  1. I own two bass guitars, both Precisions, both with flats. So if I were you, I'd go for another flavour of P bass!
  2. Is this not the guidance: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/restaurants-offering-takeaway-or-delivery#takeaways-4-5
  3. This is an interesting thread to read with some good contributions. I've never knowingly used compression; am not anti-compression but more that I'm already generally satisfied with my sound so not actively on the lookout to change anything. For years with my P bass with flats I was pedal-less (bass straight to amp); then at some point I added low-gain overdrive, initially just for the Motown tunes but then realized everything sounded and felt better when I left it on. As I understand it, overdrive adds compression; if so, am I inadvertently a fan of compression, albeit not having the control over it that I would have if I was using a dedicated compressor pedal?
  4. Some limited experience here but I've played Bass Station II while having a bass guitar strapped onto me and it's fine. For me, it worked better with my left arm under the bass's neck, but either way will work. The LS2 is a good call - it can level-balance the two instruments, and it will mute whichever instrument isn't currently being played. A keyboard I've played which was light and had a lot of useable sounds is Yamaha MX49; about £250 used. Try and get a sturdy stand. The cheaper X-style stands can be a bit wobbly. The stand I have is https://www.staymusicstands.com/products/supports-for-keyboards/
  5. Normally when people use IEMs (and are receiving a full band mix through them), they want the IEMs to be sealed/isolating. However in your case, you don't - as otherwise you won't be able to hear the rest of the band. I am one of those who does like my ZS10, but (as per what they are designed to do) not much ambient gets through, and what does is muffled. If the band are at a low-ish volume, and you just need "more you", then use normal non-sealed earbuds. But if the band are loud, and you still need "more you", you risk damaging your ears by not using sealed IEMs, since to overcome the ambient volume of the band you'll have to turn the volume of your earbuds up dangerously high.
  6. Behringer NX4-6000 is SIX THOUSAND* watts! https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-NX4-6000-Power-Amplifier/2G8K *not real watts
  7. Sounds like an excellent reason not to have one then.
  8. I've not had an SR300, but can you remove the bridge spring to eke out the absolute max adjustment?
  9. What I did was sell the Genzler (well, in my case it was a Genz Benz) and buy an RCF HD 10-A. Plug your IEM pedalboard straight into it.
  10. I think it's the routing which is the tricky bit, as BigRedX has gone into. For my current setup (MicroBass 3), I send the bass to PA via the DI out. I receive a monitor mix from the PA, which contains no bass. The Microbass 3 mixes these two signals and sends that to my in-ears. The great thing is that it has a physical volume knob which controls the level of bass in my ears, which doesn't affecting my monitor mix level or the signal going to FOH. Can a Helix do this? If so, I would consider moving to Helix.
  11. https://musiciansunion.org.uk/working-performing/coronavirus-guidance/overview-of-covid-19-restrictions-for-musicians So to me (no expert) it seems the 'seated' restriction applies only for more than 4,000 audience members.
  12. An adjustable high-pass filter set somewhere between 40Hz to 80Hz might help remove mud and boom, without sacrificing good low end. Worth a try, as it's easier and cheaper than swapping cabs.
  13. I don't have the bass to hand, but the specs say adjustable from 18 to 19.5mm.
  14. I had some fret rattle recently on the higher frets due to installing higher-tension strings. I agree with a previous poster that the first thing to do is set the relief correctly. E.g. https://www.premierguitar.com/diy-how-to-set-up-a-bass-guitar For me, this initially seemed to make things worse: the fret rattle spread lower down the neck. But I then raised the saddles to compensate. The overall effect was a lower action but without the higher fret rattle.
  15. Yep, the rivets are annoying! Measurement sounds the same. I don't have calipers or anything accurate, but I measured approx 24mm with a tape measure, so yes I figured slightly smaller rather than slightly larger. And yes, "Buy 1" = one pack of four.
  16. I've just had these arrive this morning: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402533803723?var=672778084427 I got the "22mm Thickened Bottom". They fit perfectly over the existing feet of a Pedaltrain Nano, but I think will need glueing on so they don't pop off. Power supply is a CS6.
  17. You probably know... but just in case - the V5 model is already passive.
  18. I've seen those photos on basschat before, here:
  19. It might be worse than coming up with just a single name. If you sign up to any agencies, they may ask for your band name to be unique to them (so the punter cannot simply google your band name and try to book directly for cheaper). So you'll need multiple names... BTW don't put your band name on the bass drum head (or anywhere else) when you record a promotional video, for this same reason.
  20. Bought a power supply from @Skinner and he sent it out very quickly and was exactly as described. Thanks Sean!
  21. https://www.designacable.com/ , although I haven't used them for years (because the cables they supplied me still work perfectly!)
  22. For 38mm + contours, I believe it's just the Ray4.

    Band PA

What's the mixer for? What are the other three channels? For consideration: which is better, one very good speaker, or two ok speakers?
  24. No, I agree with you that lots of information is good; but I mean it just doesn't need to be one huge run-on sentence. It could be split into many smaller sentences. Apologies for diverting from your topic; my bad. I had a buzz appear recently which I could not trace with any logical approach, but turned out to be a dimmer light which I'd recently introduced to the room.
  25. It's just too much effort to read your posts. A sentence should never contain anywhere close to 200 words. People who could help or would be interested will pass you by; I know I do. Good luck with your issue!
