1.
Hope to be there on the Saturday.
Excellent! Haven't seen you for ages. Will be good to catch up
2.
Add me to the list please :-) Never been to one of these before and will be traveling down from Scotland so for those 2 reasons I'll definitely make the mistake of intending to go both days. :-) What's the done thing - do people generally bring an instrument with them or do we just wander around watching other folks play? CB
They are now selling weekend tickets! Naughty of them, as they weren't available at first. You don't usually bring your own instruments to the show, you just go there, enjoy the masterclasses and performances and wander around the stands GASsing like mad
3. Thumbs up here for my NS NXT5, great stuff, so unbelievably easy to play it really feels like a bass guitar stood on end. A gripe, though - the very functional stand looks absolutely horrid, especially compared to the shapely form of a real double bass...
4. LOL This may be useful: http://blog.basschat.co.uk/setting-up-a-compressor/
5.
I suppose this is all personal but I just cant listen to Metallica anymore I overdosed on them when I was in a cover band & now I just cant take in their music anymore.
Possibly also because - how should I put it - they're crap now...
6. Excellent. It's in the diary. Thanks guys. Tweeting it as we speak.
7.
I'm gonna go on Monday
Joining Wayne and his metal detector then? Looks like it's going to be a good one, and maybe - just maybe - one with less slapping than usual
8. I have now got most of the stuff you'll see at the BC corner. Make sure you stop by:
9. Come and say hi! I intend to post the list of meetup times on here before the show, if I have time to create it.
10. Yup, and this time you got there immediately
11. I know! That was intentional and I'm surprised Mark/discreet didn't get there first...
12. You certainly will - and we'll probably also bump into each other at Warwick's stand, judging by your avatar
13. Try this: http://www.facebook.com/BcBassRelay
14. I'll certainly be wearing my lanyard with my BC name and my real name. I don't think I've got any BC business cards, I'm afraid, so I think we'll have to do with normal labels and write our names on each.
15. Great, thanks - I'll keep that in mind. Looking forward to seeing you there! I'm soo happy to be part of this I've got almost all the printed stuff we need for the corner now, I'm only waiting for the banner and the bunch of lanyards, both in the post. PS - Mick, I was re-reading your post above and realised that you've given us an unintentional LOL moment:
Mark from Bass Direct will sell you without a handling fee
I suddenly feel cheap - I'm not even worth a handling fee!
16. That's what I'll do with sunday's ticket if I have no other choice. See you there!
17. Please see this thread! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/198710-basschat-the-london-bass-guitar-show/
18. Thanks for the official announcement Chris! It's going to be fun. I will be there from first thing on Saturday morning, set up, and have a list of meetup times displayed on the table. I'll choose the times so that they don't clash with masterclasses and performances by star guests. I'll be at the BC corner at those times, to meet other BCers, and I'll also make sure I pop down to the corner regularly outside those times, unless I'm attending a masterclass or performance myself (David Ellefson, here I come!) [s]Now I need your help: I am looking for a ticket for Sunday, and I'd be grateful if anyone could remind me which of you guys on here - or which stand at the show - sells tix without a handling fee... cos that would help with finances etc[/s]. [Edited - I should now be sorted for this, thanks to the guys at Bass Gear] I hope to see as many of you as possible at the show!
19.
I'm going on the Monday with my metal detector.
In that case you should be there on Saturday at 10:30am. Plenty of pretty damn heavy metal with David Ellefson
20. Wow, that would be awesome, and I could take and post photos of many BCers playing it, as opposed to just Nige and maybe one or two others in West London. Hope that can be organised.
21. Hi James, I've liked that page and i'm going to tweet it to our followers. Thanks for all your hard work! Re the graphic for the page - I or Ped can send you better quality ones that fit the spaces on the page better.
22.
Nice one, with the Facebook and twitter links, are we talking the BC ones, or dedicated relay ones?
I imagine it would simply be the URL (and possibly FB page and Twitter handle) of the paper(s) you're getting in touch with. Depending on how local or small they are, they may not have FB or Twitter at all. If they do have a presence online, Jellyfish and I can mention their URL (etc.) in our posts/tweets, and link to their articles about the Bass Relay.
