One of my all-time favourite bass players. Sad & funny, just glad he's still alive. http://youtu.be/xZ7vn5Xg--Y

Tbh honest I've only had one crap experience on there, that was a few years back, I bought a 4 port USB hub, when it arrived it was knackered, got sent a replacement, that was knackered too.
-
Not heard much by The Gun Club tbh, but you're probably right about the Sisters stuff, Though Floodland does sound like it has bass on it, could be sampled though, they did like their synths.
She hasn't aged well though...
Not clocked her for a decade or so, but she still looked fine to me in 2002.
And an underrated player,too.
Agreed! Certainly not to be judged by that over produced Sisters of Mercy tripe. Saw her with The Damned and she was no slouch.
At last, a rhythm stick. Always wonder what one looked like.
lol finally

Ordered a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky's on Thursday, my order arrived yesterday a pair of Vic Firth 5A drum sticks, phoned them up. Me "Hello err yes mate (laughing) I ordered a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky's off of you via eBay and you've sent my a set of drum sticks, wot gives?" FDM bloke "Oh sorry sir I'll amend your order an get a set straight out to you, I'll also send you a set for free of charge for your inconvenience." Me "Excellent! I'll return the drums sticks as your address is on the bottom of the postage label." FDM Bloke "No it's ok, don't bother, just give them to your drummer." As sure as eggs is eggs. Two sets of said bass strings arrived this morning. I know it's not a freebie 8x10 chucked in for buying two SVT rigs, for cash, but it just goes to show in this time of austerity there is still some decent traders out there, even on eBay.
I'm a "neck-gripper" and seem to wear frets like nobody's business :/
You're not Patricia Morrison in disguise are you?
Very good. Then you can easily move it on when you realise you don't need a J-bass!
+1. Hideous things that they are!

He wants hitting with it!
In my opinion there is no such thing as a 'one fits all bass'. And since you asked; yes, I think this is a bad idea!
+1
I've never found a J pickup to blend well with a P
+1 Aye don't get your bass butchered! Instead why not go for a 2nd hand Squier PJ Special if you really want to experiment? I had one which I upgraded the pup's in and to be honest it still sounded crap, ended up playing it with the J pup turned off. and yeah I'm older than 30.
he's probably agreed a deal outside eBay with someone!
I think I might have scared him off, I sent him this about an hour ago. Dear peds858, Hey mate, Do yourself a favour and change the description of this bass, as I can guarantee you that it is NOT a Fender! Here's a few things that are glaringly wrong! 1. Fender's have the truss rod adjuster at the heel of the neck, not at the headstock. 2. The headstock is the wrong shape, 3. The bridge is wrong, yours has 7 screws whereas a Fender has 5, 4. The Machine heads are not stamped with the Fender logo. 5. There is no serial number on the neck plate. - unraveled1962

7 screw bridge? ....it's more than likely a stripped back early Westfield, Gear4music etc.

Stranglers in rosewood neck horror shock
pst62 replied to The Dark Lord's topic in General Discussion
ooh pardon me! He was using something black with a rosewood neck back in '82 (could've been a Yamaha). Sure he was using it at Reading in '83 too, minds a blur TBH. -

What is your favourite song to play live?
pst62 replied to garymilitia's topic in General Discussion
Back in the day it was Highway Song by Blackfoot. -
Just this. You could say that for a bass player, Im slightly obsessed with Robbo... Check the solo out from 2:45 - and look at the way he struts forward - sheer arrogance, but it works for me!
Great song, He plays this solo better on the Live & Dangerous album. But then again, apart from the drums, Live & Dangerous is a studio recording.
I love the colour These are great bass guitars
I agree totally!
'Tis a lovely golour but looks like it's had a fair old bash down by the jack socket, big chip out of it & I'm wondering how far that 'possible crack' or join in the wood separating, might run under the scratch guard Wouldn't risk it without close inspection personally.
Aye too right! The chip wouldn't bother me too much, especially where that one is, as it's in general damage territory. The cracks though are a different story, they could run deeper or could be just in the lacquer, at least he had the decency to highlight all the damage, (a lot don't!) after all it was obscured by the stand in his other pics. On the other hand, it went via a private bidder for it's starting price, could've easily been a mate or a family member winning. -
I bet a few have your eyes on it though! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330760959530?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_1202

If my memory serves me rightly, David Paton is the bass player on the Kick Inside album.
