1.
this has got to be the stupidest thread to date...
Nah, I've seen worse!
2.
I had an 8-string one of them back in the 80s, I loved it at the time, but it had the most vicious neck-dive of anything I've ever picked up. Keep thinking I'd like another, but I'm suspecting that's nostagia talking...
Aye I know where you're coming from there. I felt the same about my old Hondo II Precision. it's like that "The sun was always shining when we were kids" analogy ....in reality we all know it wasn't!
3. I'm surprised no one's mentioned these Washburn/board B-20 monstrosities with their hideous triangular necks. Very horrible indeed!
4.
White, black, maple. Doesn't get much better than that.

Apart from Black,Black,maple.
Aye I agree with both views, and they have to be Precisions too, non of that ugly off-set body Jazz malarky.
5.
Glad to hear that this has had a positive outcome. Now don't do it again!
Cheers Paul! and no I won't ....ever. Finish product on show in Gear Porn/ Precisions. (Gloat, Gloat)
6. Thought I'd show off me £50 Squier VM Precision with it's new Mighty Mite neck. First song I played on it was Accidents Will Happen. After the broken screws debacle, http://basschat.co.u...ade-good-again/ it just seemed right! http://
7. Thanks again for all your advice fella's. Mission accomplished, the mole grips worked a treat.
8. Cheers for the advice fella's! I'll let you know the outcome once I've located and tried the Moleys.
9. bartelby. Yeah I can grab the end with pliers but, they don't grip Flyfisher . Yeah they snapped as I was removing them. I will try the Mole Grips idea if I can locate them (we moved house and everything is still upside down in the garage) Here's a better angle.
10. Never had this happen before and I'm not fancying the job of trying to drill them out myself, anybody got any idea of the potential cost of getting a luthier to sort it?

Fave guitar solo?

+1 for Blackmore. Here's two gems that really show off his creativity!
12. This bastard thing! It's been going for the past 20 mins or so, and I can tell you now I'm not wearing the same expression as Henry.
13.
Shame the recent Rush offerings (i.e. after 1993!!) can't replicate some of the masterful songwriting exhibited on some of those thirteen albums...
+1 with the exception of Presto everything after Grace Under Pressure has done nowt for me.
14. Never noticed the overhang but did notice the cheap sh*t nut!
15. http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_3625wt_1185
16.
Because you wouldn't wear this:
I guess Lfalex v1.1 is the one on the far right
17. Bought a Mighty Mite neck off of Mark and just like with the other things, well pleased. Ggreat comms, well packed, fast delivery. Top bloke, buy with confidence.
18. They're appaling! There'll be parents up and down the country scratching their heads, while saying to their teenage son's "Wot the bloody hell have you bought that thing for?"
19.
Gotta be worth £50.
No chance! More like 50p considering I got a Squier VM Precision for £50 off of there last month. (smug mode engaged)
20. Just letting you know that a Mighty Mite Jazz neck will fit with no problems, I've replaced one in the past. Here's the result! http://
21. Have a (It's absolutely lovely that! That rosewood board sits better with the natural finish than the original maple did, it brings to mind John Deacon's stripped back '67. I'm about to do the opposite, by putting a maple board Mighty Mite neck on an Olympic White VM Precision, which again IMO sits better.) bump on me.
22. Nevermind! you could always hoy it straight on Gumtree. There's loads of young Index and little finger wavers out there that'll think that's just the thing for them!
23. Excellent read, got 7 of them! Was quite surprised at seeing Fleet Foxes, Bjork & Radiohead in there. Note to self, must have a listen to some Jefferson Airplane, but Jethro Tull can stay in the shops!

Fave guitar solo?

Often viewed as the clown of punk, Captain Sensible IMO is quite a guitar maestro. http://youtu.be/rYjabBNTIrg One of Bill Nelson's finest solo's http://youtu.be/sTaZESeI1Fw
