Anyone going? Or playing in one of the acts? I'm thinking of possibly popping down tomorrow evening or at the weekend.

I'm in awe. I simply can't get along with wrongly-shaped basses, as in righties used upside-down. It's not just the knobs in the wrong place, it's the moulding of the back and the cutouts, and basically everything else... Even worse than having to use "normal" scissors with your left hand (I now use them with my right out of desperation).

Bit of a catch-22 here. Many left-handed people learn to play instruments right-handed because there are too few models, and they don't sell on easily, and manufacturers don't offer more left-handed models because there are far fewer left-handed players than left-handed people (the latter already being a minority).

Just back from the first day. I saw BCer BigJim play with Robert Hokum's Blues Band and with the Devil Drives, and BCer PaulKing with his Jump 66. I have no preference, so I'm fine with D'Addario (I use their Chromes on my 5ers too!). How urgent is a change of strings? If we could hold it for a few more days, here's hoping we might hear from someone in the press and see the relay suddenly become more bankable?

Suggestions, please!). Now, if only someone, anyone from the press I contacted got in touch, we could mention that to the potential sponsor and whet their appetite somewhat... Incidentally, I received a few automated replies to my mailshot, and the gist of them is that papers receive literally thousands of press releases every day and sifting through them takes time. So we better not hold our collective breath. But I'm still hopeful.
