1. Just put in an order for a womens T, small size. Will report back on whether it fits my tiny, not-very-well-endowed frame or I'll need to get out the sewing machine to take it in
2. Shelley (Seashell) with Paul and Sean (Billyapple) jamming. Sorry I don't know the name of the other guy.
3. I've just seen and tweeted this, Nige. I'll do my best to find a few minutes later this evening and check out the compositions. Thank you, and thanks Charic for organising this.
4. And this is you showing me how to play bass guitar upside-down (and still being better at it than me on it the right way round) It was great to meet you, and thanks for letting me plug in and realise that the bass is as quiet as I thought even on a "real" rig...
5. Happy to see you like all three vids, including the truncated one! I loved the gig and am looking forward to the one on 14th November. Note to self: next time, do not believe your camera's battery indicator unless it shows "100% full" and shove in the replacement battery much earlier.
6. Tonight's gig at the Duchess of Cambridge, W4 - after the Bass Bash where Paul had been the jam band drummer and Si had played both bass and guitar, and with Jack in constant pain but bravely determined not to show it. The show was a big success. (Lots more photos and vids to be handed to the band soon.)
7. Belatedly adding my thanks to Colin and Nick for organising the bash - it was my first and I loved it, and can't wait to the next one! Also thank you to both Simons for their tech talks, which I followed to the best of my abilities. Si (MacDaddy), Paul and I left rather in a hurry after the raffle because the Junkyard Dogs had a gig in Chiswick tonight. Jack played through the pain but still offered a sterling performance, and so did the other guys, and the gig went down a storm. So all's well. I've got another billion photos to sort and publish in the next few days! Now to a well deserved good night's sleep for all of us.
8. All the best for your other gigs from me too, Paul (and the Gentleman Tim guys). I second what Clarky said, and will make a point to be there for the whole of your next gig at the George.
9. We'll probably get there a little after 11 if all goes to plan.
10. I'll be there with The Infamous Camera and I can take videos too, as long as they're max 10 mins each (they're more manageable that way).
11. Nik, as far as I know, Paul will be there (and so will I, and Simon). We'll all be missing Jack but hopefully a day's rest will allow him to feel better.
12. I always log on incognito - and it's as slow as it is for the others...
13.
See you all tomorrow for my Effects Q&A.......please ask me questions....please lol Si
If nobody else has any more important questions, I'll sit next to you and you'll talk me through everything effects-related, starting from the very beginning (as in - "this is a pedal" ), 'cos I don't use any, and I don't play live, but I'm keen to learn about them for the future. (Same about amplification, but that's another story.) Looking forward to seeing you all!
14. Just like wading through treacle today...
15. Right, the whole damn thing was cancelled yesterday. They better not do the same with the bass show, or else.
16. You'll see that everything needs adjusting! My basses were unplayable before I re-set them up correctly. Don't be scared, you need to learn how to carry out all those adjustments. Have a quick search online for tips.
17.
OK. Is fret buzz the symptom of neck adjustment or is it the tension in general?
It means that your action is too low and/or the string height needs to be adjusted. Often both...
18. In the past few months I've changed the strings on all my bass guitars from high tension sets to low tension ones, and I'm still having to loosen the truss rod every now and then! So it's definitely something you should consider, as well as re-checking the intonation and, of course, the string height at the bridge and nut (if adjustable).
19. Brings back memories of watching my now-ex's band play there 7-8 years ago... One weekend I should jump on the train and visit. Have a great gig, Clauster, and post photos
20. Heh... I so know that I'll very soon produce my credit card and buy tix to both this and the London Electric Guitar Show in November... Edit: The Guitar Show has been cancelled. The Bass Show, however, appears to be still on.
