1. That bass is pure bling! It won't be to everybody's taste, but that's the point, I think.
2. Semi-acoustic gig at a private function yesterday afternoon. We dodged the rain - just - also thanks to our state-of-the-art waterproofing system. Note the tarpaulins on the pedalboards!
3. Thanks Mick - I've also published the blog as a note on Facebook, so if we don't grab Clarky's and Nige's attention on LinkedIn, we'll ambush them on FB
4. Excellent stuff, thank you Hilary and Mick. The blog is now published! (Apologies for taking this long) - check it out here: http://wp.me/p2ZbyY-vO As always, let me know about any errors and omissions.
5. Halfway House in Barnes again last Saturday! http://flic.kr/s/aHskCZigvK
6. King Ralph were at the Hanwell Carnival 2016 on 18th June; first half of the gig with flautist Keith Waithe, second half just as a the trio.
7. Tweeted to Basschat's followers. Good luck, Alan.
8.
This link you have posted is just a discussion about the origins of the SGC Nanyo and not people posting their pride and joy.
Yes it is. Read it properly. It's currently 13 pages long.

10. Facebook event now up! https://www.facebook.com/events/295792247422880/
11. Neither does Quo's Parfitt, according to the Standard. http://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/celebrity-news/status-quo-s-rick-parfitt-in-serious-condition-after-suspected-heart-attack-a3273871.html
12. Photos - being photoshopped as we speak. Blog - will be ready quickly once I have the photoshopped pics online. I have four pics of Chris, which he'll be welcome to download from the blog if he likes.
13. Unplugged acoustic basses never seem to be loud enough, due to their small size. In my experience, the D'Addario Chromes are some of the brightest-sounding flats available; for a more zingy sound you may have to move to rounds, in particular to phosphor-bronze. Bear in mind that, in that case, you'll also have to put up with more finger noise.
14.
Oops.
Makes no difference in practice! The Zoom has a brilliant microphone too.
I know. We only have to listen to you playing 'Happy Birthday' to know how excellent the sound is!
You should have been there...
15. Thanks Jack. Both the videos were recorded with your Zoom Q2. I'm happy that the sound is good here. Basschat received a few disparaging comments on Twitter about the previous video, the pedal shootout, where a constant hum could be heard. I had to point out that the hum was what we heard in the room, and it wasn't added to the mix by the camera.
16. I have now uploaded Nick (Doctor of the Bass) Smith's talk about SimS pickups. Still working on the photos from the bash. http://youtu.be/OvwumLSkXzU
17. And here we finally have some pics of Mick's mystery bass as given a new lease of life by Andy
18. As per my post on the other thread, we now have the entire shootout video, 25 mins long, here: http://youtu.be/8swPdmfrP0o
19. The shootout video is now on Youtube! just over 25 minutes long. http://youtu.be/8swPdmfrP0o
20. Following this, so I know when to pin the event to the top and spread the word. Good work, guys.
21. I loved every minute of the bash! Many thanks to Mick, Chris, Louise, Graham and Valerie Poulton, and everyone else who spent time and money organising and supporting the event. I took 650 (six hundred and fifty!) photos and recorded the pedal shootout and Doctor of the Bass's talk in their entirety. All to follow soon. In the meantime, a few light-hearted shots. Skinnyman and his prize Noisyjon Bassface2k10 in a rare moment away from reception/kitchen The youngest rocker in town!
22. Topic moved from Introductions to General Discussion. I'll tweet this thread to spread the word. Good luck, David.
23. New venue for the Dogs on Friday 27th May - the Victoria in Aldershot. Great place - and happy, good-looking dancers Full album here: http://flic.kr/s/aHskBzfSjk
24. Easier to copy the text and re-post, if you don't mind. I'm locking this one. Ta
25.
I have a split coil Precision pickup on one shoulder. Only fair to point out that it's a Seymour Duncan.
Here it is. It's a rather large tattoo, so it wraps around the shoulder a bit, hence the apparent distortion in this pic. It's in fact a perfect representation of a Seymour Duncan.
