Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!
Funny.... that's exactly what I thought. Lovely bass, Loz. Good luck with the sale. Free bump.
 2.
Jazz wins.
Word up, Bro'.
 3. With regard to the opening post: 4th. I was pretty indifferent to the Warwick sound. Seemed to be lacking some character although nicely balanced across the hz. Even clarity. 3rd. The Precision is as the Precision does. Big bottom end, lots of character. 2nd. P/J introduced some nice highs over the P yet retained that P character. Retained that big bottom nicely. 1st. Not a big bottom but a nice colourful character and loads of clarity without too much filth. What sealed it here for me was that ethereal hollow thang on the ascending bottom E to G.
I can't remember the last time I've used my Jazz full on both PUP and I've never used
Interesting, that. I only play them with both p/ups balanced. ,
 4. Welkom '58. .
 5.
If you can hit root notes and keep time you can play in a band
Exactly! Welcome, Maarten.
 6.
I love these type of guitar stands!.
Doubles as excellent bike stand, too.
 7. Bumping.... Always wanted: New, used, or simply unwanted Fender MIA V-series Bridges/saddles/screws, reverse tuners/bushings/screws, string trees/screws, P-bass p/ups, J-bass p/ups, pots, caps, covers/screws.... nickel stuff. Fender MIJ/CIJ pickguards/screws. .
 8.
...but not a pair of trousers that fit.
Maybe he needed to dress in a hurry. Re: the Jazz Bass. Quite liking it tho' would have prefered seeing it in a darker burst (like the one on the P-bass, maybe) and dot markers. I'm so used to a binding around a neck with blocks. Die hard, or what? Didn't notice the 'knurled knobs' as described on the 'Details' page, and would be interested to get a much closer look at the "stealth string retainer".... .
 9.
Please remember that this is a sale thread - not a general discussion.
Forgive me. Discussion over. Gas now evaporated. No more questions. Promise. .
 10.
Oh, I wasn't upset, each to his owm! C necks forever!
Correct. 'ickle skinny teeny-weeny ones. Bump.
 11. ...it certainly is - and here's some more: maybe I'm deaf, but the pick-up in my current MIJ 51re-ish (Q003**) sounds way more musical than the dead meat in my old Telecaster Bass. Q's: which bit needed machining: the p/up or the body? What was the requirement for the new pickguard? Yours is a better colour than mine. I may be getting gas. Best open a window.
 12.
This particular model has been learning to play now for about 4 months and is already a decent player. I help of course and she is av ery intelligent young lady and a karate black belt into the bargain. I have a goal to manage a band of girls who make music like Sonic Youth/Little Axe but look, well, striking. That's all by the by for now as I'm selling or trading this bass
Cameras and lights, eh? Pickguard looks totally different in this pic. I'm guessing it's not original....? Cool contours everywhere, tho'. .
 13.
I have to say I'd love to have a Gibson EB-3 in great condition. Of course, I tend to go for that deep sound that Jack Bruce had with Cream.
Thunderous, Man. Not too kean, but I wouldn't blink twice at a slot-head model in good nick. My first bass was actually an Ibanez EB-3 copy.... and I have to say, it was a superb bass all in all. This from a Jazz Bass bod! Should I be embarassed? .
 14.
[sup]...a good example of the colour scheme/reference as well.[/sup]
Nothing wrong with that, Sir. A classic, robust, most handsome colour scheme..
 15.
3 - Do they do Jazz pickups which have a split coil....so basically a Precision pickup in a Jazz casing? Or are those just approximating the sound?....are they no substitute for a P?
I got some Curtis Novak splits in the fretless MIJ and they do pretty much what they say on the tin: they replicate a real good Jazz sound but without the noise at unbalanced volume control positions. Can't speak for any other split Jazz p/ups and haven't heard any Jazz shaped P mimics - at least not to my knowledge. I'd be routing a P-Bass for a Jazz p/up. I think they look real cool, too - which begs the question: why do J's with a P p/up at the bridge look so very wrong....? .
 16. ....and Parcel Force
 17.
I once had some trouble with a seller. Ebay were pants. Almost automated responses. Long story but, to be honest, but it went on for about 6 bloody weeks. I think you may end up disliking the bass because of bad feelings. Personally I would write the situation off because the more it drags on, the worse you will feel.... ....If it's more about principle to you, **** it. Turn the other cheek and move on man.
I'm inclined to agree. I always collect, meself. I hate E-Bay, by the way.
 18. Hello Emily Jaguar. Welcome! I thought the Beatles were American.
 19.
When the day gets near we'll see if we can organise a meetup of Basschat forumers there!
Looking at each other will be great fun.
 20.
My first post here for a while so I thought I'd pop this one up. Sublime.
That'll do me. Nice one, kennyrodg.
 21.
Why? Nothing special about Jazz necks, let's face it. Suits some, not others!
That was a smile I threw you, not a handbag. I promise to be deadly serious next time. Happy New Year. Anyway, you're wrong.
 22.
Now, I only bought them because I'm a slag and they look real sexy. Etienne wears them because he has massively acidic sweat....
You both really need to change those diets.
 23. Always gassing. New year, old year, any year. Lemme think.... L-series Jazz Sadowsky V4 with a tasty top EBS 350, 2x10, 1x15 Winning lottery ticket Not much, really.
 24.
Bass Player Magazine had him on the cover last month, and the Guardian had Brainfeeder (with a photo of him, The Gaslamp Killer and Flying Lotus) on the cover of the Guardian Guide a couple of weeks ago, they also noted it's been said he is the future of bass, and clearly thought what Brainfeeder are doing is incredibly innovative. I heard some of Thundercat's album the other day, 'The Golden Age of the Apoclypse', he's a very, very clever bassist, no doubt, and revered in high circles, mates with Hadrien Feraud, Stanley Clark, et al, but the music bored the sh*t out of me. I just can't see any real merit in it. Can you?
Only in and for a limited market of fellow nerdy bass players.
 25.
....Jazz necks are a no-no for me.
*horrified*
