Well in their formative years they played many gigs at 'The Duke' in North Ferriby but I would agree not your typical pub rock band
Good to see BBD get a mention on here. I am a big fan of Bill Nelson in general and BBD in particular. Love the bass work of the late, great Charlie Tumahai. At the forthcoming Bill Nelson fan convention along with a Bill Nelson solo set there will be a live performance from Bill and his Gentlemen Rocketeers playing many BBD and Red Noise numbers along with an improv set from Orchestra Futura with the truly brilliant Dave Sturt on bass.http://www.nelsonica.com/. The event is sold out but if you're in York on 29th September and you loiter around the bar in the Park Inn Hotel you will hear some awesome guitar playing.
Aye he's a top quality guitarist, wish I could be there, but sadly York is about 300 miles north of me these days.
Dunno if you've heard this before, but it's a great cover from another great guitarist who you'd think was very unlikely to cover a BBD song.
