1. 2nd cab now on hold pending the obvious. RH450 and Footswitch still available
2. I've found TransferWise to be best so far.
3. 1 x RS112 now sold but one (as new) still available - as is the head and footswitch.
4. 1 x RS112 (the £180 one) on hold for eddbass pending the usual formalities.
5. I'm reducing my bass gear down to the bare minimum due to an intention to emigrate later in the year - so next among a few things I've moved on is my bass rig - which hasn't actually been used much due to some nerve issues in my hands I'm recovering from. Anyway, here it is: TC Electronic RH450 Head - This has been gigged but looked after but unfortunately has a scratch on the casing (underside) - pics at bottom link. I'm sure you can look up the specs but the head has an awesome spectracomp compressor built in, Tuner and 3 channels (memory presets) as well as a 'tube tone' knob (a drive effectively). Don't have the original box but still has all the case candy. I use a laptop bag as a gig bag and it’s a perfect fit (included). £275 RC4 footswitch £50 – Optional remote for the head with channel switching, mute and tuner. Note - there were two RS112 cabs but both have now sold. For those viewing on a mobile I'm on the Isle of Wight if local pick up is an option for you, in the likely event it isn't, will post at cost (probably around £15). https://photos.app.goo.gl/1rDoyt45k2BMKO7C3 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Msgr4AXHTxTbAe3J2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ufbzqun6M6uIaS1G2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/F6evqlvoif2iRLtd2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/3ehIHXSNejvxNoqF2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Y6D9THr2CvLlaaeA3
6. Surely with packing up all that kit it was the longest storming out it could possibly be. Did noone say anything during the packing up? I'm imagining 5 minutes of angry packing while the band looks on in awkward silence...
7. They will be posted in the for sale section at an outrageous price listed in euros in an eastern European country.... pick up only. Eventually after 332 bumps the price will finally be reduced to the market rate and delivery will be offered for 50% of the face value per ticket.
8. How dare you Sir! I'll be playing them on my upcoming album: whale and dolphin noises in the key of F minor. Coming soon to an elevator near you....
9. Yes, but think of the upper fret access!
10. Good shout, I see truss rods are optional on Wishbasses too.
11. Maybe that's why the neck is so massive?
12. Yeah I don't like to judge! Not for me, but then a Fodera single cut wouldn't be either so maybe my taste isn't to be trusted.... Not many luthier built basses come up locally so just interested if these things have a following or if this is an orphan. Have to say though, it has an awfully large neck on that beast, must either neck dive or feel heavy on the shoulder.
13. Anyone heard of Dark Hollow Basses from Canada? http://www.wightbay.com/shanklin/leisure/dark-hollow-custom-canadian-5-string-fretless-bass-5606019/
14. Looks like the Tye Zamora bass popped up on here before: And on fleabay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FENDER-Custom-Shop-Tye-Zamora-OAR-6-String-Bass-Guitar-Alien-Ant-Farm-21142-/181680800060
15. Nah, Warwick are a German company.......
16. Ouch that is rank. However it has striking similarities to another phallically well endowed range of basses which has a large and loyal following. I guess this is good evidence that Fender should stick to what it is good at.
17. I don't really get what the hand ringing about fender is - its a 'heritage' type brand. You can get a slightly more modern style of fender if you buy a USA Jackson or an EVH (okay guitars only that last one). But I still don't get the ragging on fender - if they produced coffee table versions of their basses then suddenly there would be no room for the 'boutique' style basses, 90% of which are just that.
18. Just on the lack of innovation thing. EVH guitars and amps are made by fender, yes they are not out there in terms of design etc but they are very different from the standard fender fare. http://www.evhgear.com/gear/ Are there any other makes out there that are really fenders? Edit: looks like Jackson and charvel are produced in house at fender too.
19. The fender part no is fender 0994406000 Don't know of any UK stock but ordering from the US has been fine for me in the past. As long as you can get someone to post USPS it will be cheap. Probably cheaper than a UK agent.. if they stocked it.
20. Bruce Dickinson gives a good summary of the BS surrounding modern music genres. I agree with him, it's all made up rubbish. The fact is just about any band can be classified as Rock. I'm not a huge one for lists, but they have their uses. I like the ones on digital dream door and have often used them for set list ideas, ideas for songs to learn and practice etc. Anyway, you might be surprised by some of the entries in greatest 'rock' artist: https://digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_artistsddd.html
21. Who would be included in a top 20 if 'rock' was dropped? What is the top 20 British bands of any genre?
22.
Much as I love Rumours and Tusk, my vote goes to the Peter Green era every time - plus that way they'd qualify as a fully British band, I believe!
Yep, me too, Peter Green era by a long shot.
