sure you'll enjoy more and more. OMG indeed.
I keep dreaming of running a Bongo 6HH Stealth into an Orange Bass Terror 1000 and Barefaced Super 12
Sorry, Liam, but you've got no clue whatsoever, and I can prove it: that's almost exactly my dream as well (Bongo in Tangerine Pearl though).
Mine is going to stand out like crazy as well (all Bongo's should!)
All Bongos should! +1
Tangerine Pearl/Black Plate/5 HH
... or even with the white plate. Uneffingbelievable! That said, they should offer a certain shade of grey plate to go with the Tangerine as well. It would look otherworldish.
Wood is good, concrete is f***ing stupid. The whole argument/debate is f***ing stupid. Believe what you want and be happy.
Are you being serious? I for one find the thread fascinating. IMNSHO, wood can be good, but it can be stupid as well. Concrete can never be stupid, as it provides a virtually non-vibrating environment and thus by definition is interesting, if only for purposes of comparison or research. The whole argument/debate is not stupid, but very interesting IMNSHO. The stupid enters it when people believe on authority or prejudice instead of hard evidence. I haven't yet read the whole thread, but up to now I find I've read many interesting views inbetween the prejudiced ones, so I'd like this thread to go on please.
