  1. Book, "Jazz Guitar Standards: Chord Melody Solos". You can download the corresponding audio files here: www.melbay.com/WMB011MEB I'll post it within UK. Now gone
  2. Yes this, although it's the retailer who is responsible, not the manufacturer. (I realize there's fair chance it might be one and the same in this instance, but also it might have been bought through a shop)
  3. I'm not sticking up for couriers, but the argument is that with millions of parcels sent per day, some will always get lost or be damaged, and they can't operate their business with uncapped liability (suppose they lose your package, and then you claim it was worth £500,000). That's why they cap it at around £100. If the liability cap was raised, say to £1000, prices would go up for everyone (to cover the increased liability) and so they'd lose a lot of their customers for not being competitive (because people sending £100 packages don't want to pay for £1000 of cover; and there are a lot more people sending £100 packages than £1000 packages).
  4. You don't have to play the whole thing up an octave. It could work out just playing just the first note up.
  5. I've alternated over the years (in the same function band) with 4- and 5-string basses, and either is fine. I recently sold my 5-strings and now only own 4-string P basses (without octave pedals or detuning). Low notes are fun to play, but a P bass is also fun to play.
  6. Tuning machines from a Squier CV 70s P bass. Now gone Barely used. They worked fine on the bass they originally came on, but I already had some Hipshots lying around so swapped them over. I'll post within UK.
  7. Sandberg onboard preamp £50 posted in UK Now sold Four-knob, two-band preamp from a Sandberg TT5: volume (pull up to switch to passive mode) blend with centre detent bass treble, or tone (in passive mode) To wire it up (numbers refer to photo): 1. signal (to output jack) 2. ground 3. 9V battery There are three connections on the circuit board to connect your pickups to: connect your first pickup to top, shield/ground to the middle, second pickup to bottom. In this photo, the grey wire was my neck pickup and the black one was the bridge.
  8. Send me PM to claim. I'll post within UK. 1. Stereo mini jack extension, 3m. Now gone 2. Stereo mini jack to RCA, 3m. 3. RCA, 40cm. Now gone
  9. Ah, sorry. Looking at beyerdynamic's website, there are at least three slightly different DT 770: DT 770 Pro DT 770 Studio ("Studio nameplate (model identical in construction with DT 770 PRO, 80 Ohm)") DT 770 M ("extremely high isolation from ambient noise").
  10. I have the 80ohms. But I don't think there are further variants "80ohms Studio" and "80ohms Monitoring"; isn't that just how different Amazon sellers are marketing the same product?

    Gauges

You might need to widen the nut slots and do a set up. But how are you going to tune the bass? If EADG, hmm, not sure it's a good idea to tune all strings up a fourth. If BEAD, it will be fine.
  12. Good work Stew (and the double-dotted crotchets 👍)
  13. Is it one of these? https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Precision_60th_Anniversary.html
  14. The minim is correct (assuming you want to write a note lasting two beats). I'd write that rhythm with a double dot, like this:
  15. Sold a couple of items to Matt who paid quickly and it was very smooth transaction. Thanks!
  16. Hi, I have two feedback threads running in parallel for many years. Is it possible to combine them without losing any posts? https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/159971-jrixn1/ https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/235844-jrixn1-feedback/ Thanks!
  17. I see many under £500, and lowest is £90. This link is in stock, pre-owned basses, ordered by price: https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass?_=pf&pf_t_availability=In Stock&sort=price-ascending&pf_t_condition=Pre-Owned
  18. Aguilar AG 5P-60CL pickup for 5-string precision bass. £105 posted in the UK. Now sold From https://www.aguilaramp.com/pickup-series/p-bass-pickups/: "Based on Dave Boonshoft’s personal 1963 and 64′ Precision basses, this pickup is designed to capture the vibe and feel of the 60’s. Using period correct heavy Formvar wire and Alnico V magnets, these pickups are specially wound to deliver the warmth and midrange “nose” that defines a great 60’s P-bass pickup." The "CL" indicates it's the smaller cover; I had these in a Sandberg VM5. You can check the dimensions here: http://www.aguilaramp.com/wp-content/uploads/aguilar-pickup-5p-60cl.pdf These are the pickups to get a classic Precision bass sound; selling as I no longer own that bass.
  19. Account Settings → Signature → View Signatures? Not sure what the default is, but I have it off as too many people have annoying (large) sigs.
  20. You can get ethernet to USB converters for about a tenner.
  21. In general (but I suppose not always), I'd expect one of the chords in a progression to be the I (that's why it's called the "home" key: because you return there after going on a journey). So I'd go with bVI V I in F.
  22. Yep, this is my experience. Half the time, they are really great and super helpful; the other half, they couldn't care less that I exist. For niche/uncommon items sometimes they are the only place to go, but otherwise I avoid if I possible.
  23. Ammoon "EQ7" EQ pedal £15 posted. Now sold Compact EQ pedal, footprint 9.5 x 4cm ±15 dB at: 63Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1.0KHz, 2.2KHz, & 5.0KHz. Output level control Powered by a normal 9V DC supply (not included).
