1.
No controversy - just there's only one bloke, Chris Squier, who ever got a decent sound out of one
I'm guessing you've not heard Paul Gray then John?
2.
I thought that, but there's two pretty much identical threads going at the moment...
Found tuther thread in Gear Porn why my comment isn't logged in my content I don't know, but it ain't. Anyway apologies for jumping the gun.
3. Hmm I coulda sworn I'd made a favourable and constructive comment on this thread?
4. Looks the business mate, and as for your idea of transferring the hardware onto a Classic Pro, Go for it. There's a Bargain here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-thunderbird-classic-pro-bass-guitar-/141108958125?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item20dabfd3ad
5.
Oh pants, fingers crossed. I was a big fan back in the (70s) day. This calls for some Strangers in the Night (and my favourite - and longest! - Michael Schenker solo)
+1 Fantastic album that somehow seems to get overlooked. Best live album of that era IMO.
6. The ex UFO bass legend has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. One of rocks great showmen back in the day, hope he can beat it!
7. Loved the old footage, but found the reunion clips made for a bit uncomfortable viewing. Alan Lancaster looked frail and a bit too eager to please everyone. Also looking at Rossi's body language/eye contact especially towards Alan, it looked like he hasn't really buried the hatchet. Maybe the unedited version paints a different picture.
8. There yer go! It's a bit closer to home, but the price is an absolute joke! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-Thunderbird-IV-Bass-Ebony-/230995245135?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35c863b84f
9. IMO it all went downhill after Signals, and with the exception of Presto they've never recovered!
10.
Epiphone should make a black classic pro I really, really, really want a black Thunderbird.
They probably will when they've sold their target figures for the VS and AW.
11. I wouldn't worry mate, it'd only end up sitting in the corner, as It won't play as nice as your Classic Pro! I sold a 1998 Korean made bolt-on last year which played excellently, but having recently acquired a Classic Pro meself, I would not buy another bolt-on. The Classic Pro is indeed in another world.
12. This has got to be it! http://youtu.be/HzpCcNdhy5w
13. Only when used by a lefty Eg. Jimi Goodwin of Doves.
14.
Is it an older version of one of these ? http://www.andertons...ge-sunburst.asp
No, manufacture and sale of these only started last year. If I had a spare £250 I'd have it meself. Just amazed at how many people are so confused when the description is in the title of the thread!
15. As the title says it's the Classic Pro IV produced in 2012 Not the active Pro which has been around since 2008 or so. If I hadn't have bought mine last month this one would be well on it's way to Somerset by now!
16.
Not bad. Only £50 more than they cost new ...
Well your attempt at being sarcastic fell right on it's arse there matey. They're just shy of £350 everywhere without the hard case, which itself can cost anywhere between £70 to £120.
17. There you go, excellent basses as a few on BC will testify! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-thunderbird-iv-pro-vintage-sunburst-b334108-bhh-/161132448717?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item25843e0bcd
18.
I'm convinced that one was a 2cv4 though, so he can knock him for that.
The only difference between the 2cv4 and 2cv6 is the engine size, So whichever one he's putting them into, it's basically the same piece of sh*t, so you can't knock him for that! Anyway Carry on
19.
I once played in a band where the guitarist used two full flightcased Fender Twin reverb amps that never once travelled further than about 40 miles in a Citroen 2Cv.
You can't knock him for that! If ever a flight case was justified for short journeys, putting them in a 2cv6's is it! I remember seeing one get rear ended by a milk float when I was doing me paper round in the '70's, the Fibre glass constructed milk float came off a hell of a lot better, the Citroen's arse end just folded in like it was made of kitchen foil.
