1. Good question.
Has this now sold ?
Excellent line of enquiry.
  2. That's nicely hammered, psycho. All adds to the mojo of a working bass as far as I'm concerned. Nice bass. Great price. This won't be here long. Q: Is there any sign of the 'EX' letters in the pocket? It looks like that neck was destined to be a part of an 'EXTRAD' model at one time. I reckon 95/96 is a good vintage as far as Jap Fenders go. Bump san.
  3.
Are you allowed to say, a future collectible?
You are allowed to say it, JJ. Bumperoonie

When you say "vintage" pickups... how vintage are they? What colour is it? Have you got any pix? Cheers.
  5. An 'aw shucks, it was nuthin`...' type of bump.
  6.
Bump for this gorgeous Jazz, whilst asking mckendrick,
PM'd reply.
  7.
Red p is never good....
....tho' largely unavoidable after consuming copious quantities of beetroot. Have an indecisive 'still gassing' bump.

  9.
....plus Mrs D has a thing about 'pink' basses.
Is that a 'thing' for them... or against them, deaver? Just curious, you understand.
  10.
Unfortunately, I used those pickups in another project, I just haven't found useful to keep them in a drawer.
GAS much reduced. Good luck with the sale. It's a real beauty.
  11.
Thank you both! Next bunch of pictures, some useful details....
Serious GAS going on here, davidak, but.... ....do you have the original pickups, and if so please can you post a pic of their undersides...? Thanks.
  12.
Definitely the best looking jazz I've seen in a long time. I think the pups are the same as those in the US standards - that's the score with my MIM 50's P Bass...
Tis rare I repeat myself.... The MIM 60's reissues have made in Mexico pickups: part # 0058358000 (neck) and 0058359000 (bridge). Am. Standard pt #'s: 0033753000 (neck) and 0033746000 (bridge). Hope this helps.
  13. Greetings, neil_d. Welcome to BC.
  14.
i would imagine a bass like this would have USA pickups, what do MIMs usually use....
Made in Mexico. Part #'s 0058358000 (neck) and 0058359000 (bridge)
  15.
I have some beautiful carvings made from Mick Karn's offcuts.
16.
Wish I had space for it...
I wish it was sunburst!
Wish I had space for it.

Space? You've got cars haven't you?

Nope, the wife has
Bye, bye the wife.
  17.
I think they are overrated.
+1
But I can't hear the difference between a Fender Jazz and a Precision.
18.
Hi there Sorry to do this but thats not the original case it may be what it came with. The original musicman cases are tapered and have the MM logo on the in silver.
Sorry to do this, but I bought a brand new 78 Stingray in, er..., 79..., and it came in a case remarkabley similar to the one Briggy's comes with..
  19. Put your pix on Photobucket, give them a url., then post them using the 'image' button....
  20.
I've been looking for a black/maple P bass for a while with a budget of up to 700 quid. I've just been offered a 50s P in black/maple (complete with the bloody awful anodised pick guard) for 340. I'd describe the condition as 'ex-demo'. Trouble is, I have concerns over the slotted truss rod, wider neck, vintage radius...the scratch plate I can live with! So, does anyone have experience of these basses? To me, it sounds better than a standard MIM and the finish is superb. But I still have reservations. Someone help me out!
Lovin' the pickguard, boss.... don't alter it. Keep it as it is and you'll get a lot more than your £340 for it if and when you decide to sell. That is a steal. Try and get used to it, tho'... it'll reward you in time. Great basses, those.
  21.
The Wilkinson's I've heard have been flat uninspiring ordinary sounding pups. (a penny to a pound the same people recommending Wilkinsons will hate Ashdown though. )
I hate 'em both. I think our friend PBurrows should pop a set of 62's .... .... in it. Oomph, pop, ping, growl an' honk. There you go... proper bridge, proper pickups, proper Fender Bass.
  22.
anyone want to buy a Bad Ass going cheap?
I sold one on here recently.... I could have sold it twelve time times over. It went in less than an hour. Ditch the Badass.... put a stock Fender bridge back on there. Make it sound like a Fender again.
  23. I always meet. Not that I wouldn't use a courier, but at my age I just love the days out.
