I've just ordered a Hipshot Supertone from the US via ebay Does anyone know if I'm likely to get stung by Customs once it arrives here, and if so wot's the cost likely to be?

Seems that the BBC do like holding their grudges. and I'm guessing the reason The Damned have never been invited has something to do with the Sensible/Ward/Scabies Parkinson's Party Punch bowl event that alledgedly occured during their 1979 visit to the OGWT studio's.

[/quote] IMO they're far better than the affinity's and not that far (if at all) behind the VM's. I've owned both the Special and the VM in the past, there's nowt wrong with the special if you wanting that P/J sound, sadly that pup combination didn't work for me and I used mine with the J pup constantly off. Decent basses all the same.

I bought an Epiphone Classic Thunderbird IV last Wednesday, it's brilliant and as for the infamous neck dive problem, it's a thing of the past!

It just seemed pointless leaving it to the mercy of a couriers depot (I saw that Dispatches programme) for a journey of less than 20 miles mate. The first album TFFL is the only decent stuff they released and that has to be the very raw Leathur records release of said album, not the wimpy tarted up Elektra re-release.

IMO it was their last great album, with the exception of Presto it all went downhill after Signals!

This is mine, made in China, and as far as I'm aware it's one of the early ones, but I can't find a serial number or date anywhere, having said that I've not took it apart. Set up was done by Manson's in Exeter, it's really effortless to play. [attachment=141369:OLP Stingray 1 - Copy.jpg]

They were a brilliant band through all their era's! The Knife off of Genesis Live is sublime, as is Supper's Ready off of Seconds Out. There's still hints of genius on the later albums that many fans find cringe worthy.

I've witnessed this in many a rock club in my youth Thin Lizzy's Chinatown always seems to get arms flailing, (and pints spilling) something to do with the frequent passages of triplets I suppose. I've even heard the excuse that doing it is a good cardiovascular work out, but hey, I'm no medical expert. Hope this helps anyone planning on taking up this rather funny spectacle.
