2.
Uh oh! It's gonna kick off again!
Ok then, so what tonegloves are best for metal?
 3. Yeah, Scott Devine does this. I wonder why...
 4.
If you look at their website it says that is a correspondence address only
Then again, I didn't say a department IN the UK, but a department FOR the UK. If they did set up a new service and/or sales department for the UK and got new semi-English-speaking employees for it, this might in part explain a perceived difference between Dutch and British customer satisfaction. It wouldn't make it right, mind - just possibly explain.
 5.
There is no BAX UK.... they have registered an address but that is all..... all sales are dealt with in Europe
That's interesting. So that might indicate they've set up a department for the UK that doesn't function.
 6. My own experience with Bax (the Dutch variety) has been far better than my experience with Thomann, BUT I see a pattern: people complaining about Bax tend to complain about Bax UK - not about Bax NL. So there may be something about British Bax or about British shops or about British customers, or a combination, Idunno, but the pattern seems to be there.
 7. The Myrtle Corvid fuzz has a switch, and reportedly its three unmarked knobs are Volume, Tone and Sustain. Do the knobs have the same functions as those on the original Big Muff? Can anyone explain what these knobs do exactly? From hazy memory, I thought Volume is not just volume, just as Tone isn't just a frequency balance thing, and Sustain has more to do with fuzz than actual sustain. Thanks for any help!
 8. Someone who tried one at NAMM reported that the FS keybed is toy-like, and not as good as the slim keys on the 86% size version. If confirmed by others, that would remove a lot of the attraction. I guess it's an 86% size desktop for me then, with my personal choice of full-size MIDI keyboard.
 9.
Yes....Close to the Edge. I played my original copy, when it first came out, so much I literally wore it out and had to buy another. I know every beat, every note and every lyric by heart. [...] If I could only own one album for the rest of my life it would be Close to the Edge, without a doubt.
This, but remove the lyrics part and add a few vinyl copies because they got worn out. And yes, without any doubt. Album of my life (not necessarily the one I feel is best).
 10. Full Size: - available from February - all three colour schemes - each of them having all three filter alternatives - to be sent worldwide - US$ 1,599 For that price, I personally expect it to be the KARP PCBs put into a bigger box, with rerouting for the user interface hardware.
 11.
Why would it be a scam?, even Nigerian princes living in the States have birthday partys requiring a band!
I wouldn't play for one. Your (I mean skidder's) choice of course, but make very sure he produces a valid birth certificate. You know, he might not even be a real Nigerian! You can also check the exact colour of his hair. A real Nigerian's hair will be all-black and will not have "rays of gold" in it.
 12. John McLaughlin plays so fast my speaker cables are T5 spec. Love Mahavishnu Orch.
 13.
Yes I am stupid!
In my humble opinion, it's not you who's stupid but Ernie Ball who are stupid with the graphical interface of their custom options box. Then again, who am I to claim you're not stupid! You surely know best yourself. Glad you found it. I hear good things about these necks, but never tried one that I know of (though I now suddenly realise I never asked my basses what necks they had).
 14. In the Custom Options box, click on Configuration, and a new form appears where the necks are listed in a pull down menu.
 15. Be aware that these necks are FAS, and not for everyone.
 16. Full Size lim. ed. officially announced now in the Electronic Musician mag, with fittingly a full size ad. So I'm counting on an introduction at NAMM, which I assume is in January. 17. Korg have semi-announced a full size version, to be built in the USA. No further details yet.
 18. After having done a great job at staying away from the Gear section for a longer period, I feel strangely GAS free too.
 19.
and vow to use it from now on whenever I can!
That's the spirit. I think common use of it is afoot!
 20. Thanks! Hadn't heard about her.
 21.
I look forward to finding out what toetroddenly means .
Maybe I've overstepped here, but I footloosely meant that people reacted as if their toes had been trodden by someone.
 22.
I worked in Austria and Germany a lot and my colleagues rather oblique literary references left me baffled as I didn't have the background to know them, and it's not something you pick up in school
Worked? School? I'm not sure I have the energy to look those words up. I recognise this the other way round: coming from circles in Holland where oblique literary references are the order of the day, I suddenly lost an audience when moving to Norway. Initially I thought this was a cultural thing, but happily I found out later it was more innocent and just that Norwegians are stupid... (Seriously though: it IS a cultural thing. People with more education than I have could react strongly toetroddenly. )
 23.
I wouldn't know that it isn't your first language.
Thanks, man. You know, when writing, foreigners like me can use the sub-set of English that we feel just about comfortable enough with. When reading however, we're on our own. I personally look up some stuff, but sometimes just assume. Some BC members' posts are hard to understand most of the time, whilst other members' posts are normally well-understood. That's not to say I look down on those whose posts go over my head!
In this context 'miserable' means 'depressing' or 'melancholy'.
Thanks. Aye, I got that it could mean that, but then was tricked by "humbug", which I thought just meant nonsense or garbage or similar. The song I posted is worse than garbage. It's the stuff you get when people who're already stupid idiots in addition try to act cynically - a truly venomous combination.
 24.
Think you've missed the remit BT. OP looking for miserable, that was just sh*t.
Yeah, I was wondering about the meaning of the term "miserable", but was comforted by the OP's word "humbug", which BTW I may have misinterpreted as well. Bah, if only I had Wiktionary on the shelf!
 25. Here's one, but: Brace yourselves! Calling this garbage is being mean against garbage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0G0NidIbIA
