1.
However one thing really puzzles me.
I think it might possibly be explained by the love that still exists for the JX-3P and the Juno. People are still raving about them on synth fora and EDM fora, and describe how well certain characteristics of their sounds blend in the mix. Some even prefer a JX-3P above the JX-8P because of some of its sound. Sorry, can't be more specific, as I don't delve into posts along these lines. I just noticed a pattern of enthusiasm, especially in EDM circles.
2. Congrats! Please update when you've tried them and have a good idea about what you feel about them. Edit: ah! Beat me to it. These are quite attractive (I love my miniature Odyssey as well) and at a great price. Just wondering: is there MIDI Thru in the MIDI ports (don't even know if that's technically possible) or in the USB?
3.
Could be said of a few on here...
Now now, no need to be self-deprecating! I'm sure the underpants made for one of these optical illusions one sees on the Internet. That or the size of the horse's mouth.
4. As per your like for simple solutions, I'd say: bomb your computer!
5. Just use the Quote or MultiQuote button, and delete those parts of the post(s) you do not want to quote. Just takes a few seconds. Better methods may well exist, but I'm satisfied doing it this crude way.
6. During the last few months, we've had two threads pointing out how terrible they are. You may be able to find those threads for more info. Personally, I only have experience with their Dutch webshop and its service, and the experience has been wonderful to the degree that I now clearly prefer them above Thomann. Whilst Thomann have the best webshop experience of the two IMHO, Bax-Shop have been a lot better at pre- and after-sale service.
7. Fantastic story. I'm glad you desided to post it. (I was thinking that these days only 4.99999998571% of people are OK, but after reading this I know it really still is 5% of people, just like in the good old days.)
8. Nice! This seems like typically EBS to me, as I feel they're a thoroughly good firm, and your experience confirms my desire to support them by actually buying their stuff. However, the important question is: is this technical director hot?
9.
Good gracious..! Have I unwittingly fallen foul of some transatlantic conspiracy..? Pray indicate the faux pas committed; I'd not wish to set an unfortunate precedent, and will gladly do penance if it rids me of these demons.
Oh. Since you didn't spot it yourself, I guess I spotted it fauxpasly, and it's not an americanism at all. It was just that I thought I was taught in an earlier thread that Mercans would say "those that" about people, whilst Brits would say "those who". Maybe not then.
10. Is that an americanism I spot? Is that an americanism I spot in a post written by Dad himself?
11.
it might scratch up that lovely slate tiling....
That's me out of the bidding then. I can't stand used tiling that isn't unused.
12.
Perhaps people are drawn towards things that sound like a bit of a car crash?
Maybe so, but it may also just or partly reflect that quite some BassChatters visit the site very often and check for new posts. The "positive" thread has 10 posts at this point, and this one has 40, so this one attracts that type of traffic.
13. Then again, many sellers have some sort of CDO (sic) as well, me included, and we use hours and hours painstakingly putting soft velvet between those basses and the gravel and concrete - - even cutting mum's finest pillows in two when needed, just to avoid that any velvet be visible in the picture, and... What? Yes, mum. Sorry, mum.
14.
Going to hear them in Berlin over Christmas/New Year.
Congrats! It's gonna be great, but you already knew that. Will Simon Rattle himself be conducting them? IMHO he's one of the very greatest, and has been for 3 to 4 decades.
15. Not mentioned yet, I believe, but the Concertgebouworkest tribute band Berliner Philharmoniker also are amongst the best. Sadly slightly too polished though. IMHO Edit: I saw JTUK's post first now. Mine wasn't a comment on it, so no bad attempt at humour or snide here.
16. The bands I've been in without interpersonal issues all shared one common capacity: one (1) leader with decision power. Only bands without issues that did not have one leader were all classical music ensembles where the focus was very much on the music, and one worked very hard for the duration of the rehearsal.
17. Just wanna express a "me too!" as to the respect I have for your battle and your OP, and wish you well on the demanding road ahead. I hope and trust you've read up on the effects of alcoholism on one's personality. If not, then I think it's smart to do so. You'll have to adapt, see. All the best! Bert
18.
I was hoping people would substitute a bass of their own and not be so literal. I will make it clearer next time
Nobody took it literally this time, and nobody will next time, but even if you make it clearer next time, someone will still make a lighthearted comment like I did. Maybe I should not have used the Mellow smiley, so as to make it clearer?
19. Never. Not owned a Letts and an E Series Jazz, so that may explain it.
20.
I guess the sensible answer is for the OP's whole audience to be wearing ear plugs.
Fixed
21.

Well, there's no lard that a few years of Pliocene and Pleistocene can't fix! Just look at the "After" pic:
22. The problem is the internalisation. You're really a bunch of Poo Fighters.
23. Yup, Phil Starr's solution is the one. If even that doesn't help, this guitarist probably is one of those persons, and the band needs to decide what is important in life.
24.
I didn't think of trying that before I posted. I didn't know you could search the contents of just one thread. However, I did try it after I posted, and it came up with nothing, even though my post was now in here, so I didn't know how trustworthy it was, or if it didn't include it because I had posted it, or something.
Aye. This is how things are with us people. I do it all the time myself. It was just that I simply couldn't resist pulling yer leg a little.
