Gibson Thunderbird iv Vs Epiphone Thunderbird Pro iv??
pst62 replied to x_Morning_Star_x's topic in Bass Guitars
Why not wait until next month when Epiphone launch the Classic Pro series with the Gibson pups? http://www.epiphone....sic-iv-pro.aspx -
..and I'm hovering like a fly waiting for the windshield on the freeway. Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (I forget exactly which song)
That'll be Fly on a Windshield

Bands, those funny little plans, that never work quite right. (Holes by Mercury Rev) Compassion and emotion are our most important safety values, If we lose them, then ‘we lose’ the vitality of life itself. (This is The A.L.F. by Conflict)
Well in their formative years they played many gigs at 'The Duke' in North Ferriby but I would agree not your typical pub rock band Good to see BBD get a mention on here. I am a big fan of Bill Nelson in general and BBD in particular. Love the bass work of the late, great Charlie Tumahai. At the forthcoming Bill Nelson fan convention along with a Bill Nelson solo set there will be a live performance from Bill and his Gentlemen Rocketeers playing many BBD and Red Noise numbers along with an improv set from Orchestra Futura with the truly brilliant Dave Sturt on bass.http://www.nelsonica.com/. The event is sold out but if you're in York on 29th September and you loiter around the bar in the Park Inn Hotel you will hear some awesome guitar playing.
Aye he's a top quality guitarist, wish I could be there, but sadly York is about 300 miles north of me these days. Dunno if you've heard this before, but it's a great cover from another great guitarist who you'd think was very unlikely to cover a BBD song. I didn't think Be Bop Deluxe were part of the Pub Rock scene. Dr. Feelgood, Roger C Reale & Rue Morgue, Eddie and The Hot Rods, The Pirates yeah, but certainly not Bill and the boys!
Pete Way is an absolute f***ing legend. It's astonishing that he's still alive, given the lifestyle he's had since the 70s.
It's his 61st birthday today and I for one wish him many more!
Never heard of him before or any of his music, but he seems a nice chap.
He was in a band called UFO, I got to meet him in '81 and he was a very down to earth, sincere bloke.
Thanks I remember they brought out some great rock tunes - can't remember what, when or any details but when i was a kid i loved it.
Doctor Doctor, Lights Out, Rock Bottom, Only You Can Rock Me, Too Hot To Handle, Young Blood etc.
Not the best advert for taking drugs, what a shame he still seems to think its clever the tosser :-/
Is their actually a good advert for drug use? I took his drug related comments as tongue in cheek, judging by the state he's in now, I don't think for one minute he thinks it's clever! Say wot you like about him but the reality is, in his day he was a great solid bassist and showman who was in a band who (if it wern't for personality clashes) would have been huge.
Is he a local lad to Bournemouth? Not seen him around ...
No mate. Enfield born, now living in Birmingham.

Got given a ticket to see them on The Killers tour in Middlesbrough, thought they were sh*te, left before the end of the gig. I watched last nights BBC 4 edited concert. My verdict, a handful of long-winded, 5 min plus songs that IMO went nowhere. I suppose the only things that have ever really impressed me about Iron Maiden is that they've managed to retain a massive worldwide following, and Steve Harris' stamina in keeping his 'one-trick pony' staccato rhythm going. Oh aye I also thought Dave Murray did not look a well man!
I can empathise with you here.I have not been diagnosed with depression but I do have Fibromyalgia; a symptom of which can be depression along with all the other stuff I have to live with(not looking for sympathy here its just a fact of life for me).
Sorry to read that mate, my wife was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last year, it's a horrible illness, she's in constant pain.
