  1. You've got more Corvette 5s than I do! (I've got a Fortress 5 and 3 Corvette 5s.) @Happy Jack is not a fan of Corvettes, or Warwicks. We wouldn't play each other's basses even if we were both right-handed! 🙄 😄
  2. Over my dead body, Clarky! 😉 (And the Dynamites would be a bit disappointed to see that bass disappear - it's the one Jack plays with the band at every gig when he's not on DB.) 😎
  3. Except if they take our 'secession' seriously, and retaliate by not allowing Brits to settle in Europe without the same amount of hassle this country's going to give EU citizens trying to settle here! At this stage I'm not sure whether I should be glad or worried that have a EU, non-UK passport.
  4. LOL! Shep/Panther and Si are two of our super-gurus on all things effects (as well as lot of other stuff). As Rich said, Shep seems to have gone very quiet in the last few years.
  5. Guys, Sibob (Simon Poulton) and Shep are two different people. Shep and Pantherairsoft are the same person.
  6. I think he's been mentioned because he may be in a band that plays something similar to your new outfit. Hope he sees we've tagged him
  7. @pantherairsoft is a long-standing BC member.
  8. That matches what Roger said to us in our chat. And in that document we can see the RSD logo, which wasn't on the basses we saw at NAMM.
  9. Excellent drummer I know has started a band and is looking for a female bassist (the band name suggests why - see below). They rehearse in Camden, London. Please email Felipe or message the band's FB page, don't message me. Ta!
  10. It's @dave moffat who suggested the size... I just jumped on the bandwagon. 😎
  11. That might explain why the silk wrapping on the strings gets so close to the bridge. Presumably, full length DB strings have been used.
  12. What are the machine heads like in a cello? Those I can see in the pic look like those I've seen on double basses.
  13. I can't help wondering what's going on with the thickness of that bridge...
  14. These are our own Cable Wranglers in use in our music room. We'll chuck them both in a dedicated bag when it's time to take them to gigs.
  15. They actually don't - this forum prohibits the advertising and sale of all Rickenbackers, real or fake. Discussion is absolutely fine.
  16. The search is not proving easy, so no need for apologies. I think the headphone amp info is buried in threads that start with a different topic and just veer towards it at some point. Edit to add: I've found only old threads, so it's a good thing you have re-started the conversation - there will be new technology around by now.
  17. There have been several threads about headphone amps on this forum (I'll try searching in a moment). My own experience is that the little toys such as Vox Amplug etc. are utter rubbish - go with the PJB, your wallet may complain, but your ears and bass playing performance will thank you.
  18. Incidentally, I know it's not quite NAMM the show, but we also attended the Bass Bash on the Thursday, and I've posted a few photos on Facebook, in case anyone's interested.
  19. I have absolutely no trouble asking how much something costs in a shop, even if I'm not particularly interested in buying it. I have even less trouble asking how much something costs if I *am* interested in buying it. Not quite sure why such enquiry would be a big deal for anyone. What I definitely don't like is websites not giving prices next to images of things for sale. What do you do? Do you have to email them just to satisfy your curiosity? Obviously I'm not referring to high-end custom builds, each of which will have a different price depending on specs.
  20. When @Happy Jack and I had a quick catch-up with John Hall (I know...) at NAMM, he assured us that they're sending over and selling quite a lot of their fivers in the UK. Their booth had all the models on show, once again hanging from the usual brackets, and tied at the headstock so they couldn't be taken off their hooks. (Photos will eventually follow!) Happy Jack wrote a review of the fiver two years ago - attached. Jacks NAMM Rick 5 review BGM 154 March 2018.pdf
  21. You'll probably need a strong coathanger hold them, together with the coiled cables.
  22. Found a link! Here it is, more expensive but available to buy.
  23. I've looked up the company on the usual online selling sites. They have a US Ebay store where delivery to the UK doubles the price (Not A Good Thing), and they used to have an Amazon.co.uk store but it's no longer functioning and the product appears as unavailable. Their distributor appears to be near Milton Keynes, and they're the ones we'll contact for info if/when we need more units for our cables.
  24. Well, of all the nice things we saw at NAMM and would happily have taken home, this was the one we decided we absolutely could not leave without. It's called CableWrangler and we bought two. They apparently have a UK distributor, probably wholesale, though. That's @Happy Jack on the right with the owners of the company.
