3-Tone Sunburst P-bass, Maple or Rosewood finger board?
mckendrick replied to jackers's topic in Bass Guitars
Sorry, it has to be Sunburst, rosewood and tortoiseshell. I'm pretty sure there was a law passed to this effect.
That. -

Patsy Cline: The Complete Decca Masters. Some great bass stuff going on here... most choons featuring two basses: Bob Moore on upright bass fiddle, and Harold Bradley doubling up on Fender P Bass. Some dark sentiment in some of these choons, but joyous bass throughout. Wonderful stuff. -
How do you guys deal with having more than one bass? I can't imagine how the guys with 3, 4, 5+ basses cope...
I've got nine Jazzes and two Precisions. I'm a nerdy ego maniac and I cope admirably.

**SOLD**Fender 50's Re-Issue Precision Bass Sale/Trade**SOLD**
mckendrick replied to Davy's topic in Basses For Sale
Yes.... nice bass. I have the blond one. Extracting myself from any speculation as to what detail is or is not correct - I'm sure we could pick holes in it all day long - it's on catalogue as a '51 re-issue. V 0***** appears to be on the last of the original MIJ series and the first of the CIJ's - which would make this from about 1997. I have both MIJ (fretless; V 010***) and CIJ (fretted V 032***) Jazz Basses both purchased new in early 1998. They started using MIJ again in 2007 and they'd got up to letter 'U' by 2011. I suppose 2012 could be back to V****** - but that's beyond the scope, eh? Not to digress too far, I put odds on Davy's '51 re-ish being from 1998. Carry on. . -

What sort of saddles and screws have you put on the bridge, Sid...? They don't show in the pics. Price is good in my opinion. The fact that it has a case at all is a bonus. Good luck with the sale, tho' you shouldn't need much luck. Once we find out what the exact bridge specs are this shouldn't be on here much longer. Cheers.

I'm as blind as a bat so I got a Korg DTR1000. 19" unit with a highly visible display, and, for the kind of dross I play, really unneccesarily acurate. It's totally fab. I've tried the Pitchblack since I got this and I can see myself using one in the furure. Highly visible - even for blindies like me. Accurate down to about 21hz, Power source, too - which is cool. And can be had for under £50.00. Bargain. .

Bass player frontperson (first gig report post 65)
mckendrick replied to rOB's topic in General Discussion
How many 'front' people did the Beach Boys have...? That Brian Wilson was handy in his day. Rick Danko - not very engaging but he couild silence a stadium with some of his more heartful renditions. 'Make's No Difference', anybody? -

Even though I'm not remotely moved by metal... I did catch that Robert Trujillo bloke on telly once and thought he was actually really very good. But WTF would I know. When you said worst bass players I thought you'd been listening through my letter box.
