I agree with that - they do take some setting up out of the box even if you have a good one. I forgot to mention it above, but I've mildly rolled the fretboard edges on this and dressed the fret ends and that makes a big difference in the playability. They are never going to be a shredder because of the tree trunk neck, but that just adds to the charm I think.

Sonar Cakewalk is back and now Free from BandLab!!

Which of the plugins are particularly good? I've mostly used Ableton, but I don't find it particularly intuitive so might give this a go when recording next. -

Dean Edge 6er - £90 - worth more in parts

I'm going to try and avoid the temptation, but if the bidding stays this low it may not be possible... -

If that had a post option I'd b probably have it just for a bit of fun. Then again if it had a post option more people would be bidding! -

Thanks very much, it's a great bass, but I'm emigrating later in the year (hopefully) so reducing to the absolute minimum. That said it will be hard to let this go because of of the work put in. Great experience doing it though, in think I'll try building one from stratch once I've moved. Good luck with modding yours.

Modded Harley Benton PB50 - £150 Shipped UK. I realise I'm asking more than they sell for new, but a lot of work has gone into this and if I can't get the price I'd probably rather keep it. Lots of info on basschat on these basses, so I'll just go into the mods: Neck stripped and refinished in tru oil Light fret dress (last 2 frets were high) Full length neck shim Fender Jaguar bridge mute fitted (£30) Wilkinson brass saddle bridge (£10) Brass nut (£10) Seymour Duncan SCPB2 (£30) Original Wilkinson Pickup and Bridge will be shipped with the bass. Currently strung with D'Addario nickel rounds. Includes a tatty, slightly warped but serviceable hard case and UK insured shipping. With the Original pickup fitted you could knock £30 off the asking price. Im on the Isle of Wight so in the unlikely event you are local for pickup, take £20 off. Any Questions, please ask, Dan https://photos.app.goo.gl/87JOhPPj9Wkr4bat2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/8CxVUrqZKT4iJnGB2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/iUyskepJBtqtbRCm2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/bN1DvpX3yYSwvMLc2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/5jlA0YwDo3t5M6Xy1 (that's not a scratch on the headstock its a fleck in the wood grain) https://photos.app.goo.gl/eOlXtIJcZTPUh2bo1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/3s3ZPYIkY2pyQQnp1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/QWH8TbNWeiGNLipm2

I'm reducing my bass gear down to the bare minimum due to an intention to emigrate later in the year - so next among a few things I've moved on is my main bass amp: TC Electronic RH450 Head - This has been gigged but looked after but unfortunately has a scratch on the casing (underside) - pics at bottom link. I'm sure you can look up the specs but the head has an awesome spectracomp compressor built in, Tuner and 3 channels (memory presets) as well as a 'tube tone' knob (a drive effectively). Don't have the original box but still has all the case candy. I use a laptop bag as a gig bag and it’s a perfect fit (included). £275 SOLD RC4 footswitch £50 – Optional remote for the head with channel switching, mute and tuner. The footswitch has never been gigged but still has a scratch near the '2' switch. For those viewing on a mobile I'm on the Isle of Wight if local pick up is an option for you, in the likely event it isn't, will post at cost fully insured (probably around £5-10 for the footswitch) . Any questions get in contact, Cheers, Dan (note the cabs in some of these pics have already sold) Footswitch: https://photos.app.goo.gl/a3rF9WWOPvpZQDSD2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/PY5bTO2PL6sWEqQ23 https://photos.app.goo.gl/T5qPq2b1gNew5EqZ2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/f6SaaB5g6Argifp73

Let us know how you get on with them. A studio close to me was/is selling 2 sets for £30 or £32 for 5 string. Only have nickel hex core though. I've been meaning to try them but haven't been playing bass lately due to an injury.

Newtone strings, made in UK use round cores. Prices seem to vary, about 25-30 on their website but I've seen them local to me for 15 a set.

Is this genuine Fender Custom Shop?
No. 8 Wire replied to No. 8 Wire's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I think this is what this guy is selling https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/True-Custom-Shop-60s-Reissue-Vintage-Hot-Pickup-Set-for-Fender-Precision-P-Bass-/172811206750 In think the story stinks as well. How could the bass get totally trashed and yet leave the pickguard untouched. Where is the bridge and the tuners? Even the neckplate would be worth something if it was custom shop. -
Paul bought a RS112 Cab off me. Very easy transaction and what's more he saved me from having to cut this cab in half and use it as a crib for my soon to be arriving twin boys.

Seen this on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/fender-custom-shop-Bass-/263565003161 Is this really a Fender Custom Shop loaded pickguard? I quite like the idea of a bakelite pickguard but this just looks suspicious. Slightly blurred images mean you can't pick out the details - but the pickups just don't look like anything you would normally se in a reissue bass, and I've never heard of any fender pickups called 60's vintage hot with a 17k dc resistance. Also, no thumbrest holes and 13 holes in pickguard - would that be normal on a 60's CS? Lastly I can't quite make out the cap or the pots, but the cap looks like a modern bog standard brown cap rather than any kind of vintage one, the wiring doesn't look like what I've seen in reissue or custom shop basses either. Any thoughts?

Fair enough. Sounds like you need to get a mod duo and then tweak any effect in any configuration to your hearts content..... come to think of it, why haven't I got one?
-
Well to be honest I'm just looking into getting a MM for some home recording so no practical experience yet. I haven't looked into all the sound clips yet, but on this thread the guys using it are talking about getting shimmer with reverse reverb type effects. Have a read or do a word search on shimmer in the thread. https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/95/

I'm not a pedal junkie so could be way out here, but doesn't the memory man with hazarai do something close to what you are after?
