1. Indeed! And by the way, I love the way that flying V sounds. Heeavyyy \m/ \m/
2. Ok, then we'll have sex only if someone finally remembers what it is and explains it to the rest of us. Otherwise, it'll be just curry...
3. Thanks Jack for explaining and everybody else for encouraging us newbies! I'm looking forward to attending - apart from the learning to slap bit...
4. What a pity, Shelley - you're going to miss out on the sex and curry...
5. Great gig, as always, with lots of people dancing and having fun! Some shots from last night:
6. I'm thinking of messaging the other girls and make sure we all turn up as 80s rock chicks - but then you guys would have to alter your setlist a bit Maybe next time
7. Happened to me some time ago. I think you need to go into your profile settings here on BC and make sure you tick "Automatically detect when my time zone is in DST".
8. @Whynot, I'm planning a drink in a pub or a picnic if the weather is right, so it's going to be entirely free if you bring your food and drink from home. @Lozz Burnt toast? Bloody hell, I wouldn't eat that stuff even if I didn't have to have an operation, let alone if I did... I hope all goes well with minimal discomfort in any case.
9. Ouch indeed! All the best - will you be given lots of ice cream afterwards, as they did to kids undergoing that op in the 70s? I'll start a new thread some time tomorrow, taking all this info into consideration.
10. Au contraire, I expect you to showcase the finest Italian style in men's fashion!
11. I think the comment referred to the "phwoaar-worthy" photo of her with the bass, not specifically to her music.
12. I think many of us were young when Kate Bush was young as well, so we've sort of grown old together, hence the attraction for our male contingent...? I find that much more dignified than perving after women young enough to be their daughters.
13. We're not taking any gear to this sort of meetups, it's just a drink (or a picninc should summer - the real one, not this travety - make an appearance), and any BC member is welcome, and they don't have to be accomplished musicians (I for one am not!). So I'll keep that in mind when I start the new thread and hopefully a few people will be able to come along.
14. Sounds like we can choose any day, then. I'll wait to see if anyone else replies to this thread, and then I'll start a new one with a suggestion for date and place, and we'll take it from there. Thank you all who replied so far!
15. So, spandex, flying V, poodle perm, all ready? xx
16. LOL is bass playing better than sex? Is good bass playing better than bad sex? And how does that very special bass of yours work as an orgasm ray gun, then? (ooo er, fnarr fnarr etc.) Welcome, Bob!
17.
i've never been to one of these. Do you just turn up on the day and make donations or do you need to book? Not sure that i have anything worth bringing along but would like to come jeff
I would also love to know more. My intention would be to attend but mostly spectate. I've got a couple of items that could go in the raffle, and I could probably bring my NXT 5 if any other lefty is going to attend and would like to have a look at it.
18. I think it makes a lot of sense, really. I haven't tried my hand at drumming but I went to a couple of masterclasses (one of them by Billy Cobham) at my music school when I was studying bass, and loved them. For a bassist, I think it does help to know how a drummer "functions", so to speak.
19. Sorry to resurrect this old thread - I will create a new one eventually, but I just meant to ask if anyone would be up for a meetup in London some time in the second half of August? When is the Olympics madness taking a break? (And will the weather behave?) Opinions?
20. Wuthering Heights is one of my favourite 70s songs. Haven't had the opportunity to find out the bassline by ear yet - anyone got a link to the dots by any chance, to save me (and anyone else who might be interested) a bit of time? Clarky, please keep us all posted about your next gig, with or without KB tribute. Hopefully a little closer to west London next time?
21. I must say that there definitely is some truth in the above - I've had to mess around with the jack socket in my Fortress to tighten it before it started giving me problems, and the bass is only a couple of years old and I only play it at home. Having said that, a little care makes things last longer
22. I didn't even know any publication with that title existed at all!
23.
This is what we need. Naked Ped, from Asschat vists Barefaced. This is gold dust, people.

I've just confirmed a visit to TC Electronic so I'll take my mankini
