That little short scale Encore is a US made Precision compared to the piece of crap that was my first, it was a single pickup version of the monstrosity below, it had an action you could drive a bus under, it met it's demise when the strap button screw gave way and it hit the ground and three of the cast metal stemmed machine heads snapped clean off.

Some Aussie goodness for the uninitiated!

Not played in a band for many years, but always loved covering the usual suspects from the hard rock genre. Eg. UFO, Thin Lizzy, Blackfoot & Free through to Van Halen, Reo Speedwagon, Y&T.

Songs that make you feel uncomfortable - Part II

I wouldn't say he was underappreciated, though he may have been overlooked as their career went on and his basslines became less adventurous and his tone not as aggressively prominent. -

The G, Bb, G, F, G repetition at the end of No More Heroes used to result in serious left hand pain. -
Going to gigs. What do you love or hate about it?

Especially the ones filled with bodily waste fluids! Which reminds me, the last time I was at Donington was 1986, and I witnessed some unfortunates get plastered with the contents of a plastic bag which, by the looks of them contained not only urine. They quickly lost interest in watching The Scorpions. -

Cover Versions You Knew Long Before the Original

I seem to recall there being hell on over it a good few years back.... More than likely why Miss Imbruglia is well under the radar these days. -

Well, ever since it's release in January 1979 I've kept coming back to this! It's just a brilliant solo.

This for a long time has been regarded as an urban myth. Hendrix was supposed to have said it in an interview, after the Isle of Wight festival in 1970, even the type of interview is in question, some say it was audio, others swear blind it was a written article. The great man himself (Rory) didn't believe Jimi had said it. No one has ever been able to find the interview.

Michael Schenker during the 70's definitely turned the heads of the established elite like Page and Blackmore! These days I'd say Buckethead. Forget the bucket and the mask gimmick, the lad can play anything and with great aplomb.

Mark Henry put down some great lines on Toyah's first album, Sheep Farming in Barnet. ignore her wailing, and enjoy the prog influenced music.

Iron Maiden, Middlesbrough Town Hall, 1981. Absolute crap! Black Sabbath with Ian Gillan, and Bev Bevan at Reading Festival, 1983. What a mess! Def Leppard at Donington, 1986. Nauseous.

If you're going down the new route, I read somewhere, possibly on here, that the latest runs of Squier 70's CV's are just leftover VMs. Not sure how true that is, but I took a punt and bought a CV 70's Jazz in January 2020 and I parted company with it in June as it was just collecting dust, and not in the same league as my Squier CV 70's Precision from 2014. BTW Aren't SX basses rebranded Jim Deacon's?

I not likey. Have they finally got shot of that carbuncle of a bridge that marred the 4001's/4003's, or is this a one off run?
