South East Bass Bash No.7, Surrey, Saturday 21st September 2013
Silvia Bluejay replied to silverfoxnik's topic in Events
No probs, and sorry if I came over a bit grumpy. I did have an inkling, but no idea of the details of how it worked. It was evident from the thread it was widely talked about ... I just couldn't find out how it worked.
If I manage to persuade James to attend with the Baton, and to spend most of my time taking photos and videos of absolutely everything and everybody, obviously including the Relay, then by the end of the bash you'll probably be able to write a book about it! -
Last few days left to buy the whole weekend ticket at £32.56, if you are so inclined. I've got mine and will be there, wearing my BC lanyard, hopefully (wo)manning a BC corner

Apologies if it wasn't clear - I thought you might already have an inkling that some sort of bass guitar relay had been happening on Basschat (many of us do go on about it a bit, after all! ). The FB page is http://www.facebook.com/BcBassRelay. -
In case anybody would like to see a better photo of the Guitarist article, here it is - taken today at my nearest WHSmith
Looking more likely that I will be able to get there - woot!
Excellent! I hope all those who are doubtful will manage to attend. It's going to be awesome with so many people and so much gear! Question to organisers and helpers: How are things proceeding with workshop/masterclasses and guests? -

I don't know, but I bloody well hope so...

Been like that for a long time. Apparently there's an all-new blog, with a different hosting system, coming our way in the near future.

That would be unfeasibly cool! The next best thing would be to have at least the Baton there with us. But I'll be pestering James and asking him to try and make it in person -
By the way, WoT, may I suggest unpinning the Staffs Bash (been and gone) and pinning this thread instead, alongside the SE Bash thread? You can do it cos you're a mod As always, please take photos and record stuff for the rest of us

I'm giving this another shout on Twitter, and I'll keep reminding our followers until the date

YAY! Someone please remember to take a guitar or two (I know Si/MacDaddy is going to have his in the car for the gig later that evening). -
LOL I would still prefer Tenerife Go on the hol and have a great time, Shell - we'll organise a weekend London meetup at some point, for those who have to miss the "official" gatherings.
-
Er, any hope of having this looked at after all? Currently 632 followers and slowly rising, but a Follow Us on Twitter button at least on the home page would help. Still very grateful for all the hard work going on behind the scenes.

And I've just realised I forgot to mention in my thanks those, like Grangur and others before him, gave the Baton a lift from A to B even if they had no opportunity to play it.
For those that haven't seen the Facebook post... Tomorrow, the Portsmouth News will be printing an article on us again and also, on the 8th of September, the bass and I will be heading to Bristol to meet up with Peter Hook!
So we have Mark King, Andrew Levy and Peter Hook more or less for certain, and we are still in talks to meet up with Guy Pratt and Dave Swift. Besides James and his hard work, we need to thank Lars Mullen and Donald "Donnyboy" and John "Rhino" Edwards, who got us in touch with Lars in the first place. And let's not forget all of you who have played the Baton, no matter whether it was to an audience of 5 penniless punters or 500 well-heeled concert-goers, and those who gave and are still giving money at the gigs and through the website. And in a corner, Milty and I keeping track of all that We are an impressive team indeed.
