To sum up what I mention in that other thread: - bridge can be flipped around, but the grooves need to be filed to give the strings the correct angle. That will probably mean the grooves will soon become too deep, and the bridge will need to be filed or replaced. - nut can be filed, but the G string will have to end up in the large groove where the E string was - and may need a small piece of cork to avoid being too low and buzzing against the fingerboard. - bracket will need to be repositioned, which implies moving the threaded clamp and drilling a hole in the body in the correct places. In my experience the bracket [b]is[/b] useful in all cases. Good luck I've got both a "leftied" HB and a left-handed NS 5string upright and agree with the comments above regarding both.

If it's like last year, no other food will be provided, which means bringing sandwiches and similar from home or a shop for lunch. London gigs advertised there will necessarily have a much higher success rate, in terms of influencing people from BC to come and see the band, due to the sheer density of the population. I'm subscribed to that forum and get every new thread sent to me via email. Through that I have been to gigs by BCers I didn't know at all, as well as BCers i'm friends with. My opinion is that the forum is fine as it is - you do need social media and a website, possibly all clickable in your sig, if you really want to spread the word to non-bassists, though.

For instance, what use are the "friends" we have here? We don't get preferred updates from them, or indeed have any more interaction with them than with all other members. So yes, I'd be in favour of a slightly more complete profile feature on here. As for Facebook, Steve - it's now mostly driven by marketing ideals, and the main currency is our data, our eyeballs, and ultimately our wallets. I'm using it as my little black book of music-related contacts, and it works fabulously for sharing events, Basschat projects such as the We Need Strings and the Basschat Relay, for inviting people to gigs and our Bashes, sharing band pages and my Basschat-related blogs, etc.
