1. I got Guy Pratt - probably because after just three questions I got annoyed with the quiz and left it.
 2.
I'd buy it just for the little oscilloscope. :-)
Aye. People keep reporting they expected a gimmick, but received a great tool.
 3.
I still really fancy one of these, and a Minilogue. If I manage to sell my Gretsch I might treat myself.
Good plan! The ML's a steal, don'cha think? For me it's on hold now, as I need to have the money ready for a white Odyssey desktop - should they release those. That, and I'm hoping for a Maxilogue, which would fit my use better (4 or 5 octaves and 8 voices at the very least).
 4.
the reassurance i was expecting to find from this thread is sadly lacking
Hm. Some people who are not you like Mark. Some people who are not you dislike Mark. Some people who are not you like Mark's employees. Some people who are not you dislike Mark's employees. It's all in this thread - both the positive and the negative - so why not just try them? There is nothing lethal going on there. All you might experience is an opinionated owner or a disinterested employee, or you might go from there with a big happy grin on your face. Also: you have a mouth.
 5. It even has patch morphing:
 6. Korg USA published a picture on Instagram, and it contains two different desktop versions, so there probably are three. Yay! Saves me from sawing off the keyboard of mine. 7.
Rory!
You got no Taste! Just last week, I mentioned my love for Rory to a musically well-versed (or so I thought) guy in his late fifties, and got corrected: "You mean Noel? Or...?" Kids these days!
 8. Well... even more good things have come from this, you know! These days I often see young families with kids, and the parents are solely occupied with the game. Their kids then play freely on the town square and in the traffic - undisturbed by parents who'd normally spend their time beating them up!
 9. Hehehe. Great minds not only think alike, but also simultaneously.
 10. Also a modest, kind, unassuming and humoristic guy - - a through and through luvverly bloke. R.I.P.
 11. Somewhere - - within these pages, I thought - - a set of pickups was mentioned that was a lot cheaper than the Seymour Duncans, and which performed very well. Anyone able to tell which pickups these may have been? I trawled the thread without finding them myself. IMS they were 150 quid or Mercan bucks per set. The point here is my Rockinbetter wants two new pickups for its birthday, and as a proud dad, I wish to oblige. Though I seem to remember one the the original pickups in the Rockinbetter does not need being exchanged, and at any rate, I suppose the bridge pup placement on the Rockinbetter would ruin it for even an original Rickenbacker bridge pickup? If anyone has any advice, it's received with gratitude. On another note, the pickup switch doesn't work or one of the pickups doesn't. Any experience about this as to Rockinbetters? Would it often be a case of dismantling the switch and cleansing it, or would one normally exchange it? Or do experiences with Rockinbetters teach us that it's normally the pickup itself that is faulty? I can of course investigate everything, but a quick heads up might save me some time by starting with the most common source of error. Thanks for any info!
 12.
OMG the Gert Jonnys from the Dansbands link is Skank Delvar!! Do I win something?
Sadly not: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/110637-why-are-there-not-many-kickback-amps-around/page__view__findpost__p__1024117
 13. It's really no wonder that some have to practise playing their trumpet whilst driving their car on the way to a gig, after obviously not having had any time to practise at home!
 14. This is only one of tens of thousands of similar covers from the nordic "dansband" genre, and I'm deliberately avoiding posting a picture of the dansband band Gert Jonnys. 15.
I am not sure how much it would give me over the blofeld, but for use in the house it would be fun.
Ha! Good point. I'd guess that by large it will probably give nothing or very little over the Blofeld. That's why I personally am not even looking at it before I have bought my much missed Blofeld back. This looks like a simple synth with some nifty tricks up both its sleeves. The Blofeld on the other hand is EVIL.
 16. Now this is starting to look awesome for a bread 'n' butter synth. Loopable EGs triggered by an LFO that goes up and into audio range, and the different ADSR curvings work very well indeed: Edit: Huh? Something new about YT linking? How about this: https://youtu.be/5ZYZl4KPT3k
 17.
Yeah, Mod forbid that an admin might falsely accuse a pro of displaying racism at a gig and despite in being only one man's word against another refuse to retract or clarify the matter.
What a stomach-turningly class-lacking post. Really, really low.
 18.
I played musical saw on the Cobra and Phrases album. Seems like years ago now...
Well, that put me right! I thought you were just the Prescott Kev who played with Derek Bailey. Now I learn you're THE Kev! I must now pull out Cobra and Phases and listen to you. (BTW, we share Derek. He's the guy who asked me what my goal was, uponwhich I answered that it was playing with guys like him and Evan Parker, to which he simply responded: Well, you're not ready!" )
 19. This one is in Norway. Of course it was used in a paper's April Fools joke where they stated all of Norway would get them:
 20. Ashdown showed their usual speed, and early this morning I already had an answer from them stating the older MAGs had an SPL of 98.5 dB. I suppose they mean the Sica BlueLine ones, as I'd mentioned the cab in question has blue cones Another feather in Ashdown's hat! At any rate every MAG 410 I was able to check had an SPL between above number and 101 dB, and thusly all are efficient.
 21.
Excellent ! I have a plus 1!!!
+1
I assume you have a copy of laetitia sadiers "something shines"...
Nope. Barely knew it existed. No food for me or the dog next month, and it's all your fault!
I saw the album sound dust in this beautiful pink book type case so bought it.
That's the very limited limited edition, but maybe you knew that. IMS one had to pre-order it from one of only two outlets. I may misremember though.
 22. Love them! I think I must have all their studioalbums and Switched On collections, and most EPs. I love Dots and Loops like you do, but also rate the two albums before it highly. Special mention for Sound-Dust from 2001. The ONLY drawback with Stereolab is my iPod loving them to death in its shuffle software from OS v.1.22 - - meaning I can never walk the dog without getting a few Stereolab songs - which does tend to become too much eventually when one walks the dog four times a day - now for six years.
 23. In my experience, meet a famous musician four times, and you're likely to feel you've met four different people. Then again, my experience is mostly from classical music circles, not from rock circles. As to Clayton, and written with respect, to me he comes across as more of an insecure man. If true, that could be one part of the explanation of how he can come across as something completely different. It would depend on the situation.
 24. Wow! Great info! Thanks, guys. I've asked Ashdown for the lowest SPL the MAGs have ever had, and hope to get an answer. My experience with Ashdown in such matters has been fantastic earlier, but I assumed the BC body would be a better source in this case. The point here is that a class D amp is to be connected (a MiBass 550). Reportedly, class D thrives with high-efficiency cabs.
