1. Adrian was at the London Bass Guitar Show with no stand to speak of, but with an array of extremely GAS-inducing basses on display that had people stopping and admiring in awe. He had no left-handed models there, though, which I guess saved my bank account, at least this time round
2. Thumbs up, but could I please ask those who post a review here to also post it in the normal Basschatters' Reviews forum? After all, even if the model reviewed is left-handed, at least some of what is said about it may be applicable to its righty counterpart. (The same goes for reviews of RH basses/guitars/etc., obviously.) Two copies of one review, in two different places, are better and more useful than no review anywhere
3. That's fantastic, and I've just tweeted this thread
4. Warwick Rockbass Corvette 5 fretless NS Design NXT 5 https://www.flickr.com/photos/bluejay_my_photos/sets/72157629892313087/ Warwick Rockbass Fortress 5
5.
How about lefties who play bass right handed?
Probably a larger number than lefties playing bass left-handed, unfortunately.
6. LOL guys, blablas builds his own basses, check this thread out: http://basschat.co.u...-build-project/ Edit: this is his website: http://home.online.nl/blablas/bass/index.htm
7. A lefty drumkit has to be one cool bit of equipment! And of course, the chances of a stranger borrowing it on the night are greatly reduced
8. Some semi-serious advantages are mentioned in the first couple of links in my blog entry here http://leftybassgirl.wordpress.com/2014/03/31/pride-or-self-pity/
9. The new Warwick Triumph Lite, which isn't (yet?) available in LH flavour. http://www.warwick.d...--Pictures.html
10. Guys, this thread is now part of the new Lefties subsection under Bass Guitars. Let's all get outta here and start creating newer, tidier threads
11. Following requests from some lefty members, and after a rather painful process, we have now created a separate Lefties subsection in the Bass Guitars forum. http://basschat.co.uk/forum/103-lefties/ Unlike with the previous, single lefty thread (which is still there), it is now possible to create as many separate threads as we like. For instance, we can have a thread reserved to the lefty basses we are hoping to get our hands on sooner or later (or in another life), another thread to talk about our left-handed heroes (if we have any), another to collect info on gigbags and cases suitable for left-handed models, and so on and so forth. Guys and gals, lefty or righty equally welcome, PLEASE USE THE SECTION. Don't let it die of neglect. Thanks.
12. If non-paid-for ads aren't tolerated elsewhere on the forum, any ads appearing in the new section would be deleted in the same way as anywhere else. I'd love whoever call it is to create a new subforum to listen to the membership's wishes in this case. It shouldn't require any change in the software, the same way as creating the subforums in the Gigs and Recording forums didn't need an interface tweak, as far as I know.
13. In what way was the thread being abused? And wouldn't a standalone section containing separate threads be easier to manage and protect from abuse, whatever that may be? Why not try creating this new subforum, seeing that the lefty minority is requesting one?
14. This is the new entry I was talking about above: http://wp.me/p4hMGq-1T.
15. Mike, I think you've overreacted, and kudos to you for apologising. UglyDog isn't a troll or a jerk. And this from someone who is pretty militant too - I'm writing another entry in my LH Resource page blog (currently only in its infancy - link in my sig) and getting rather wound up in the process, so I really feel your pain and anger Let's reboot and start from scratch and... http://www.lefthandedpiano.com/
16. I don't think anyone's trolling the issue - it is a fact that there are fewer lefties than righties, also because a relatively large number of lefties play righty and, on this website, will count as righties. As a consequence, any lefty-only section will tend to be much less active than the rest of the forum, and probably feel a bit like the ghetto you objected to above. I'm personally not against having an entire mini-section to ourselves but I'm reasonably sure we'd soon become depressed at is lack of activity.
17. I guess that goes for any ebay-themed thread... Anyway, the admins' suggestions is simply to create threads with "LH" or similar in the title, as opposed to having one dedicated section or thread within the ebay subforum.
18.
Maybe start a Left-handed thread in the eBay - Weird and wonderful subforum to post links to interesting lefty items on eBay, Gumtree and the likes?
That sounds like a good idea and I'm going to suggest it to the admins
19. Not sure about the potential usefulness of a full-fledged LH "section", as we already have this thread for LH-related talk and the Lefty for Sale ghetto (Note: I'm quite positive that's meant as a joke! All the subforum headings are supposed to be read with GSOH). As for the rest of this site, we're bassists like everyone else on here, so we can, and should, engage in common discussions.
20. We were up in the circle too. Excellent seats, we could actually see and hear the whole gig and we were at a reasonable distance, but yes, Andy you're right, Norman's bass was barely audible, badly mixed in and thin. We had no problem hearing any of the other instruments in both bands, so it wasn't due to our position in the house.
21. Well, there is an NCP or similar pay-per-hour car park at the back of the Lyric theatre...
22. Didn't know they have Wilko as support act. Excellent Edited because I seemed to think Quo are a "he" as opposed to a "they"...
23. Dani Molino has none other than BC's very own Happy Jack on double bass PS See you there, Elias!
