  1. Perhaps https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Spector_Spectorcore_5_SH.html
  2. Still for sale. As well as meeting up in/near Bristol, the next few weeks I'll be in Exeter, Southampton, Worcester, Coventry, Hull, Sutton Coldfield, Watford, and Bracknell.
  3. In-ears. Angled speaker in front of you (either a PA speaker or angled bass cab), since your ears point forwards not backwards.
  4. There was another thread praising these the other month: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/453501-nbd-squier-precision-70s-bass/ I chipped in with a comment there - basically I prefer the Squier to the Maruszczyk Jake and Sandberg Cali VM I own/owned. At the end of the day, it's all subject to personal preference; but I'd say definitely give it a go.
  5. EBS MicroBass 3.
  6. I'd see if your guitarist is open to swapping speakers for a gig to see how you get on with a DXR10. I've not tried a Headrush, but I did a couple of gigs with a QSC CP8 (1x8") as my bass monitor (with full PA support). It was loud enough - I could tell what notes I was playing - but it didn't have much depth tonewise. Sold it in the end.
  7. I have an RCF 732-A for sale in the marketplace. As for 10" speakers - for £30 more than the Mackie, I'd take a Yamaha DXR10 mkII every time. I've been using one as a monitor and our sound engineer always has me cut the low frequencies, as they're otherwise affecting FOH. This is at wedding venues and theatres.
  8. For sale only (no trades): RCF ART 732-A MK4 + fitted soft case. £475 Now £450 SOLD https://www.rcf.it/en_US/products/product-detail/art-732-a-mk4/210081 This is a truly great powered speaker, with 500W RMS into a 12" woofer and 200W RMS into a 1.4" compression driver with 3" voice coil. I've used it with bass guitar, upright bass, and synth bass, through a preamp pedal, and it sounds clear, full, and loud. Responds intuitively to EQ adjustments. Honestly, this consistently gives the best stage sound I've ever had, and I can hear myself clearly wherever I'm positioned on stage. I've used it both as a personal monitor in the floor wedge position and swung behind me in the traditional backline position. To give some sort of comparison, my previous rig was a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 900W head into a Barefaced Big Baby 2 - I sold that rig in preference for the RCF. Why sell if I love it so much?? Nearly all my gigs are through a full PA, and the RCF is overkill for my monitoring needs - it's way too loud and I hardly have it ticking over. I've moved to a smaller 10" monitor now so sadly the RCF is surplus to requirements. Comes with the official RCF live-in case. You can use the speaker without removing it from the case, by fastening back the flaps on the front and rear. Height: 637mm / 25.08" Width: 384mm / 15.12" Depth: 363mm / 14.29" Weight: 17.8kg / 39.24lbs Collection from Bristol, or I'm gigging this month in Tewkesbury, Torquay, Winchester, Sutton Coldfield, and London. Any questions please reply here or send me a private message.
  9. Are you looking at this page: https://www.basschat.co.uk/discover/ ? It is a continual stream of all posts.
  10. An RCF HD 10-A would work for home use, rehearsing, and monitoring (you can lay it down as a wedge). Plug your preamp in and you're all set. I had a mk4 a few years ago but there is now a mk5. https://www.rcf.it/en_US/products/product-detail/hd-10-a-mk5/1661220
  11. Message the seller directly and see if he'll accept £1075 via The Gallery. He'll still get the £900 he was after privately after their 15% commission. You should move on this bass if you want it, as Jake 5p will not come up very often on the used market. I had to wait a couple of years before the one I now own came up for sale.
  12. There's one in the Zoom MS-60B. It's in the 'Ac Bs Pre' amp sim, and if I recall, the HPF is labelled as the 'depth'.
  13. Can you get to £549 for a Yamaha DXR12 mkII? I've not tried one but I have recently been using its smaller sibling, DXR10 mkII, for stage monitoring instead of my RCF 732A, and I'm liking the Yamaha.
  14. I've had the same experience having moved to PA speakers - it's the best sound I've ever had, both on bass guitar and upright. I play in a variety of line-ups and venues, most of which don't have the best on-stage acoustics - but I can always hear myself clearly, and the speaker responds well and predictably to any EQ or amp sims I apply.
  15. Depends on how long or short they have been cut. I have some Fender flats which were originally cut for a (5-string) G&L 2500 - a 3+2 headstock - so the G string is very short. But it stays on a 4-string P bass with just 1.5 winds. It was slightly reluctant to be strung up initially; but once there, it's stable - no tuning issues, it's never fallen off, etc. An amber ATK 300.
  16. 👆This! 👍 +1
  17. This page might help narrow it down: https://www.ridc.org.uk/features-reviews/out-and-about/choosing-car/car Go to the 'Boot' section and play around with the width filters e.g. 'Width of boot floor at narrowest point' should be at least the length of your bass case.
  18. Have you tried it on the other side?
  19. Are you able to record and upload a clip of you playing the bass? Then people might be able to say if something sounds wrong to them, or if that's just what a P bass with La Bellas is meant to sound like (as alluded in your opening post - perhaps it turns out it is just not your preferred sound).
  20. Happy with my Cuvave Cube Turner. I paid £24, although the eBay seller I bought it from has since disappeared.
  21. The Traveler 102p comes in 4ohm and 8ohm versions. You need it to be the 8ohm version or this won't work. Don't use the preamp out, and there is no slave amp involved (i.e. a second, standalone amp head) - unless I've misunderstood. What you want to do is run a speaker cable from 'speaker out' on the back of the Jeff Berlin into the cab's input.
  22. Swiff Audio mini tuner http://www.swiffmusic.com/en/product/digitalpiano/337.html I've also seen the same item branded as a 'RockStock Nano tuner'. https://www.rockstockpedals.com/product/nano-tuner/ This is very tiny - pictured below next to MojoMojo for comparison. I've been using it at live gigs with no problems to tune five-string bass guitar and upright. I've recently gone back to using a Zoom pedal - which has a built-in tuner - so the Swiff is now surplus to requirements. Comparable in speed and accuracy to the Zoom tuner. Just the tuner for sale - no box, manual, or power supply. £18 posted in UK. Update: now sold
  23. Suggest if possible that you remove the ability to customize text colour. E.g. presuming this looks fine on a dark theme, but it's close to unreadable on the default theme. CC @will4bass
