1.
Could we have a Latin workshop please?
LOL I think I could do with one
2.
Sorry, but it's fourth declension not fifth. Fifth declension are e-stems.
I clearly can't remember my old grammar school days, which means I'd be left out of the door if the bash only admitted those familiar with Latin
3.
Bah! I'll only bring one of 'em then!
LOL no, please don't, your Statuses/Statii/Status are gorgeous and we want to see as many of them as possible!
4. I imagined they didn't mean to follow the Latin 5th declension (bo-ring!), but Stati would look a little less odd. Come to think of it, that's probably why they chose the weird version! We all noticed it now
5. Out of curiosity, why do people refer to the plural of Status basses as Statii, when it should actually be Stati? Timmo, you are wecome to attend just for the socialising angle
6. Will the BCBaton be in the area at the time? Would be great if Guy Pratt could make the meetup and also play the baton.

8. @ Shelley - what a shame, indeed. Hope to see you on another occasion soon. @ Ad - Oooo, checked your FB profile, you're less than a year ahead of me on that big birthday! I'll flood your page with birthday wishes at the right time. I'll make sure my blog will make those who can't make it in person feel like they were there nonetheless
9. Check out this thread and please reply there: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/212114-south-east-bass-bash-no7-surrey-saturday-21st-september-2013/page__view__findpost__p__2138695
10. Thank you Nick (and Colin and Mrs) - I am tweeting this as we speak, will retweet periodically, and obviously plan to be there and write my customary photoblog about the day. I'm still left with some BC lanyards to give to ticket-paying punters, and hopefully I'll find some more prizes for the raffle (I used all I had in the previous raffles!). 11. Thanks for mentioning this, MrF, I didn't know about the courses. Linkies below. The Metal Hammer one would be right up my street (despite being in Brighton, durr...) if I had the time and the money, and if the thought of getting out of the bedroom and playing with others didn't scare the bejeesus out of me http://www.bimm.co.u...-summer-schools http://www.bimm.co.u...-summer-schools
12.
They might last a thousand years more than other picks but I'll still lose em' at the same rate.
This!
13. Haven't tried the actual picks, so I can't comment on those, but I unfollowed Chickenpicks' Twitter feed from our Basschat account because they're incredibly spammy - they post all the time, but offer nothing of real interest except endless - and very frequent - repetition of advertising slogans and assorted claims. (Or at least they did until my Unfollow made them disappear from BC's feed!). A lesson on how not to run a social media account.
14. None that I know about, I'm afraid. That time of the year is when most people are on holiday, and organising something for one of those days would be a bit risky. We hope to be back with a bass bash in September.
15. I have a feeling that we'll be seeing a lot more of that Matamp at the Dogs' gigs They are playing the George IV in Chiswick this Friday 12th, 9pm.
16. Must be an issue with Firefox (all releases), because more often than not this site is slow as treacle to load on all of my machines. All other sites are fine. I'm against IE and Chrome so I don't use them.
17.
Thanks for the lovely pics Silvia. Pity no one captured the granny zooming past the front of the stage on her mobility scooter...
It was a pleasure, Ad! The problem with taking photos of your setup was that you guys were in the shade, compared with the extremely bright surroundings, and had a dark backdrop. That meant I had to zoom in as close as possible, rather than take more panoramic shots, or the result would have been either the band disappearing in a dark background while the audience/scooter etc. were correctly exposed, or the band being visible but the audience becoming a bright blob of white light. The above possibly due to my relatively cheap - and hence limited - camera and my refusal to have anything to do with Photoshop and the like
18. Day of gorgeous sunshine Some photos from the Jetsonics gig: http://www.flickr.co...57634528690385/ First photo of six:
19. Bump because this is a brilliant thread, and here is a photo of Happy Jack with his new Matamp, taken at the Junkyard Dogs' gig last night. The amp (as well as the bass and cabs!) sounded awesome
20. LOL your Pee bass is even better than the model on ebay Do you ever play it live?
21. Hmmm, 666 would have been better Have you seen this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/sh*t-o-Caster-fretless-4-string-bass-/251291077220?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3a821d8a64
22. Do Alembics still have an adjustable nut? That would at least make two manufacturers offering the system, out of the hundreds out there.
23. I'm sensing another photo opportunity being thrown at me for this Saturday night!
