The Roland Cube has a output labelled "Recording Out/Phones". Using a normal guitar cable, connect that to the "Return" input on the back of the Behringer. Only the "Master" control on the Behringer will now be in use i.e. you get the sound of the Cube, but just a lot louder. Or yes, try your other suggestion of a multi FX pedal. If you don't already have one, I saw this current thread https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/445593-budget-multi-fx/ and agree that the Zoom B1 Four could be a good place to start. It all depends really on what type of sound you want to go for; or if you don't know yet, then the Zoom is a good way to experiment. The Zoom's probably a better bet overall, unless you absolutely adore the sound coming out of the Cube (which is a guitar amp, I think).

What make/model are your low-wattage modelling amp and main amp? Or could you post photos of the inputs & outputs on each. I think it will be easier for people to advise if it's known exactly what equipment and connections are available.
-
Ah ok, so pretty much at the minimum level possible. I haven't used H4n Pro so can't comment on its suitability. Hope you figure out the best solution!
-
You're setting the recording level manually, yes, not using an automatic setting?

It's a good point that not all through-body are at the same angle. It also depends on where the saddles are in relation to the string body hole. On one bass I've owned, once intonated the saddles were almost on top of the string holes, so the break angle would be almost 90'; but I could imagine with a different design the string holes could be further back.
-
Does your interface has a lower input impedance than your amp? This would affect the sound. How does it sound if you DI from the amp?
-
What is your security concern about going through the bridge? The chance of damaging the string through an extreme break angle when going through the body is very real, but the possibility of the bridge being ripped off when stringing through the bridge is very unlikely.

Use a small spoon to lever the knob up; perhaps one spoon on each side. Put a cloth down first to protect the top of the bass. -
May I ask how come you're sorting out the courier, and not the seller/builder? If the worse did happen in transit (damage/loss), I'd want them to be responsible for sorting it out, not me.

Isn't it customs duty first, then VAT on top? Something like... Customs duty: £200 x 1.12 = £224 VAT: £224 x 1.20 = £269 UPS handling fee: £269 + £13 = £282
-
I think a quicker way is, for each section, highlight the time range you want and then 'Render', then choose 'Time selection' instead of the default 'Entire project'.

It was UPS. They didn't charge me anything, as Kev says above, the VAT was already paid, so there was no additional service they provided, so there was no additional fee.

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/section/9 https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/notes/division/3 "Under the law of England and Wales and of Northern Ireland, claims for breach of contract are subject to a limitation period of six years from the date of the breach of contract [...] "For example, the statutory right may not be breached and so a consumer would not be able to obtain a remedy if, say, a very cheap kettle stopped working fully after four years, as a reasonable person might not expect a bottom of the range kettle to last that long." It's not saying that a laptop must last for six years; no law would say anything so specific. It's saying that any claim must be made within six years. The question is whether the laptop meets "the standard that a reasonable person would consider satisfactory". I am a reasonable person and I would say that 18 months is not long enough for a £1000 laptop.

Sure; just to clarify, I don't think I slipped through the net. My understanding before I placed the order is that I wasn't expecting any extra fees, since my order total was below the £135 threshold and therefore I'd already paid the VAT directly to Thomann.

Confirming my £44 order placed a week ago was delivered today with no signs of any extra fees.

I've been getting a high-pitched noise at some (but not all) gigs and I currently suspect my Fame DC Junior, although many changing factors/gear at each gig mean it's hard to pinpoint the problem. Also I can't actually hear the noise myself, relying on younger bandmates to tell me when it starts/stops. Next gig (whenever that will be...) I will try not using it and see if it helps. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Dr J Sparrow; or a MojoMojo + any passive DI box.

The free shipping is if your basket is £135 or above. They sort out the VAT for you (so no courier handling fee) if your 'Net amount' is £135 or below. But postage contributes towards 'Net amount' (I placed an order last week). So sweet spot is a basket of exactly £135, as you'll get free postage and no courier handling fee. The amount to avoid in your basket is £128.33 - £134.99, the worst of both worlds, as you'll have to pay both the £8 shipping and the ~£12 courier handling fee; in that case, you'd save £20 by adding £7 of stuff to your basket.
