I've had Gator which was fine, now have Boschma which is also fine & also just got a Citronic lldpe as Boschma no longer deep enough for my new amp, this one is nice too, so don think you can go wrong with any of them, SKB looks good too but are much more expensive, not sure how much better they are. Think they're all similar weight tho the Boschma is lightest I've had but it is the shallow version.

BF Super Compact has arrived!..*REVIEW* of sorts
sifi2112 replied to modelreject's topic in Amps and Cabs
Yes there appears to be a distinct lack of interest among my work colleagues with regards to bass gear too... Mrs C also doesn't seem overly bothered... The cat however is always interested in anything new that comes into the house... although admittedly more from a sniffing and working out if it'd be good for claw sharpening / sleeping on perspective, than a wider interest in the subtle aspects of bass tone.
Yeah ... my cats couldn't care less about bass gear (cept when playing as they scarper) but they do love the cardboard boxes lol ! -

Glockenklang BAC preamp strange crackle :(
sifi2112 replied to sifi2112's topic in Repairs and Technical
Yes and he's been great. He's not had this problem but has offered to cover repair or reimburse me. This is exactly why I love dealing on Basschat, I've yet to meet a dishonourable bassist on here Si Ps. I sold a new amp to guy in Czech, he said it was faulty (too much hiss), he posted back to me & I reimbursed him then sent amp to manufacturer as it was under warranty & they tested it & said it was fine .... go figure lol -
Hi all, Recently got this preamp off fellow BCer & have noticed a strange crackle type noise as the note is dying. At first I thought it was the cab I built but I just tested it with a new power amp I got today & I don't get this noise with just through the power amp It might be something simple to cure but I was expecting the Glockenklang to be super quiet etc I've recorded it but don't know how to upload an audio file ... Anyone have an idea what this might be ? And know any good amp techs in Leeds/Bradford ?

Opinions ..? I'm considering getting one, also where's the best place/price ?

Has anyone compared a BF BB2 with a Vanderkley 115MN6?
sifi2112 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Amps and Cabs
I like the look of that 15/6 Vanderkley .. would certainly appreciate a review once you've had chance to see how it performs, I've a DIY 15/6 am pleasantly surprised by it, so curious to hear a proper pro made one -
I'll do some prog stuff as long as it's not too complex as I'm rubbish too

My BagEnd 212 has great punch & really growls (atleast it did with GK RB400-IV head I had) think they like a fair bit of power ... but it isn't light at 33kg ... Barefaced Super 12 I had a few years ago would be a good light weight 212 that's certainly loud tho not the same growl I love from Bagend .. my 2c

SOLD - Line6 M5 (boxed) in great condition. I was pleasantly surprised by this as I only knew the Pod Hd bean which shares most effects but is made of plastic, this M5 has a sturdy metal housing & nice footswitches, feels very solid & can probably take some punishment. It also takes line level from my amp which is a bonus but unfortunately it's just a bit too big for my nano board ..... £50

Smooth transaction with Mark ... deal with confidence guys

SOLD Just got this in a trade but pending retirement makes this great US made EDEN dual channel amp surplus ... £250 posted or knock 30 off for pickup ... 07505769753 Specs are same as this popular combo version (except power ratings see below) ... http://www.edenamps....10xltmetro2.pdf Looks like someone may have converted this from combo to head at some point as it looks different from the MH600 Eden produced as a head only model for a limited time. It is the same as a normal Metro (ss/tube pre dual channel), minus the missing speakers. The case is a sturdy, wooden, carpet covered affair with rubber feet on the bottom and a proper flightcase handle on one end. Probably mosfet / toroidal type power as this is quite heavey (wooden case adds to that). Previous owner valued this at 300 & said it never missed a beat in the 6 years he's had it. Some pots a bit scratchy but overall in great condition. Manufature date is 3-31-05 (US) & it has 120v box ticked but works on 240v so guess that's either been altered or marked in error. 'Hand Crafted in Montrose MN. USA' so guess it's an original Eden before they were taken over & production moved to China (correct me if I'm wrong here). I copied this from Talkbass as it gives a little bit more info .. 'So, here's your chance to own the Eden WT405 with it's crisp clear solid state front end...AND the Eden WT550 with it's reknowned warm hybrid tube front end and massively flexible semi para eq section...ALL IN ONE!!! And at one low bargain price; you could spend $600 per buying either of these. I've run this at 2 ohms a lot; it don't care, the fan just runs a little more often. You can switch on the fly between channels with the footswitch...you can do this either for a change in tone; or, set one channel at a higher gain stage for a solo voice... ''Eden Electronics' Metro head is now available as a separate head in its own road case. The dual channel preamplifier gives you the choice of both a tube and solid state pre-amp, with full footswitch control. The MH-600 will give you up to 600W of real amplifier power. Other features are: mute to tune (on footswitch), dual effects loops, automatic compression with bypass, stereo aux. input, headphone out and 12dB input pad. All this in a package that locks right on all Eden enclosures. Amplifier power - 600W RMS @ 2ohm (1200W peak), 400W RMS @ 4ohm (800W peak), 240W RMS @ 8ohm (480W peak) Distortion - <0.06% Frequency Response amp. - 10Hz - 15KHz +/- 2dB Dimensions - 23"(w) x 6"(h) x 18,5"(d) Weight - 22 LBS'' ' I just got scales & tape measure out ... wxhxd = 565mm x 180mm x 440mm (too wide to rack mount but perfect on top of 410) weight 15kg
