1. The shootout video is now on Youtube! just over 25 minutes long. http://youtu.be/8swPdmfrP0o
2. Following this, so I know when to pin the event to the top and spread the word. Good work, guys.
3. I loved every minute of the bash! Many thanks to Mick, Chris, Louise, Graham and Valerie Poulton, and everyone else who spent time and money organising and supporting the event. I took 650 (six hundred and fifty!) photos and recorded the pedal shootout and Doctor of the Bass's talk in their entirety. All to follow soon. In the meantime, a few light-hearted shots. Skinnyman and his prize Noisyjon Bassface2k10 in a rare moment away from reception/kitchen The youngest rocker in town!
4. Topic moved from Introductions to General Discussion. I'll tweet this thread to spread the word. Good luck, David.
5. New venue for the Dogs on Friday 27th May - the Victoria in Aldershot. Great place - and happy, good-looking dancers Full album here: http://flic.kr/s/aHskBzfSjk
6. Easier to copy the text and re-post, if you don't mind. I'm locking this one. Ta
7.
I have a split coil Precision pickup on one shoulder. Only fair to point out that it's a Seymour Duncan.
Here it is. It's a rather large tattoo, so it wraps around the shoulder a bit, hence the apparent distortion in this pic. It's in fact a perfect representation of a Seymour Duncan.
8. Visited the shop this afternoon, said hi to the Toms, saw a lot of nice basses! Lefty models are well represented. I managed to stop myself from going home with a gorgeous lefty Streamer, at least this time. Happy Jack's GAS had the better of him, though, so we now have a new bass family member awaiting its photo session and NBD thread...
9. Edit: Sorry Kendall...!
10. Thanks Rob - must visit one of these days. I see that no matter how big the new room, it's already filled to capacity with basses!
11. I do see your point... try not to look at him.
12. No, seriously, anyone have any idea why the bins have '89dB' on the back? The noise of the machine collecting them?
13. I'm having a wild guess that the real focus of this month's cover is in fact that tall guy on the left holding an Ibanez... (what's his name again?) rather than Jools himself.
14.
Can you decide on the day if you can turn up?
Of course you can.
15. The downloadable document with info and the schedule for the bass bash is finally here: share freely! https://db.tt/0hhs5fIB
16. Couple of videos from the recent gig at the Chiswick Club Society: http://youtu.be/6waCewaeZBc http://youtu.be/_C0UdhBIpws
17. We've had a bit of a break from gigging, until last Saturday when the Dogs were back on home ground, at the Chswick Club again. http://flic.kr/s/aHskzuodgS
18. Facebook event just created! Join here: http://www.facebook.com/events/1691894674394174/
19. This year Lozz is going to test preamps and DIs for his shootout; dedicated thread is here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/284022-herts-bass-bash-2016-preampdi-pedal-shootout/ Add yours if you like!
20. Forget Amplugs and similar - they are all crap. Spend a little more and get a really good one. I now swear by PJB stuff. I have a Bass Buddy, which is fantastic but admittedly largish and expensive. This, however, is probably closer to what you're looking for: http://www.bassgear.co.uk/product/pjb-bighead-multi-function-bass-preheadphone-amplifier/
21. I've pinned the DB bash thread Owen added to the Events forum; up to you guys if you'd like to use that thread for a list of attendees and gear or if you'd like to leave it there as a marker and continue here. If Happy Jack and I can make it - and it looks doable as things currently stand - I'll bring cameras etc. and write the usual megablog. I don't think any of you would be interested in a lefty NS NXT 5-stringer, so i'm guessing I'll be the DB-less visitor salivating over your big, unwieldy wooden babies and plucking strings at random with the 'wrong' hand...
22. I've tweeted this post to Basschat's followers. Good luck.
23. No more plugging cables at the back of the amp in the dark...
