1. Thanks guys! Yes, it was a lot of work, what with selecting, photoshopping, uploading to flickr, writing the text, finding the website address for each exhibitor, and linking each photo one by one. But I love doing this
2. Welcome back, Paul! Hope you've chosen a memorable password - we don't want to lose you
3. Oh, damn, Bob - see what I mean? Some names I learned during that weekend are a blur to my mind! Apologies - name removed. The gentleman in that pic is kindly invited to come forward!
4. Thanks Timmo. I'm still editing the text all the time, so you guys feel free to suggest improvements or point out errors and omissions, as always.
5. Right, I made it! That Blog - at last! http://wp.me/p2ZbyY-s8 A warning: it's absolutely huge! Edited because the url it initially gave me was too generic.
6. Triumphant return to the Halfway House in Barnes last night https://flic.kr/s/aHsk9jYRb6
7. Post photos, guys, please, and I'll tweet the thread to our followers!
8.
What's under the ashtray? Mutes?
Yup, there's some kind of vintage felt or dampening material. (I couldn't refrain from looking, while I was taking those pictures, of course... )
9. Great stuff, Mick. When you have narrowed down the date, I'll put my name on the list. Everybody - Mick is saying the truth about his contacts with manufacturers. With your help, we can think of interesting ways of getting them to help us carry out tests, comparisons, experiments and similar. I will tweet this thread tomorrow, and pin it to the top when we have decided on the date. In the meantime, feel free to read the photoblogs of the previous Herts and South East bashes by following the first link in my signature.
10. A few more bass people I took pics of at the LBGS - excluding the performances for the moment. Paul Geary OBBM being shown That Musicman Stingray Basschatter Alfie Noakes! (Thanks for reminding me of your name) Martin Lee of Overwater with BCer RK7 Ellio Martina, Marc Vanderkley and Cody Wright Elaine Smith of D'Addario Doctor Of The Bass (Nick) and G-77 Chris May and Kirsty Cowe of Overwater Lots more pics to follow - I'm slowly selecting them and preparing to add them to That Blog
11. And here is the Markbass team!
12.
You guys at the Markbass stand had to endure him at a short distance, poor you...
That was not sarcastic, by the way, I really mean it. Must have been pretty horrid in that corner. One more pic: Basschatter Chris Sharman and his awesome, cake-providing other half
13. You guys at the Markbass stand had to endure him at a short distance, poor you...
14.
Also, I'll just leave my (public) fb album from LBGS here: https://www.facebook...=1&l=be77263407 don't expect Bluejay's quality or quantity of photos, still some of you may find some interesting. I had a good time, the loudness was indeed less obnoxious than last year.
Marcin, those pics are great! Forget about my photos - this isn't some kind of competition, and mine aren't ready yet, anyway Incidentally, anyone know who this lefty gentleman with a rockstar look is? He was at the Porter & Davies stand.
15. The Dogs had a great first-ever gig at the Chiswick Club Society - on their home patch of W4 - on Saturday. There was a lot of dancing, and some of it - by older punters! - was seriously impressive https://flic.kr/s/aHsk9cjRPc
16. And one of me, courtesy of Shelley Incidentally, the guys behind me were creating bass guitars and double basses from scratch and I'll be showing step-by-step photos of the awesome process in my blog.
17. Awesome I'm only just beginning to sort out the total of over 600 photos I took. A couple of pics are ready: Basschatters out and about on Saturday Mick The Greek, Lozz and Shelley: Shelley with Walman: Many, many more to follow...
18. I'm now at home, exhausted and happy. I have watched many great performances, talked to Steve Lawson, Stu Hamm, Billy Sheehan among others, met lots of lovely people at all the stands, and taken a ridiculous number of photos. Watch this space for that blog...
19. The place is heaving!! Who said that the show was going to be poorly attended? How wrong can you be??
20. Ooooo I'm soo there, Barrie! See you tomorrow!
21.
Can ear plugs be purchased at the show?
There may even be some free earplugs, IIRC.
22. And I've finally got round to selecting the pics of last Saturday gig at The Black Horse in Greenford. Much fun was had by all! https://flic.kr/s/aHsk8Z6rhA
23.
I realise I've left it a bit late, but there's no answer from the organiser's phone no - any idea what price under 14's admission is??
Try PMing Joel McIver and/or the LBGS account that's on this forum (best do both). They may get an alert email and reply.
