1. Waiting for Happy Jack to post his long list... Yours truly doesn't play in a band but enjoys helping with the roadying for friends, taking (lots of) photos and videos of their gigs, keeping an eye on their social media if needed, and offering her (hopefully informed) opinion of performances, recordings etc. if/when asked.
2. So, some of us have recently been there and others are going soon. Here's my take on my quick visit. Those of you who are attending bass camps or simply going there on a music-themed holiday, please add your own blogs! It's an awesome city. 3. YAY! Congrats! Fretless is cool Keep us posted on how you get on with the new baby
4. Kudos to you, Glefty, for defying all the "but there aren't nearly as many models to choose from" naysayers...
5.
and what polo did I wear?
\m/ \m/
6. Soo jealous of those who are there! Ped, Kiwi, can I be Basschat's Musikmesse reporter next year? Please? I would write and publish a lot of photoblogs for this site...
7. I'm not keen on single cut in any type of bass, by Warwick or anyone else, but I do like the shape of the "normal" Thumb model. and those woods are gorgeous.
8. True. I imagine mentioning Basschat and handing over my business card may have helped a little, too. But I'm sure there is no pressure at all to buy or be quick for any customers who walk in there.
9.
How much were they selling that Streamer for out of interest? Found a site but no stock basses listed.
Sorry but I don't remember - I may have removed it from memory because it was way out of the reach of my pockets If you'd like to know for sure, PM me and I'll give you Jesse's email address at Warwick.
10. We Warwick nuts should band together and make some sort of bulk buy to satisfy our GAS!
11. LOL all you guys crack me up Thanks again for your appreciation. If my blog is giving you GAS, well, that's exactly how I felt in the NYC shop, so join the club! \m/ \m/
12. Thank you both! Sam, I want one to hang on the wall too - it's too big for little me to play anyway Nige, how could you get rid of your chrome Streamer for a bl**dy Fender??!??
13. Thanks for the appreciation, guys! I thought I should at least try to share the sheer awesomeness of that shop
14. We had a fantastic time. Thank you all for reading my ramblings. It really was a lovely afternoon. Come to think of it, it's probably fortunate that my left-handedness allowed me to try only three basses, as opposed to all those awesome models available at the shop, or I would have had to stay there a lot longer, and missed my flight home
15. You're getting this whether you like it or not \m/ \m/ Linky: http://wp.me/p2ZbyY-3f
16. Have a fab time. I'm just back from a quick visit to Nashville, and loved every second. Truly the music capital of the world. I'm still in awe of not just the sheer number of bands I've seen there, but also the incredibly high quality of their musicianship. I'm writing a blog about my visit, and may end up starting a separate thread for it when it's ready Please tell us about your experience once your camp is over!
17. Huge thanks to Kathryn for letting me have her bass. It's now sitting in my living room with its bigger and cheaper-looking sibling, waiting for me to clear the clutter and tidy my flat after coming back from the States yesterday - after which, it'll be a long, relaxing, acoustic session for me Donation to Basschat on its way as soon as I can remember my Paypal password
18. Anyone left-handed at this bash? If I'm the only one, I won't bother taking a bass, and instead concentrate on listening, socialising, taking photos and writing Basschat blogs
19.
Can I be the first to complain about the amount of gratuitous slapping?
Feel free if it makes you feel better There wasn't that much slapping this year. Much less than last year. I would have come home deaf otherwise. I'm moderately confident that the organisers will eventually get it right and manage to stop those who break the rules.
20. I'm so going to be there Would be absolutely awesome if we could do the Basschat Meeting Corner all over again. I'm happy to (wo)man the corner again next year if we find a space.
21. I'm still out of the country but will collect when back!
22. It'll be joining my other semi-acoustic lefty and will be in good company As I said to Kathryn in my PM, I'll collect it as soon as I'm back in the country in a week's time. Incidentally, Happy Easter everybody!
