1.
Give it a try, you might win a book!!
Ah, OK then, but it won't be funny. It was a failed attempt to say the value will plummet to the degree that it goes underground. The machines used to dig huge holes in the planet are not called 'rockets', but are often called 'moles', Dunno the technical term. best, bert
 2.
I can' be the only one who didn't understand a word of this
My take: only people with a perfect understanding of English can't understand a word of it. So it surely isn't my responsibility. I think I better not even try to explain. I'll just dig an even bigger hole for myself. best, bert
 3.
This thread is useless without sound!
Don't be lazy! This thread correctly assumes that at least some pro-activeness on the part of readers can be expected. Buy that bass. Buy those strings. Play. best, bert
 4.
I can sign them... value will rocket
Fine, but technically those machines are not called "rockets" but "moles". Before anyone asks, they're very inefficient in rock. best, bert
 5.
Swiss Army Bass! :-) With built in bottle opener please!!
Ah! Thanks! Finally somebody deciphered the Music Man bridge for me. Handy! best, bert
 6. Hello Cazzag, Welcome to BC! Yes, chat to us. We're ready. Please post a picture if you have some exciting gear that we don't see all day. Enjoy the fora! best, bert
 7.
Ridiculous name too, imagine limiting an instrument to one genre...
Huh? So "Fender American Standard Jazz Bass mate" is a genre? And here's me thinking I knew everything about music. I guess it's music from the island of Tanna then. Correct? best, bert
 8. Hi Jim Welcome to BC! OK, a belated welcome then. Thanks for the story. Nice read, that. Now continue to enjoy. best, bert
 9.
Wires connected at one end only are often called aerials!
Ah! Good point, I gather. Thanks! best, bert
 10. Hi Sam (?), Welcome to BC! Enjoy the banter and share some wisdom if you feel like it. best, bert
 11.
the 6 pole is the 'preferred method', as it's neater and you haven't got components floating around
Thanks! Yes, I can see the 'neater' bit - it's much like in math and programming. Space provided, I'll go for it - when the time comes. best, bert
 12. Hi Subcurrent, Welcome! Good luck with the sale, and who knows, you might wanna stick around and enjoy the flowing to and fro of info and idiocy. best, bert
 13.
My old Ferguson Garrard LS Mk I plays 78, 45, 33.33 and 16.67. You slowed your LPs down? I sped mine up!
Of course you did, but you write notes a lot faster than I do. I'm so slow that even 16.67 does not always free me from having to play the track once more before I've written down all the parts, especially in orchestral music. best, bert
 14. Hello Bud, Welcome to BC. You must be the only one here with a passion for bass! I hope you enjoy the fora. best, bert
 15. Hahaha! I said you'd fit right in, and you do. Thanks for the character reference, Mark. I'll start using that text right after I've found a wife. best, bert
 16. Why not just use a 3-pole? Can't see any electronical drawback, and in these narrow cavities, component volume normally is a huge issue. Am I missing something about what a loose cap will do? best, bert
 17. Though I love guitars and own 1.5 of them, I can't be bothered to use time on them right now that I could use on the bass instead. But later, when I grow up, I'll learn to play. Yes. No doubt. Is gonna happen. Sure of it. Yup! best, bert
 18.
Seems no one plays 33.33 at 45 any more. Must be getting old.
I hate my sister. Really hate her with a vengeance. She threw away my vinyl player that did 16.67. Imagine! Never ever seen another one that did that. Now of course we got computers, but still. 16.67! Oh, headphones by a huge margin. That or some heavy duty electrostatic speakers. best, bert
 19.
they seem to put out less low end than any other strings I've tried... This is actually a good thing for me!
Oh, man! Now you've done it. I for one will miss you! best, bert
 20. Nice one! Thanks! So that would also mean one could have both of them, and a tiny switch between the pots, yes? Looks like there's space enough for one. Correct? best, bert
 21.
HEY! First in! Woo.
Only coz I type slowly! (and too much) Great pic! best, bert
 22. Hey Paul (can I call you Paul?) Welcome to BC. Yup, you'll fit right in. Sliding pup? Yes, love it. Roughly 4,628 sweet spots between bridge and neck. Enjoy the site! best, bert
 23. Hi Carl, Welcome to BC! As you may know, the Laneys are wonders with Eminences and new cases. Likewise I have a fantastic axe (the wood chopping device in this case) after my granddad... Enjoy the forum! best, bert (Yes, my father only ever put in a new handle, and I just shifted the blade. FANTASTIC axe!)
 24. Hi Permafunk, Welcome to the surface then! Let's call it even. I completely missed your randomly posted ads. best, bert
 25. Love that sound. Could survive on it. Some damn fine tonemachineheads! best, bert
