1. Haha, and you and Steve look so cool with your dancing in front of the band. It was huuge fun to be there and take photos - and also no fewer than 5 videos!
2. Great to see the Jetsonics guys, Nige, Steve and several other musicians and their halves last night. Fantastic evening. Here are some photos (links to a Flickr set) - http://www.flickr.co...839220772/show/
3. Absolutely agree with Nige! Working on some photos as we speak
4.
This was on Facebook just yesterday, "Can I just throw this out there.. If you wanna go into the main stage to see the live performances you will need a ticket. NOT the ticket you used to get into the show, a different ticket, but don't worry, they're free. It's just that we can't let everyone in the auditorium so have it ticketed. Get them from the main Bass Guitar magazine stand near the entrance. This also means exhibitors too! Sorry to be a ball-buster but you have no idea how many people we can't let into the performances every year cos of this so at least if you all know and can pass the message on! thanks! See you next weeeekeeend!"
Oh, good to know, thanks for that!
5. From what I understand there won't be any tickets. Last year, visitors were supposed to collect free tickets from certain stands, but this was scrapped at the last moment, and we were simply told to queue at the door of the auditorium or place where the masterclass or gig was happening. This is very likely to be this year's setup as well.
6. Ha! Missed this... sounds great, Shell - go for it, good luck, and keep us all posted \m/ \m/
7. Thanks Barrie! I'd happily get one pass for the Sunday, please, to be there with you guys and the BC table. It's going to be simply awesome
8. Good Rock on with the #BCBassRelay! \m/ \m/
9. Excellent stuff! Get him to sign up to BC if he isn't a member already
10.
I'd bet there are plenty of "guitar owners" who have written and performed world famous songs that are far more popular than many 'musicians' ever manage.
Yes, but then I suppose there are also plenty of "singers" who can't utter a word without feeding it through an auto-tune. Does popularity count more tham professionalism? If one's job is being a musician/singer/whatever, wouldn't you expect that person to be at least reasonably competent? This is not meant as a luddite comment - machines are useful and can help, but they shouldn't be substitutes for a modicum of skill.
11. LOL, that's me seeing Metallica with Newsted back in the day!
12. Just a quick update to say that I'll have to re-work the meetup schedule for the Sunday, as David Ellefson has been added to the Live Stage performances on Sunday. I'll publish a revised schedule asap. http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com/david-ellefson-added-to-main-stage-line-up/
13. I have been asked by fellow BC member Alex Lofoco to give the forum a shout about his clinic tour of the UK and Italy and his masterclass at the London Bass Guitar Show. He's being supported by Laurus Basses and Rotosound - and he'll be at their stands giving the masterclass. Check this out:
Alex Lofoco will be on the road with his 'double thumbing' bass masterclass in March 2013. Eleven dates spread over the UK and Italy in collaboration with Laurus basses www.laurus.it and Rotosound strings www.rotosound.com. For the Londoners, Alex will be demoing during the London Bass Guitar Show at the Rotosound (Stand number D11) and Laurus (Stand number B5) booths and will visit the ICMP on Wednesday the 6th. http://icmp.co.uk/in...ails.asp?ID=508 Check out the other dates in the calendar in case you are around for a not-to-be-missed lecture. Also check Alex's video lesson where he explains the basics of 'double thumbing' technique...and for the bravest he provided the full transcription of his improv too! http://www.chitarre....ouble-thumbing/
I'll make sure to pop down the the stand to meet the guys during the show
14.
Yeah, I get the same - the subscription only applies to market place, is that correct??
Should be so, but i'd expect an announcement of some sort before implementation.
15. It wasn't the word "subscribe" that triggered the page and blocked access, but a generalised glitch on the desktop version. I seem to be OK to post now.
16. When I click on some emails from BC alerting me of new posts in the Relay thread, I get redirected to the Subscribe page: http://basschat.co.uk/cp/8-subscribe/. The same happens to those of us trying to replyh to a couple of posts on the topic in the Site Isssues forum. Weird.
17. Congrats Hernando - you need to have your priorities right, don't you. But hopefully we'll be at the LBGS again next year, and we'll want to meet you and your partner
18. Loving this! Thanks James. I've tweeted the lot, with links to this thread and the BCBassRelay FB page. I'll be waiting for you at the LBGS! \m/ \m/
19.
Not sure if this has been already posted, I quickly scanned the thread and couldn't see a reference..... There will be a lot of planned disruption on the tube on both the Saturday and the Sunday. Worth checking here when planning your journey: http://www.tfl.gov.u....aspx?offset=13
Good call. Another version of the works calendar is here: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/livetravelnews/planned-works/calendar/default.aspx Luckily, there are several buses that stop right in front of the Olympia Conference Centre.
20.
Lee doesn't play upright...what on earth are they doing?!
Dunno, but Warwick have been sharing this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjNB9aJoPHo
21. I'm afraid I can't help on this - the Triumph Lite was launched at NAMM in January, so it's quite new, and it may not be in many stores yet... you could try asking Garey (Warwick_Official), to see if he has any info on who might be selling or at least showcasing it in the UK.
