1.
Isn't the Streamliner 900w into 4 Ohm?

Yep, the Streamliner is 900w into 4 ohm. [...] it's interactive with itself (if that makes sense),
Oops! Thanks, guys! I've updated him with this now. Yes, Muzz, that makes sense. It has no friends, and talks with itself.... just like me now I think of it, so I'm keeping it! But yeah, I remember that aspect from BC, and had the same experience. The GBE is more straightforward.
 2.
I'd take the Orange over a Streamliner any day.
Shshshshshsh! The potential customer already has a Terror Bass, and I need new glasses! Seriously though, I've told him I believe the Streamliner basically has a different character rather than more guts, just in case he thinks 900W into 2 Ohm is a lot more than 500W into 4 Ohm.
 3.
I assumed that these were like hot cakes as they seem universally loved.
Yeah, my impression is that they indeed are hot cakes also here in Norway - even though Genz Benz were not imported to Norway AFAIK. Maybe it's just that my price is too high. I don't think it is, but one never knows. A new Tonehammer isn't much more expensive, and that might just be a part of the explanation.
 4.
The Orange is much darker and grits up quickly. Very 'thick' rock tone. The Streamliner ca add grit, I real shines as sounding like a high end tube pre-amp....and will be able to offer clean pristine yet warm tones.

I'd agree with what has been said - the OTB was quite limited in its tone and the EQ didn't seem to do much either. The Streamliner had a much cleaner tone available that you could choose to grind up with the use of the 'Gain' button on the amp, or a pedal.
Thanks to you too, guys! I had this vague notion in the same rough vain, and you three worded it with heft. I'll just translate what you have said, and tell him that. I'd already told him that my rough take was that the Streamliner stayed clean longer and was way more flexible, but the point about the high-end tube pre was new to me (though I did tell him it sounded high-end to my ears, with presence), and I'd forgotten about the OTB's EQ not doing that much.
Good luck with the sale. Not that you should need it! Lots of people love those amps!
Thanks, M@23 ! I think I do need it! "Fun" fact is that my GBE 750 went for the asking price to the first who showed an interest. The Streamliner gets a lot more attention, but still, people don't wanna pay to get one. At some point, I may just go "Up yours, you effin' spoilt Norse brats!", and rather offer it to BC instead. Thanks for the help! Bert
 5.
Steamliner = more headroom, round, clearer and cleaner. Orange = growly/grindy, won't stay as clean at volume.
Thanks, man! That fits rather nicely with the impression I had from reading on BC and from the few minutes of experience I had with them on my Little Bastard cabs.
Also, I'd tell him to do his own homework! It's not like it's hard to find info on either of those two.
Nah. I think it's a reasonable question. He didn't boss me around or demand I provide the info. He was just asking a question he assumed I knew the answer to. Reading about both individually is not the same as comparing them directly, which he assumes I've done. Likewise, I do not boss around or demand in this thread. I just hope someone has compared them, and is willing to share the knowledge.
 6. Trying to sell my Streamliner 900, and a potential customer asks me to compare it to the OTB 500, but I don't have experience enough for a good answer. Can anyone help me here? My personal impression from the few minutes these amps have been switched on was that the Orange basically had one character, but suitable to what I call a broad pop/rock range, whilst the Genz seemed way more flexible to me. Correct? The customer asks about guts - probably as in felt power and the like, but I have no idea. Can one say something in general without knowing the exact cabs he's gonna use it on? What would you tell this guy? Thanks!
 7. Coz it's physics, that's why! For your roof beams, are you gonna buy 2*4 or 2*8? (sorry if this is not English)
 8. Sometimes it's (partly) about whether the candidate has personality enough to say "no". IMHO that too is interesting with candidates.
 9. It was never really the synth for me, but this new vid from a different source than Behringer is dragging me even closer to actually using the money on one, if only as an addition to the collection, and I'm still an 80s pads hater and a Juno hater : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEdVFSh5uiI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEdVFSh5uiI
 10.
This is my 2004 version
Thanks, Agente. I can't read it, but is does have a different setup than the one from the Behringer site, so I guess you too have the guitar version. I now seem to remember that this should be visible in the setting examples. Could be wrong of course.
 11. Forgot to mention that Korg have confirmed TWO desktop versions: Rev. 1 and Rev. 3. This is about colours only, as all Rev.s contain all three filters. Haven't read an explanation for the lack of a Rev. 2
 12.
Here you go, post #21 to download the bass manual
Thanks, MacDaddy! That thread was a lot younger than the ones I was searching in. At any rate this confirms that the one I downloaded from the Behringer site is correct. Solved! Another job well done.
 13. Thanks for responding, Dave! I can't really remember what was wrong with it. Also, I can't really compare the PDF with my own, as my own appeared to be in Chinese, and lacks the settings examples. That said, the word "guitar" seems to reverberate in my brain. Maybe the text or part of it was about a guitar version - if such a thing exists.
 14.
I'm thinking it could be a stingray neck on a sterling body.
Nah. It's a Stingray body alright. A Sterling is slanted in its design, and has more of a slab approach. I think it's just someone bought an S.U.B. and wanted it to give the impression it was one from California, but failed at that. Might be the seller, or might be a previous owner.
 15. Seller/trickster states the serial number is "sterling 8038536". I'll check on the Ernie Ball forum for you, as I suppose you're on the Warwick forum.
 16. To my eyes it looks exactly like a Sterling by Music Man S.U.B. Ray5-BK/M. However, I haven't looked at Chinese knockoffs (Dasyatis sinensis) lately, so it might be a newer one of those as well. A any rate, someone is trying to fool someone else, even if it's only with "careful" wording and bad English. The term "S.U.B." is never used in the ad, and the word "Sterling" only in the title. Mucho piscarado! I'm sure he bought it straight from the Ernie Ball factory in San Luis Obispo, FLORIDA.
 17. As a bassist who couldn't play bass, I think I had an audience of 100 - 120. As a world famous classical organist, my largest audience probably was 6 or so. Nah, 3 more likely.
 18. It was often written on these pages that the BDi21 manual that comes with the unit was wrong. Would the file called BDI21_P0294_M_EN.pdf downloaded from https://www.music-group.com/brand/c/Behringer/downloads?active=Downloads also be wrong, or would that be the correct version? How can one tell? Yes, I tried the search function. I know it was mentioned often, but I still couldn't find it. Thanks!
 19. Bass trombone with valves? Wattage? Brand? Congrats
 20. I see a bad new thread idea here: who now despises the music they loved when they were 16 years old. I reckon it would be a short thread.
 21.
I doubt it matters what answers you gave, the results are probably just random. They just want your clicks on their pages.
My guess as well.
 22.
For this reason, I find your survey greatly flawed, and wonder whether it can really be considered scientifically rigorous.
23. Thanks, guys!
Are you in the Rickenfakers facebook group?
I am now! Karl too had sent me there, and I'm trying to find out how fb groups work before asking my questions there.
Have a look at http://www.retrovibe...ts/pickups.html
Thanks, Skybone! That seems like incredible value. The Seymour Duncans are 150 quid a piece in Norway - slightly over budget I might add. :-)
I had the selector switch issue with my Rockinbetter 4003s tribute. Replaced it with Switchcraft. Also jack socket replaced with Switchcraft. Personally, I find the "s" version of tributes and the real thing much easier to play fingerstyle. The Rockinbetter has a much more functional bridge than the real thing though! The contoured top is so much more forgiving on the wrist, than the binding, sharp slab top. The real 4004C11 is even easier for fingerstyle .
Thanks again, Karl! So I'll start with the switch then. Are these standard, or must I measure my own to get the right dimensions? You also taught me something else. I had no idea S versions even existed in Rockinbetter guise. Yeah, that binding is quite unforgiving, innit. Of the 16 basses I've owned, this one is the worst in that respect. Then again, you just don't go on stage and play "Siberian Khatru" on a cricket bat whilst being short and fat and bald... . Wait!
 24.
Lots to choose from but for me nothing beats the tones of the classic Precision, Jazz and Stingray. The ATK isn't far off the Stingray, so I would look out for used Squier Classic Vibe P and/or J basses.
There's my answer right there. This Dannybuoy boy is one helluva resourceful guy! Seriously: I've just sold 14 basses including Bongos and StingRays, and the ones the buyers were most flabbergasted with were the Classic Vibe Ps and Js as well as a Hohner B2B. I'll repeat the wise words from some others on BC: if you go for a Squier Vintage Modified, then do so after trying it out only. Some variation is reported to exist, and I have experienced it myself as well. The CV is reported to be risk free, and that's why I went for those when ordering from abroad. I'm happy I did. Awesome things.
