Gotta be the tapered mate, I bought my Epi Classic Pro T-Bird back in 2012 and the Epi case for it at that time was rectangular.
I never click any links on here because it seems to be an unresolved issue.
I didn't click on any links mate, I just searched for a threads to do with nut problems, found one, opened it, started reading and suddenly it was replaced, with a page with an automated voice saying something about security issues, I quickly closed it, as I could see by the circle icon on my screen that it was starting to load or run something else.

No molan, there's nowt dodgy in there I have one extension that being Adblock Plus. and I'm one for running frequent security checks.

Dunno if anyone else has experienced it on here, but the following link (Don't click it!) (removed) popped up and totally obliterated the page I was looking at which was. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/247536-fret-buzz-on-the-first-and-second-fret-nut-cut-too-high/page__p__2581597__hl__nut%20cut%20too%20deep__fromsearch__1#entry2581597 Luckily I got my browser closed before it disabled it.

If I were you I'd save up for the Yamaha, you'll get one for half of the price of what your Squier is worth. Also as soon as you let that beauty go, you'll be pining for it back. I was in a position where I had to sell an early JV (albeit with the Squier logo) back in 1990, I've not had a Precision that come close to it since.

Great drummer! I saw him with Y&T back in '83. I also recall they sacked him because he didn't have the "right" body image. Image before talent, an 80's legacy, which sadly is still rife today!

Don't Give up hope ColinH! A mate of mine had an Ibanez Roadster (guitar) stolen at a gig in the mid 80's. He saw one uncannily like it for sale on ebay in 2012, also it was in our old hometown in the North-East. (he now lives near Glasgow) He contacted the seller, who trotted out a story of how he'd owned it since new, but had given up playing in the early 90's, and couldn't bear to part with it, and it had remained in it's case under the bed for the last 20 years. My mate asked him if he could tell him the serial number, so he could verify it's age. Bingo! Same serial number. He then asked if he could arrange a day to go and try it out, he went (receipt in pocket) Played the guitar for around 20 mins or so, put it back in it's case, picked it up, showed the guy the receipt as he told him that he was taking the guitar which was rightfully his back. I know this don't help you personally, but it proves things can turn up! I wish you all the luck in your search!

Very sad! I saw Motorhead twice, Newcastle Mayfair 1980 and Donington 1986. 1980 was devastatingly loud. The only time I could hear Fast Eddie was when he was playing a solo.

+1 to Norris and Slippery suggestions. Walk away, before they humiliate you in front of an entire audience, either that or you end up lamping one (or the lot) of them. I'm an ex native of North Yorkshire myself and I left a band in the '80's after witnessing the treatment metered out to our rhythm guitarist by the lead guitarist and singer. That started out disguised as "friendly banter" and in the end the lad nearly had a break down. It no good being in a band, no matter how good they are, if they're arseholes. Another thing, you'll also have the satisfaction of knowing they're stumped for getting their gear around.

Got the CV via Andertons. Set up is spot on though it has a slightly higher action than I'm used too. Gonna leave it as it is and get used to it.

Cheers for replying Fisheth, I've had Squier's in the past (A JV Precision in the 80's and Precision Special in 2006) I think I'm gonna go with the Classic Vibe, and hope that the build quality is as good as their earlier CV models.

Hi people, I've been perusing the Thomann site and the Matt Freeman Precision in Black and also the Classic Vibe, also in Black with the Block inlays are talking to me. The trouble is I'm struggling with the decision of which to go for. I've heard good stuff about the Freeman, but I'm liking the look of the CV with the block inlays. Just wondering has anyone tried either or both?, if so, is one any better than the other? I've not seen any independent reviews about the Black CV, is it as good as the earlier run of CV's? Local music stores (Taunton and Exeter) have neither in stock, so I can't go and try them out. Any insight is much appreciated.

I bought a Korean bolt on Epi back in '98, sold it around two years ago. I've owned an Epi Classic Pro IV for around a year and a half, and I can honestly say there is no comparison. The Classic Pro IV totally takes a poo poo all over the old bolt on, Eg. infinitely better pups, slimmer and faster neck with 0 dive, more sustain than a sustaining thing in a big sustainer, (shed loads more if you stick a Hipshot Supertone Bridge on too) plus it feels more like the Gibson than the bolt on ever did.

Great basses mate, not sure about the string through body "modification" though, it certainly don't look professional to me. Check out the same mod on his White one.
I've listen to live versions of Quo songs, Edwards v Lancaster, and there's just seems to be something missing when Edwards is on bass.
I agree totally, the missing ingredient is called ....balls!
The current crop of Gibson Thunderbirds are not the same as the 60s originals in either sound or construction.
I totally agree with you on the '60's models matey, but there's no real need to add MODERN when you think about it, seeing as the current model of Thunderbirds were re-issued in 1987, making the first ones nigh on vintage themselves.
